Dining under the station clock at the Hour Time Restaurant is a Lafayette tradition. Featuring a blend of elegance and comfort with incredible food and excellent service, Hour Time is the ideal setting for business meals, romantic evenings, or family gatherings. With dining tables on four levels surrounding a forty foot live Ficus tree, the atmosphere is truly unique. Hour Time serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day of the week. Dinner, along with a menu of lighter fare, is also served in our spacious lounge area which includes a full service bar. Private dining rooms are available for parties from six to thirty. For lunch and dinner, exciting weekly specials are offered from our award winning kitchen. With our staff of experienced professionals, we can assist with any special occasion, from business meetings to birthday parties to family reunions.

"We have been going to Hour Time for 30 years. It's a great spot for special occasions. You can always rely on the food being good. It is easy to converse comfortably and they are able to accommodate larger groups. The interior is very stale and could use some remodeling/design help. Purdue has a great Interior Design program. Hour Time should consider engaging the students. It would be great experience for them to work on a real project and provide Hour Time with a much needed updated appearance."

"Nice menu with an abundance of choices in all categories. Prices were fair. The food was good but not great. The baked potato was over-cooked and not extremely hot which was surprising because we dined at 5:00 pm. Presentation was lacking on the steak entrees. The service was very friendly and it was a nice touch to have the manager stop by our table to be sure everything was to our liking."

"Went for daughter's graduation with a party of 12. Had a secluded table in a lovely nook. Service was superb, attentive and friendly. Food was excellent, steaks well prepared, desserts outstanding. Unfortunately, we probably won't be back but would definitely eat there again if we're ever back in Lafayette."

"The waitress forgot to bring my husband his water - he had to ask for it again. Several times she came back and changed what the vegetable of the day was. My dinner was supposed to come with asparagus, but it was missing. The food was good, but the decor is pretty dated, and the place smells a little musty. I don't know whether it's worth going back for the food or not."

"We were the last table of the evening. The place seemed deserted. Food and bar server were relatively invisible. My blue cheese olives came out about 15 minutes after the martini that I'd ordered with them supposedly in the drink, not on a side plate later. The meal was quite good overall however. Delicious soups. Caesar salads with no option of anchovies? This place is better than that. Steaks were delicious. Nobody rushed us out, but it was disturbing to be seated at our table, eating, drinking, and talking, and not see a single staff person for the final 20-30 minutes of our time in the restaurant. I've eaten there many times before, and have never had such a dispirited experience. I'll have to owe it up to hour time, 9:30 p.m."

"We have 3 kids. When we arrived for our reservation, they put us in the small private room right off the entrance. Was perfect for us! Server brought kids drinks in cups w/lids w/o even asking! Nice! Everything was delicious."

"ordered a flat iron steak medium well and recieved a steak that was rare at best, as waitress took the steak back to the chef she was observed picking the steak up with her bare hand. steak was brought back to me balckened on the outside but still quite pink in the middle which i refused to eat. I was not charged for the steak but unfortuantely left hungry. This is the first time i have walked out hungry; usually leaving very satisfied. You people get a raincheck but i hope my next visit will be far different than this one!"

"The food preparation and service was mediocre. For example, I ordered prime rib medium and it came out well done. Also, I had to remind the waitress a few times about items I requested. There are better restaurants in the area for the money and less money."

"Food &the service were good. Nice atmosphere, a little dated decor. My only complaint is that they served my martini in a glass that had a huge crack in it. There is no way the bartenders or waitress didn't see it. Waitress acted like it was normal when I brought it to her attention."

"We were a little disappointed in the lack of care for our attendance. We made reservations and explained we were there to celebrate the 13th wedding anniversary of the other couple we were treating to dinner. NOTHING was done. At one point we even mentioned to our server that it was the other couples Anniversary. No comment or congratulations was even offered. We were very disappointed in not being treated a little special for the occasion.."

"My 14 yr old was curious about the restaurant with the clock. She chose her birthday meal to be at Hour Time. We had 7 for dinner and requested accessible seating. To our surprise they set us up in an intimate room to the left of the hostess desk. This made my daughter feel special. It was comfortable for our party of 7 & probably would be fine for up to 10. We could all hear eachother & Reesa, our server, did a nice job. Food: Lobster Bisque- good, would have loved more lobster chunks & taste.
Tomatoe Florentine soup= great. Steaks= cooked to order prefectly! Ceasar salad-needed more garlic in the dressing, it did not have the taste you would expect. Shrimp almondine- good but shrimp should have been butterflied then battered."
