"Try the Kentucky fried bunny. It's delicious.
Small restaurant so make sure you make a reservation. Serving staff was knowledgeable about their wine list and recommended we get the half entrees if we got an appetizer. It was the right choice. Parking is on street or in a near by garage."

"Yeah, I just didn't get it. Food list short. Drink list abundant. Chairs, wooden, rock hard...first time I've been out and craved the comfort of my work chair instead. No utensils on the table and didn't come out in conjuction with the service of the food. Don't order the sauteed calimari. Yuck. Or the chorizo risotto. Chorizo and risotto should never be served together and, topped with rubbery calimari strips, is a trifecta of awesome wrongness! The sauce was the best thing on the plate but it couldnt have been more than a tablespoon. :( This dish should be taken off the menu TODAY. Go to Vinology to have a drink, talk with friends but not to eat nor stay long. Overall, had potential but just not my cup of tea. Not the best eatery on Main."

"I've been constantly recommended to try Vinology after moving to Ann Arbor a few weeks ago so I decided to take advantage of the Restaurant Week and visit there for lunch. The interior was nice (we ended up taking the outdoor seating though - the weather was just too nice to be inside), service was slow but friendly. but the food was seriously disappointing. We took the fried green tomato and shrimp & shell, but both tasted as if they were cooked beforehand and re-heated for serving. Risotto was overcooked, soggy and cold, and the pasta shell containing crab cake was hard as rock.
I am thinking of giving it another try though - paying full price and visiting in the evening hopefully makes the difference."

"This is a regular on our dining schedule. We love the "half-size" portions. Wish the wine flights were more individualized to the actual order, but that being said, they were very good. Service was great. We had a really lovely evening."

"I went here with my boyfriend just to have a nice date night and we had one of the best meal dining experiences we have ever had. The food was all absolutely delicious, amazing combinations of flavors and the service was genuinely amazing as well. We had a three course meal which was brought to us in a nice flow. We also ordered a bottle of wine, which our waiter, Steven I believe, promptly kept at a nice level. Not only were we attended to by the waiter, but also the manager/owner (not sure which one) and the chef, all of whom seemed to really enjoy their job, food, wine, and making your evening amazing. The bill was a little pricey but then again we did get an amazing three course meal and a bottle of wine!"

"We dined at Vinology for Restaurant Week. Food and service were excellent. In other restaurants we have often found smaller food portions during Restaurant Week but the portions were more than enough to fill us up. My husband and I enjoyed the wine flights - a generous (estimated 3 oz) pour of 3 different varieties. The only issue was when we arrived - our party of 3 was shown to a table for 6 in the basement, located outside of the wine cellar. We thought it had the ambience of a banquet room. We asked to be reseated upstairs and were shown to a very nice table for 4 near the front with a window view. The restaurant wasn't full so we were surprised by the initial seating but satisfied that there were no issues with our request."

"I dined at vinology for the first time. The ambience is very nice and our server was knowledgeable and attentive although she was a bit overly chatty and familiar at times. The drink options are of course great. I loved my wine. Food was so-so. Started with the crostini--delicious! Then had the half portion of halibut (which is a very good amount of food). Everything was good except it was swimming in what was supposed to be a pea purée by looked more like green oily water. Very unappetizing. Overall though it was a decent experience minus my food (my friend loved her surf and turf)."

"I've eaten at Vinology many times. Overall, it is a fun, energetic place with a great wine list, generally good food (although sometimes a bit heavy), and normally great service. However, at our last visit, the waitress clearly did not like us from the start for unknown reasons. We ordered several glasses of wine, two bottles of wine, and all courses of food, so it's not like we were just hanging around taking up a table, which is how she acted - cold and annoyed. Not the most pleasant experience."

"The quality of food at Vinology has varied substantially over the years. After a long hiatus we decided to give it another try and we were very pleasantly surprised this Monday. "The food was good. Being a busy evening, noise was very loud. What stood out was the sad and bad condition of the furniture, which no "good" restaurant should own. The booth seat (either plastic, pleather or whatever) was badly cracked and was really scratchy all evening. It will ruin tights or any fine clothing. This should not overshadow what was otherwise good food, but it did. Sorry, unable to rate higher due to this."

"Having changed our reservation from 6 to 7 p.m., we were seated at a table for four in the bar area. Got water right away and then waited for 20 minutes until someone took drink orders. Then another 20-30 minutes to place the food orders. Food not worth the long wait. Good, not great.
Noise level high so not good for conversation, at least where we were sitting. Restaurant okay if other better places are booked but it would not be my first choice for a night out in Ann Arbor."

