"From the moment we arrived at Hollywood Prime the service was superb. There was high attention to detail in every aspect. The waiter was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and specials. Our food was sublime and the wait staff surprised me with a beautiful plate with three sorbets and Happy Birthday written in chocolate."

"Prime sirloin (dry aged) was tough to chew. Also it tasted as if it were left a bit too long in the aging process.
Waiter immediately offered to replace it, but I chose the filet instead (prime??? but wet aged???), which was much cheaper. Wet aged vs. dry aged explanation was more info than I wanted. All I want is a soft buttery steak with no aged taste when I pay close to $50 for a 10 oz sirloin.

The waiter kindly gave me a free dessert. I will not return to Hollywood Prime."

"Some items are outrageously expensive.... like one tiny, tiny stone crab claw with barely any meat in it for $24.00!! The waiter graciously replaced the dish with a different crab appetizer after we quietly complained. Had we not said anything, nothing would have been done about it. Imagine how many diners are bitterly annoyed at such pompous pricing! The rest of the meal was excellent--delicious well-prepared portions appropriate to the cost."

"Best lobster bisque I have ever had, but asked them to leave out the hollandaise sauce which was in the bowl with the lobster before pouring the soup in. Totally unnecessary. Also great french onion soup too, but was so big it could be a meal in itself with lots of cheese. The beef carpaccio was pretty good also. Unfortunately we didn't think the actual steak was that great (dry aged 18 oz. ribeye). High quality, but not enough good sear for the really good flavor compared with other top steak houses. The creamed spinach also had a strange spice in it that made it taste a bit odd. Not the traditional garlic spinach which we like. Would not get it again. Overall would not go back for the steak, but would do the soups and bread!"

"Was looking for a new upscale steak restaurant for a change from 954, which is great. This place cannot compare. Although ambiance was really good, everything else went wrong. Seared foie gras came out cold. Steaks ordered medium came out rare. Server took the meat back advising us to "enjoy the sides". Really??? Same piece of meat came back 10 minutes later, now overlooked. They comped the foie gras and offered dessert, but forget it. To add insult to injury, asst waiter said he would have our car pulled up but when we went outside, we waited THIRTY minutes to get the car, practically having to harass the inept valet manager! Never again!"

"i recommend this place only if you like traditional NY steak houses; if you don't, stay away, as everything is drenched in butter (including the "healthy" options, like fish), no matter how much you ask them not to use butter. if you like big juicy steaks at high prices, by all means go; if you're not a big fan of red meat, stay away. this place is a heart attack waiting to happen."

"all the food was very good except for the baked potato which was sitting too long or over cooked and was covered with salt. If the potato had no salt (traditionally served plain so one can choose toppings) and wasn't overcooked it would have been a perfect meal to rave about. One can add as much or little salt with a shaker. The sides that came with the potato were looked lovely and were brilliantly displayed. The waiter offered to replace it immediately. The service was exceptional!"
