"Although I did not express my disappointment to the waiter, I was a bit dismayed that the actual presentation of the porterhouse steak that I ordered did not fit my expectations. I have eaten approximately three other times at Russell's and the service and presentation were incredible -- my waiter attentive and steak, well prepared. In fact, to this day I tell those who will listen that the best porterhouse I have eaten was at Russell's Steaks and Chops. Maybe it was because I was in the company of two, difficult individuals and they may have "thrown the server off his game", but when I ordered a "large porterhouse steak" I was given one that was pretty mundane; one that I could have easily cooked and prepared for myself (cont'd below)"

"Russell's steaks, chops and more was the best. The ambience was fabulous - an understated elegance. The wait staff was very tentative. The food was absolutely phenomenal. The couldn't do enough for us and made us all feel very special at the table. I wish to thank them all for the perfect evening for an 80th birthday party. I can not wait to come back."

"From walking into the lobby, I was sincerely impressed! It was a wonderful evening and certainly money well spent. I highly recommend the server Christopher, who himself was conscience of our needs, but never bothersome, and extremely knowledgable. My dinner of surf and turf was outstanding. Thank you for a most memborable evening, helping my husband and I celebrate 31 years of marriage!"

"My husband and I just celebrated our 41st wedding anniversary with a superb dinner at RUSSELL'S! On Christmas Eve in 1971, I received my diamond engagement ring during a dinner at Salvatore's. Over the years we always chose that restaurant for special occasions. The food is always phenomenal and the service is outstanding. And we would always be so pleased when Russell stopped by our table to inquire about our meal & experience there! Russell's has a special place in our memories and hearts."

"My family had a wonderful Mothers' Day dinner at Russel's, Mr. Russel greeted us personally and said good-bye to our party as we left which I thought made our visit personal. Our waiter was attentive, charming and witty which is refreshing in this day where most customer service is lacking significantly. Food was out of this world: everything from the appetizers through the main entrée to desert. Not to mention even the cocktails and coffee."

"The waitor who served our table at the end was very disrespectful to my family and I after I told him we were done with the dessert menu. He came back a second time and said to my wife and daughter that after asking me if I wanted anything for desert the first time I told him no. He then proceeded to ask again and said I'm not talking to you I already have your answer I was talking to the ladies. Very rude and my money will stay in my pocket the next time."

"We have been here before and will come again. We requested a booth it was our anniversary and we did not recieve one. We did however recieve a cozy corner table for two. My lamb was not as tender as I hoped but very delicious. My husband had the huge bone in ribeye and that was perfect. I had a crab fondue which was amazing. "My boyfriend and I attended Russel's for dinner on Friday for his birthday and the food was outstanding! We both love to go out to eat and have been to many restaurants before. The steak was the best steak I've ever had in my life! Our favorite part of the restaurant is the bar. So modern and sleek. Love the ambiance! The only negative critique that we had was that we were in a back room for dinner. We both would have loved the main dining room next to one of the wall fireplaces. We sat there before for Valentine's Day and it was perfect! Can't wait to come back again! Thank you for a wonderful evening!"

The Artichokes Francaise were nicely done but the breading was over salted and masked the taste. The lobster bisque was full of seafood, but also oversalted and too thick. The onion soup was excellent! The rack of lamb and filet were perfectly done. We appreciated being able to take our dessert back up to our room.

"While the food was good, we didn't think it was great and certainly wasn't worth the prices they charge. The service was great. The best part about our meal was the appetizer that our server recommended. A cheese, crab and asparagus dip that wasn't on the menu. The steak was just ok as was the chicken. $20 for 2 drinks at the bar was ridiculous The dining experience didn't live up to our expectations."

"We were celebrating a birthday and this choice for a restaurant couldn't have been better! The service was exceptional and food was spectacular. We purchased the dine and stay package and it was fabulous. We had a NY Strip Steak that was cooked to perfection and a Pork Chop that was so flavorful and tender you almost didn't need a knife. The room was very spacious (we rented the Royal Suite) and the fireplace was an added surprise. The celebration concluded with a breakfast buffet the next morning which offered something for everyone. The only disappointment of the entire stay was the bed. I would've expected the bedding to be a little more plush for the hotel but that is a personal preference. We can't wait to do it all again!"

"We enjoyed our anniversary dinner but were slightly taken aback on a few issues. Our seat had crumbs on it...was a little worried about staining our nice clothes. We also had a reservation and were suprised to be handed a buzzer to wait for a table...we expect that from Friday's but not here. The time we waited was nominal, I think the Miss that took our names could have remembered our faces if she had actually looked at us for more than 5 seconds therefore eliminating the need for the buzzer. We are easy going so that really had no effect on our evening meal. The server was courteous and attentive. The food, as usual, was phenomenal. We were pleasantly surprised when another server had remembered us from a previous visit. Excellent!"

"We had a great time during our stay at Russells. i had made a mistake and booked the Royal Suite which was way too big for just my husband and I but the room was very nice. During dinner CJ (Christopher) was a wonderful server. Actually anyone who came to the table was polite and courteous. CJ suggested a wine for my husband and it was very nice. He gave us the specials and put some of his personalit into it. He did not push us to order anything specific. I had requested a table with a fire place behind us as we were celebrating my husbands birthday and they did seat us at a wonderful table with the fireplace behind us. CJ even put a birthday candle in my husbands desert! The whole evening was very nice!"

"This is the second trip to Russell's. We enjoyed it just as much this time if not more. My steak ala russell melted in my mouth. Also, the french onion soup was one of the best I've had.
I would definitely reccommend Russell's if you haven't yet tried it.
