"We went to Ruth's Chris Steak house for my husband's birthday; I had noted that on our open table reservation. We arrived to a birthday card and greetings on the table! Service, food, and presentation was first class; we enjoyed a quiet dinner and the ambience was perfect... We split the generous side dishes and a salad. One of our favorite places to go for birthdays and anniversaries."

"My wife and I just spent our anniversary at Ruth's Chris this past Saturday night. As usual and as expected, our experience was spectacular. We were seated in an intimate booth that beautifully decorated with anniversary-themed decorations and even a sweet card/note from the General Manager welcoming us to the restaurant for the evening.
Even our dessert was delivered on plates that had "Happy Anniversary" written in chocolate. Fabulous! It's this kind of treatment that continues to bring us back for many of our special family celebrations, New Year's Eve, Valentine's Day among several occasions.
Would recommend this restaurant to anyone. Thank you Ruth's Chris!"

"You go for the steaks, but the side dishes and salads are also very good.
If you aren't used to the prices at this type of restaurant, the bill can be shocking.
The service is usually exceptional, but I think it is on its best on the weekends.
We went on a weeknight and it started off very well at the greeting and order-taking,
but got non-attentive after we had our coffee and dessert.
Perhaps Ruth tries to get by on less staff during the week.
I must say that the bar service was excellent."

"Disappointing to say the least - and totally unexpected. We've been coming to Ruth Chris' for a number of years and always enjoyed the great food. Tonight - on a slow and snowy night in Minnesota they were just off their game. The servers repeatedly could not figure out what plates to serve each of us - they mixed up appetizers and salads. By the time they figured it out, we ate our salads and suddenly the steaks were there. I had a NY strip that was chewy and fatty - it cost $45. The previous Saturday I had a NY strip at a restaurant by our cabin in northern Wisconsin that cost $19 and was much better than Ruth Chris'.Not sure what has happened but I won't be back until they get their act together.Wonder what happens when it's busy?"

"Was a very nice dinner, they did a wonderful job accommodating my boyfriend and myself. I would highly recommend this place for a special date place. The filet was delicious and perfectly cooked (I am incredible picky and only eat very rare steak). Parking was easy and cheap across the street on 10th. The dress code is classy."

"Excellent place to have an amazing dining experience each and every time you go there. Dim lighting, soft music playing, and art painted on the ceiling makes you instantly comfortable. The server and drink staff are attentive to every detail and will not let you get close to finishing a drink before it is refilled. The GM has been here for a long time and takes the time to greet and get to know returning customers. After 3 years she still remembered where we lived and also comp'd our dessert. Jenna runs a tight ship. Ruth's will always be our first and only choice when we have an evening to enjoy a great dinner! I almost forgot to mention the food.... Anything you order will be the best tasting dish possible."

"The most amazing filet/steak you could ask for!! Loved the creamed spinach side and the sautéed mushrooms are incredible. The roasted tomato was not worth the price and we didn't care for the sugar/sweetness on the tomato, so we wouldn't order those again, but everything else was incredible. They also surprised us with a complimentary anniversary dessert which was almond bark made with dark chocolate and a petite cheesecake (about a 3" diameter round)...a perfect amount for an after dinner sweet and had a nice light texture. Was great ending to a superb meal!"

"I have to agree with the folks who have written that this is not the best of steak houses, although it is obvious that they try hard. We had the petit filet and it was done perfectly, just not as tender as the steak specials we had last week at Jax (at a much more reasonable price). The sides were excellent as were the drinks. The server was a bit too much on exuberance, but the other helpers were quiet, efficient and inobtrusive. We'll go back many times for Happy Hour, but not for dinner."

"I've been to Ruth's Chris before. I usually enjoy the food, service and ambiance. This time we went late, at 9pm. The majority of the restaurant was empty, there were only 4 or 5 tables with parties. For some odd reason, the food took a lot longer than we expected, and this time, while my husbands dish was piping hot, mine was only lukewarm. For the price, it was a bit of a letdown. Then towards the end if the meal, our server left us hanging with the bill and didn't return to check us out until 15 minutes later. I get that it was late and servers are trying to do side work and close things down for the night but that shouldn't affect service or food quality. Overall we had a good time but we were slightly disappointed."

"I took my partner here for a romantic dinner that exceeded my highest expectations! Service and atmosphere were excellent, we were seated immediately and at a great table. The staff attended to our every need without making us feel uncomfortably over waited on.
The steaks were perfectly tender and sizzling upon arrival. Our only complaint would be that the steaks were over salted.
It's an expensive meal but a worthwhile treat if you can afford it."

"Definitely a great place to enjoy a meal in honor of a special occasion. The service was excellent and our server was very helpful/knowledgeable. Of course, this led to us spending way more money than planned as he recommended a fantastic off menu special. Also, their live lobsters are huge! The smallest one available was just over 3 lbs. The ambiance completely fits what I would expect from a high-end steakhouse...slightly dim, dark woods/accents and very comfortable while still being upscale."

"The food was excellent--I enjoyed every last bite. The sweet potato casserole was amazing. I'm definitely going back...I wanted to go to a Ruth's Chris ever since I was a kid growing up in New Orleans. My wife and I celebrated our anniversary there and they gave us a few treats which was very nice."

"We had tickets to Book of Mormon at the Orpheum, so we made it a special night at rc's. The service was wonderful, since we were newbs to rc's, we were given a brief rundown how they work(i thought steakhouses were pretty much they same) The waiter was helpful w/ helping me pick a wine to go with my ny strip w/o talking down to me. We started w/ calamari which was the best i've had in the cities. Knowing we had tickets might have helped, but the wait staff was prompt and had great pacing of the food. Overall a great time."

"Ruth's Chris never disappoints. We save our visits here for special occasions where we tend to over indulge and everything from "soup to nuts" was wonderfully prepared. The wine list is robust but tends to be stocked heavily on the pricy side of wines. As typical the wait staff is terrific and pay attention to detail."

"Everything was really good. My only issue was that my girlfriends steak was not done right, although the staff quickly made it right and my New York strip had alot of grissle on it causing me to cut out a bunch the meat. Taste of everything was really good though and staff made a lot of great suggestions and the seared tuna was amazing!"

The food was cooked to perfection; Scott (our waiter) was extremely knowledgable about wine, making our evening sextra pecial and memorable. "Some friends met my wife and me there for a birthday dinner. We had a few drinks before dinner as we waited for our table. Our table was ready at the reservation time as expected. We had a nice leisurely meal while Hedi, our waiter, took very good care of us throughout the meal. He helped with suggestions for drinks and wine, appetizers, side dishes and our main entrees. The steaks were fabulous and really, who doesn't come for the steaks. The rest is really just garnishes to that. At the end, a special birthday dessert was brought out that was very thoughtful. Overall, an excellent experience like I haven't had in some time."

"I have always loved and recommended this restaurant to friends and family. With that said, I was disappointed with the quality of the food and service with this visit. "I make Ruath's my valentine go to place. Which usually goes great. Unfortunately, this year I had made my reservation well in advance and was a little disappointed that our table was in the bar room. It was really cramped and wasn't very romantic. The only other problem i had was the mashed potatoes. They were kind of soupy. Not the usual fair I am used to at Ruth's Chris. The waitress was lovely and it was a nice touch at the end of dinner with the long stem rose and the chocolate dipped strawberries - yum. Of course the steaks were AMAZING. Hopefully next valentines I will remember to request a better table and pass on the potatoes."
