"Overall our experience was very nice. We had dinner here before heading over the Beacon Theater to see Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers. Dinner was delicious as always. We share the Calamari Appetizer which was amazingly seasoned with a sweet and sour theme, very yum!!! My husband had the Sea Scallops and Crabmeat entree and I had the 6oz Filet with Shrimp which were both fantastic. Also our waiter was attentive and friendly, he made sure to have us out in time to make our show. Definitely a night to remember :)"

"Ours was a birthday celebration for my Son, the experience was first class throughout. We were attended to by Marshall who offered excellent advice on our menu and wine choices and delivered a faultless professional and unobtrusive service. I split a New York strip with my Wife and we still could not finish it, the best steak in town."

"I had my first Mother's Day dinner at Ruth Chris and I enjoyed every moment with my boyfriend and our 11 month old daughter. From appetizers, to entree, to dessert it was all amazing. Even my daughter enjoyed the mashed potatoes. This was fine dining and my server made it even more memorable by providing me with a Mother's Day gift card worth $25. I loved every moment of my day and look forward to spending many other occasions at Ruth Chris."

"I first went to Ruth's Chris last year during NYC Restaurant Week, and had such a great experience that I wanted to come back. Last week was my birthday so I decided to splurge. I was welcomed very warmly and seated after only a few minutes ( this was on a busy Friday night). I had the good fortune to have Sean as my waiter. He was beyond friendly. He wished me a Happy Birthday, and when he brought out my dessert, there was a candle in it! Oops, I almost forgot to mention how good the food was. I had the Petit Filet which was cooked perfectly, and Garlic Mashed Potatoes. Yes this restaurant is rather pricey, but worth it."

"We went for dinner on a Sunday evening after seeing a matinee on Broadway. We were seated right away, attended to by our waiter almost immediately. We had cocktails then dinner (steak, of course) and everything was delicious. Our waiter was very prompt with everything and quite nice without being overly intrusive. I would highly recommend Ruth's Chris for any occasion but it is particularly convenient as a pre or post-theatre restaurant."

"We had a lovely dinner at Ruth's Chris Steak House last Saturday before a show. It was great because it was nice and quiet when we got there but I also noted that it was still fairly quiet after the room started filling up. The food was delicious and the martini's were very good but a bit pricey.

"I've been to this location of Ruth's Chris before and love everything about it. I now compare all other restaurant steaks against what I've been served there.
This visit for me was different. I am now restricted from eating flour products and have to be very careful. When I asked our waiter, Frank, if the tomato with crab soup contained any flour, he didn't run off to the kitchen to find out. He took out a small (sort of) notebook, looked up the dish and read all of the ingredients to me! When I wanted to know if they thickened the green bean casserole with flour, he read all the ingredients in that dish to me. How much more accommodating can a restaurant be!

"we have eaten at several Ruth Chris', but had not been to the one in New York in many years. The service was fantastic and they were very attentive to the two teenagers that we had with us. The quality of the food was good, but a little bit below my expectations at this price level. The wine list was very good, and teh server did not try to talk us into an expensive bottle of wine. "This was my third time at this restaurant, and for some reason I didn't love it as much as the first two times. It's almost like a "theme" restaurant. Everything feels big and novel (like the sizzling hot plates and) but the steak isn't really as good as you might think. The calories listed next to each dish on the menu give you an idea of what they might be loading other appetizers and side dishes with. I tried to go low cal and the fish (crabcakes) and asparagus (without hollandaise) were pretty good! I think it might be best for families on a special occasion....but not on a regular basis. Pretty pricey too."

"I have been going there for years but it has gone markedly downhill. The service is mediocre to slow and they do not make you feel like they value your business. I haven't once had a maitre d come to my table to ask if everything was OK. I guess they just expect to always get business because they are in proximity to Radio City but it is now off my list.

"This was our first visit to Ruth's Chris in New York although we have eaten at others. Our meal was excellent - petit filet with shrimp/sauteed spinach/mushrooms/salads/desserts - all from the "classical choice" menu for $42.95 pp. An excellent value and excellent food! We'll be visiting again."

"Our daughter attends college in New York City and when we visit her, she nearly always chooses Ruth's Chris for dinner. We have eaten at some of their other locations as well and have never been disappointed. We can't say that about other famous steak house chains. The food is excellent, prepared to our liking and the service is professional but friendly. Our reservation times are always honored and the few times we didn't have a reservation, they went out of their way to accommodate us. Looking forward to dining there again in the near future."

"It was an ok dinner. Service was lacking. Waitress did note that a gluten free menu had been requested but we had not been provided one. Disappointed to find that some items on the GF menu were not longer available. Two people ordered the exact same entree but they were far from the same cut of steak. One was cooked perfectly and the other was over cooked. It was all edible but no where near what you would expect for a $400 meal."
