"A solid, reliable place. This is a must visit with our business trips to NYC. They have excellent salads, fresh fish and lovely service. We had a variety of minor adjustments to dishes that were accommodated without drama. Much appreciated."

"I found a new hangout in an unexpected place. Niles is in the Affina Hotel near Madison Square Garden and it is excellent. I had the Irish Omelet which was delicious and flavorful in every bite. The restaurant itself is nice looking with little painting of scenes of the city on the walls - very clean & fresh. The staff was very attentive & accommodating. They have a very swanky bar area which I am going to try for an afternoon drink but looking over the rest of the menu, it will be hard to resist having dinner & dessert there after. And the muffin basket is fresh & hard to resist as well."

"I have come to miles often. The food is reliable and good but lately the service / kitchen has been extremely slow. The manager did comp our sodas which was definitely the right thing to do. I would go back but they need to address the pace."

"For pre- or post-Madison Square Garden events this is an excellent choice. Much better than the standard pub grub joints that dominate the area. Fine dining, good wines, nice atmosphere. Locals should be flocking here, not just tourists who seem to be the majority of diners. [BTW, the pretzel crumb covered chicken in a coarse mustard sauce is excellent--substitute potatoes with the pistachio wild rice.]"

"I was very excited to return to Niles although, upon arrival, there was no host or hostess present to seat me so I was taken to my table by a waiter. The waiter was not familiar with procedure, didn't even note that I was an Open Table client even after making mention. There were no bread plates at the table and my guest and I had to ask for them even after we were served bread, our waiter just wasn't attentive as we had to call his attention every time we needed him. We truly enjoyed our meal but the overall experience was not as good as our first visit. Hopefully, our return will be more like the first!"

"The perfect place to dine if you're attending an event at the Garden. Much better than Nick & Stef's which is over priced and cramps you in shoulder to shoulder with the people at the next table."

"Dined here for a friend's Bachelorette. We were staying at the Affinia Manhattan in which the restaurant is in the hotel so very convenient. Place looks nicely decorated for a nice dinner and reasonably priced. Had the appetizer crab cakes and it was only ok because I'm from Maryland so I know what a good lump crabcake taste like and it was far from it but not unbearable. Service was great and we received 20% off since we were staying at the hotel attached to it."

"The food was good, not great but the service was completely inept. The noise level in the entire restaurant made it unacceptable for dining at these prices. Why bother having someone wo seemed like a manager come over and ask us how it's going if you're not going to do anything when we politely point out that we're still waiting for our apps."

"Going to a concert at the Garden, it was a perfect spot. The inside is very modern looking, but kind of hard. But the food is good so who cares? Excellent pan seared scallops for my entree which came with delicious braised bacon cabbage, and I started with a very nice veggie soup. My husband tried the pretzel crusted chicken. He started with the lobster bisque and enjoyed both. The service was very good. We would definitely go back! A little noisy, but bearable."

"not sure why you don't get points for a restaurant that is signed up for OpenTable. Boooo. They should market themselves better since there is really nothing around the area for a nice brunch place that isn't a complete tourist trap. Very good but poorly marketed."

"We were a party of 7, looking for a nice Saturday lunch spot near Penn Station since one of us was catching a train.Niles turned out to be a delightful surprise. Attractive, modern decor, attentive service and altogether perfect-for-the-situation choice. The menu is not adventurous, but the food is well prepared. The availability of round tables means larger groups can actually hear and see one another. All of us have added Niles to our neighborhood restaurant resource lists...."

"Waiting for friends we hung out in the bar which was populated with the after work crowd on a Thursday evening. The place was busy but not crazy. Had a nice dinner before event at MSG. It was convenient, the food was tasty and I would go back again. I shared a chopped salad with my friend as an appetizer and it was plenty. We both ordered the grilled mahi-mahi with risotto, which we both enjoyed. Hubby had lamb chops which he thought was a bit on the small size for the price. With only an hour and a quarter we managed to fit in appetizers and a relaxing entree. We decided to pass on dessert so we would make our concert. I would go back again."

The food was wonderful and my lamb chops were cooked to perfection! My husband had the duck and enjoyed his dinner tremendously. Ambience was nice and it was a perfect end to our special day in New York City!"