"The food and wine are both outstanding. The meals are extremely creative and the portions are enormous, even the half dinner sizes are enough for 1 full dinner (and I can eat quite a lot). The servers know about all the proper wine pairings. The desserts are also great, and it is also a nice stop for restaurant week."

"We were a group of 6. Had reservations. Had 3 different appetizers. Cheese plate, marinated olives and the crostini with 3 different spreads. Very flavorful! My main course was the chicken with rice. It was delicious. We had a couple, 3 bottles of wine. Wonderful. It was not too loud, but, we were having so much fun I doubt we would have noticed. Our server, Steve, was absolutely the BEST! He was attentive, funny and in charge. He gave us some good advice re: the appetizers and the wine. We really enjoyed having him as our server and would ask for him by name again!"

"Despite a 45 min to 1 hour wait for walk-ins, we were seated promptly at 8:45 for our 8:45 reservation. Hostess appologized for the 5 min wait (we arrived a bit early). Service was excellent. The food was amazing. I had the Duck pastrami - perfect. My wife had the arctic char which was also excellent. I love that you can get half orders of the entrees. Port-poached pear tart for dessert. Awesome meal."

"After our last visit I was expecting more than we got this time. One of our party is both gluten and dairy free. There was absolutely nothing on the menu that would serve him. The Manager and the Chef were very accommodating and made a dinner that would work for him. But in this day and age that seems pretty astonishing that there were none of the basic sides that would work.
I had the suckling pig. Okay but not great; The char was an excellent dish and the diner who chose that was the happiest of us all. Their are good goals for this restaurant but at times they stretch a little too far.
I will go back but not with my gluten and dairy free husband. That was too much work for a dinner."

"Vinology strives to be a foodie destination but like most similar restaurants in the Ann Arbor area, doesn't quite deliver. The New American menu is inventive & changes frequently. I had the Kentucky Fried Bunny in the lead up to Easter, which was cute, and also the best dish we tried that night. The wedge salad appeared on the menu after a Top Chef episode aired featuring a challenge make a dish with iceberg lettuce, but Vinology's take failed to excite. The dishes were more imaginative than flavorful; most were strongly over-seasoned. One of 3 scallops was sandy. When we brought it up, management apologized, citing a busy kitchen, and comped it. Service was friendly but not proactive; I had to ask for new flatwear and plates."

"We enjoyed a romantic dinner in an intimate wine cellar, surrounded by wood shelving and hundreds of bottles of wine. Nina helped us throughout the night, sharing details about the new Spring menu and the wine offerings, and by pacing the evening for our enjoyment. Appetizers were fantastic. My wife and I each ordered a different flight of three wines, which we sampled and shared, discussed and enjoyed. The other nearby dining rooms have their own look and feel, all with a wine-centric theme. Large champagne bubble decorate the ceiling of one area, and wine tools fill boxes on the wall of another. Well worth a visit!"

"Food was amazing, as always. Still obsessed with the michigan sparkling wine they have on tap.... M.lawrence, the variety they have now is called sex, the prior version was called Detroit, both fabulous and very affordable at 15/carafe. Bison steak was out of this world... Lamb was succulent. I look forward to meals here, esp as they change the menu enough that your forced into trying something new, and I'm always glad for it! Our particular server last time was a little dry... Service was good, but I noticed many laughing helpful and personable servers around us and wondered why ours was so stiff... Oh well, people have off days. Overall another phenomenal experience!"

"Vinology does a half portion option for their entrees. The lamb entree half portion was huge, but my tuna half portion was literally two peices of sashimi, for $21. The equivalent amount of tuna I could get at a sushi restaurant for $4. Very disappointed in the portioning of that dish. It was border-line insulting."

"This visit was a bit unpleasant as we were seated downstairs despite reservations and what seemed to be plenty of open tables upstairs. Further when we did get seated downstairs, the table wobbled dangerously, which led to a couple of iterations at leveling it with napkins while we waited on our wines. The bar stool type chairs / table were uncomfortable for what was supposed to be a nice dinner for two and we were not forewarned about it or given an option if we would mind sitting on such. The food was good as has been during previous visits."

"Friday night stop, first time visitor. Wine list is expansive, although I am not an expert, draft selection fair. Did not care for the beer glasses (sort of a brandy type glass), but that is only real complaint on the drink selection. Had two appetizer plates, olives and pickled vegetables at $8 great deal, very good, loved it. Cheese appetizer plate $18 a little carb heavy with some breaded type goodies on it. We just had two half plates after that, amish chicken was one of them. All in all, very good, outstanding server (Alexis??). Will be back. BTW, was not there in time for it, but 1/2 off during happy hour."
