ENVY The Steakhouse at The Renaissance Las Vegas
ENVY The Steakhouse, seats 178 people & avoids the traditional steakhouse look of dark wood and dimly lighted booths in favor of designer Pat Murphy's high, red vaulted ceiling down the center of the dining room; a glassed walk-in wine cellar with 1500 bottles; and windows that look out onto Paradise Road. A Chef's Table is in a private booth that sits across from the open kitchen. ENVY Steakhouse serves incredible dishes such as 17oz Bone-In-Rib-Eye; 16oz T-Bone; Tuscan Veal Chop; Fire Roasted Jumbo Tequila Shrimp; and our sinful Truffle Reggiano French Fries. ENVY features Certified Aged Angus steaks and expertly prepared seafoods. ENVY Steakhouse is not your typical steakhouse, but will definitely turn into your favorite. This gorgeous & hip establishment has creations prepared by Executive Chef Chritophe Mihy. We are a first class "Diamond off the Strip", located in the Renaissance Hotel next to the Las Vegas Convention Center.

"Outstanding and very attentive service in a very comfortable and nicely appointed restaurant. However, the food was only decent. Steaks were dry and lacked flavor. They may have been brought out late, because they were no longer hot to the touch.
Considering the price ($45-60/steak), I expected Ruth's Chris or Fleming quality meat. Instead, I felt like I ordered a steak from Black Angus."

"The food was outstanding, especially the "surf 'n' turf". Krisztian and the staff made us feel lie we were their only customers - service was perfect. We will definitely return.

"The restaurant was the busier we've seen it and that was on a Tuesday night.
We have eaten at Envy several times and usually really enjoy it. This time I tried the bone-in ribeye rather than my usual filet mignon as my husband had one at another restaurant 2 days earlier which was gorgeous.
However the steak wasn't the best. It was quite sinewy and hard to cut and chew. This may have been down to having it rare instead of medium rare as ribeye is usually better if it is cooked for longer.
That said, the roast tomato soup was delicious and the parmesan Regianno fries or one would have fed an army. Cocktails were good.
Our server Diante (sp) was excellent without being intrusive."

"Our visit was on a Friday night, I wondered right away why it wasn't busier. Our waiter was great, we had some wonderful wine, a great salad and then things got interesting. The fries and mushrooms were very good, the asparagus was extra large with little flavor and dramatically over-cooked, but the biggest surprise was the steaks. We had two filet's that were dry and lacked any flavor and two bone-in ribeye's that were possibly the worst I ever had. They were only 3/4" thick and lacked any flavor which is very strange for a ribeye. Our total bill for four was over $500, for that price there are too many other great steak houses that deserve your money."

"The food was excellent, as was the service. Our server, Nicki, was fantastic. She was always aware of our needs and spent time getting to know us. The steak was delicious and was cooked perfectly. The pan roasted chicken was moist and very flavorful. The highlight of the evening, though, was the warm toffee bread pudding that was brought to my husband for his birthday. That should always be available on the menu! We had a great dinner and experience and will definitely be back!"

"I am local and had never been to ENVY which I now know was my mistake! This had to have been one of the best dinners my husband and I have enjoyed in town!! Unbelievable tomato appetizer, perfect bone in fillet minion, and creamed corn to die for. "This was one of the best steak meals I have ever had. The manager showed us to the table and presented the extensive wine list. Our waiter went was very attentive and went over the menu in detail. Each time someone brough food to the table the explained what they were serving.
We started with the calamari and rock ship which was good. We decided to split the 40 ounce bone-in rib eye and it was cooked to perfect. After reading other reviews we also tried the whiskey cream corn which as excellent and I would highly recommend if you like corn. We also had the truffle fries which could have feed 4 people.
I highly recommend and will return on future trips to Vegas."

"We had a gift certificate for ENVY and read all of the great reviews, but unfortunately we didn't have the best experience. It started off very pleasant with the hostess and waiter, but then we ended up waiting over 30 minutes between our wedge salad and main course dinner. We wouldn't have minded so much but the waiter never even came over to our table to tell us it was taking a little longer than it should have been. We decided to split the bone in filet - which we never had before, but thought we would try something new because the waiter recommended that over the regular filet mignon. We were very disappointed, especially for the price ($56) for a small steak. We spent way too much money on a below average meal and service."

"From the onset my friend and I were treated like royalty. Our waiter, Matthew, asked us if we had eaten there before and, upon learning we had not, took us through a tour of the menu. Knowing that we were going to eat a large steak we passed on the appetizers and salad. We started with a beer and bread which was delicious. We were given a small sample of the chef’s work in the form of a beet covered with melted goat cheese and a sauce to try that was very tasty. The 17oz Rib-eye steak was served cooked perfectly to order and was so tender I could cut it with a fork. It tasted wonderful and melted in your mouth. The wild mushrooms and baked potato topped off the main meal and were equally good. For dessert I had the chocolate cake, with vani"

"Pretty good overall. Our tomahawk steak was delivered to the table undercooked. We ordered medium, but got it rare. We still ate it. I was hoping that for the price, it would be perfect when it reached the table. Our server was a bit chatty, but a nice kid just the same. Like I said, overall pretty good. No real complaints - just not the 5 stars I was hoping it would be."

"We visit often from Mesquite Nv and we think the ENVY is worth every penny for a special event particularly. We love the new bar area and menu. The specialty drinks are great! As are the craft draft beers! It's overall a great spot. And breakfast is always excellent. Cost more but is high end quality food!"

"Staff were very attentive and friendly. Our waiter, Joshua, was excellant. The steak was good but honestly I do think it was pricier than it should have been. We rationalized this that the price was not just for the food but was also for the high quality of the staff. We were dining here as a treat for a special celebration and we were given a special desert. A very nice surprise and treat and the toffee cake was amazing!"

"This is the second time I've been to ENVY. My first experience there was a little better than this one. The waiter was attentive until the place got busier. It took time for him to refill my water and to get our bill once we were done.
The chicken was fantastic, but the filet mignon wasn't much better then Outback, yet, double the cost. My first experience with a filet at ENVY a year ago was much better.
Overall, a great place to dine and I would still come back."

"The staff were excellent, from the moment we walked in, and they catered to all of our needs. The only reason I reduced the rating for ambiance was because we were in the restaurant fairly late, and they began to clear all of the tables and stack glasses, on the table next to ours. It felt like an indication that it was time for us to leave."
