"My friend and I arrived for her birthday lunch on Sunday, and we didn't realize it was a "Mother's Day" buffet with a set price of $55/per person! When I made the reservation on Open Table it didn't indicate that there was a special menu for that day. As we were just there for a light lunch, we asked if we could order something other than the buffet. Our waiter said he would ask the Manager, and he was back quickly with the bar menu, and we were able to order the perfect light lunch. He also brought two huge chocolate covered strawberries with a candle for my friend, compliments of the house. We were delighted and really appreciated the special attention. Thank you!"

"What could have been an exceptional dinner was only mediocre due to less than satisfactory service. The waiter was young and inexperienced, forgetting what we ordered and delivering food and drinks that were not hot. It was apparent that the other tables were getting the same treatment as well."

"We loved Citron - went with wife/kids for my Bday dinner and tried out several Vegetarian dishes and the chef made a special Vegetable platter as well all of which was excellent! The night we went they had a live music which made it even special! The scene is hip/trendy/romantic and the outside patio dining is by the poolside. The decor is simple but artsy/charming. The service was excellent. Love Viceroy and would definitely come again. The restaurant/hotel is tucked away in a quiet part of downtown Palm Springs so was a little hard to find the entrance! Must visit...even though slightly pricier side."

"My wife and I often visit Palm Desert and decided to visit Palm Springs for dinner alone while the kids were with their grandparents. We sat outside by the pool in a stunning setting accompanied by some wonderful live entertainment. The acoustic music was the perfect pairing with a nice glass of wine and a delightful meal. The service was a little slow but the ambiance and meal was well worth it. A definite go to if you are in the desert."

Waiter was a bit over the top, and did not focus on the basics, forks, knifes we always received after the course was served. Bus staff was great and made up for his delays. Waiter should state they have already added tip on the dinner check."

"One of our "Go-To" favorites here in the desert. Service can be slow but this is not the spot to come to if you are in a hurry. Citron is a place to relax and enjoy the pleasures of Palm Springs. We almost always sit outside or at the bar. The inside dining room is small and often lacks the liveliness you find poolside. Drinks are consistently good: strong, delicious and beautiful. I find myself craving the Viceroy Burger, big and rich, and enough for two to split. If you're a local consider getting a membership. You get 25% off every bill, which quickly adds up and pays for itself."

"I have eaten at Citron many times over the years. My friends who dined with me live in Palm Springs and mentioned that they've been disappointed with the food, but were willing to give it a try. They were once big fans, as well. I'm sad to say the food was extremely disappointing. Unless they turn things around, I'll not be returning. I love the ambience, but I won't go there to eat overcooked and flavorless chicken and crab cakes that felt like they came from a box of frozen foods at Trader Joe's."

"Took at date for poolside dining. Got major points for the setting and it felt romantic which gets me a second date! Food was great as usual! I've had brunch here with a group* of friends as well and had great service and everyone seemed happy with the menu. I've never been disappointed by Citron and I doubt you will either.

"Second time there, and I'm going back again. This time lived up to the first... And more. This time we were seated poolside, and a beautiful guitarist started to play softly midway through the meal. We were early birds. He was fantastic, and it added to the ambiance. I highly recommend this restaurant. You won't be disappointed.
If I have one minor issue, it is with our server, who seemed to forget about us toward the end of the meal. Not a huge issue, as we were having a good time, but one worth noting."

"They have changed their menu a bit and a major miss for me was they no longer serve their beignets with homemade coconut and banana ice creams. I tried the dense chocolate cake in its place which I found to be dry and not up to par for location and reputation. The wine pour seemed less and now on two recent visits they have put 20% gratuity on the bill. The service was adequate at best, but not worthy of 20% for just showing up. One cannot take away the setting. I will still visit but not with the frequency I once had. Overall it was good but not great and certainly not for the price point and service."
