a casa fox
a casa fox specializes in authentic Latin American cuisine inspired by Chef Melissa Fox's Nicaraguan mother. The food is served in a rustic setting in Manhattan's trendy Lower East Side with a crackling fire place and decorated throughout with family keepsakes.
Dishes range from tapas-style starters - empanadas and beef chimichurri skewers - as well as larger main dishes like braised short ribs with rice, beans and fried plantain chips.
Ask for a box of empanadas to go, store them in the freezer, then re-heat them for your next house party. Or ask us to cater your next special event, either at your place or at a casa fox, where we can accommodate up to 45 for dinner or 60 for cocktails.

"After a long walk, searching for A casa fox, the place seem barren. I questioned making a reservation in this place. Only employees were in the restaurant. They were very kind. Knowledgeable about the food. Everyone was kind. The place had a rustic feel. The music was touchingly romantic. It felt right to pop the question to my future wife. Casa fox is a wonderful place to wine dine and surprise your love one with any question you have. Will return to A casa fox."

"Decent food, terrible terrible service- not worth the trade off. Been there numerous times and each time the waiter acts like we're burdening them and even ignores the table. THE WORST-esp for groups!"

"We were a large group here to celebrate a friends birthday saturday nite. The place has a nice cozy vibe but you re not rubbing shoulders with the next table. They didn't rush use out even though were there for about 3 hours or so. The food arrived very quickly, although it wasn't very hot. The birthday girl loved the place. Their menu's are a photo album so that was a nice comfy note."

"Went here for a birthday dinner. The restaurant has a lovely interior with a fireplace. Very cozy, friendly service and excellent food. We order several appetizer and several clay pot to share. The food is all very good. The figs with bacon is a must. Only minor gripe is I wish the portions were slightly larger but other than that will definitely return again."

"Only criticism is that the table for our big group was far too wide - you couldnt speak to the people opposite as it was pretty loud in there which slightly hampered our gathering. Rice bowls were lovely and great for gluten free people like me."

"My second time back to a casa fox! The first time was a group of six and my second trip was just with one other friend. Both times, I've enjoyed tasty food, good, friendly service, excellent wines at reasonable prices, and a nice laidback setting. It's slowly become one of my favorite tapas places and often recommend it to friends to try."
