"wanted to try somewhere new to us - we usually only go out for special occasions - I had made reservations about a week ahead for 4 of us --- we were seated in a booth in the bar (Ihave no idea what the rest of the restaurant seating looks like; or if it has any ambiance as I only saw the bar area. Our waitress could not have been any nicer; service was good. Food was just ok; nothing was bad, it was just that nothing was "wow, this is really good". It was just very, very average. Our bill for the four of us was $170.00 without tip. I know we'll try something new next time we go out."

"We were there on a Friday at 7PM. Glad we had reservations! We ate on the lower level/ at a booth near the bar and it was energetic and a little too noisy for us. The upstairs is always louder! Hard surfaces everywhere.
My wife's Delmonico was perfectly prepared to her order- Pittsburg rare and the sides were nice and the presentation very well done !
My order, however, Chesapeake chicken was only average at best. The pecan pie we shared was homemade and excellent.
We will return but probably on a weekday M-Th for a quieter atmosphere

"I had planned a dinner for a business meeting I was having with my team. The only issue I had for this entire week was at this restaurant. Two of our team members didn't receive their food for almost 15 minutes. 15 MINUTES for two people to sit there while everyone else had their food was a lifetime. It wasn't until after I complained to the hostess, (because none of the wait staff were around often enough), that the two that were missing their meals finally receieved theirs. Everyone else waited and by that time, things started to get cold. There was an explaination given that the server put it into the computer incorrectly, but there was no apology or compensation from management for this mistake, which was still talked about in the week."

"I absolutely loved the appetizers. We got the Portabella stuffed with crab and brie and the crab bisque, which was delicious. The King crab legs were also great. The salads were tasty too. The only thing that wasn't superb was the Gulf Coast Combination. The scallops were great, but the mushroom risotto was too mushy, in my opinion, which took away from the dish. I would go back another time, but I would probably not get a dish with pasta or rice, incase it is too creamy."

"While the food was very tasty, it took several times to get it right. One of the night's appetizer specials was sold out at 7:00 which indicates very poor planning. The server was unaware of that and took far too long to come and let us know. Our soup was forgotten about completely until we finally had the chance to ask about it after we were done with our salads. Our entrees came out with the wrong starch and my fish was undercooked. For some reason, soy and wasabi was served with my blackened tuna. It made sense for the sesame option but not blackened. It got an odd look when I asked for as more appropriate dipping sauce."

"Best seafood in the area without a doubt! It is hard to get in on Friday/Saturday nights, but make a reservation in advance for special occasions and you are in store for a culinary treat! The bar area gets really loud (not recommended for families with young kids) and from the outside you would never know how nice of a place it is, but it has become a favorite. Outstanding overall experience!"

"Our waitress was abscent minded and used the fact it was busy on a Saturday night as her excuse (I am not a waitress but aren't you supposed to be busy on a Saturday night?). She did not write down our order yet we had to repeat our order to her 3 times because she did not have it right and she still brought out the wrong salads for us. My boyfriend asked for another beer and everytime she stopped by our table she asked us if there was anything we needed, my boyfriend would remind her about his beer. On her 5th visit to our table she finally brought his beer, just as I got up to head to the bar to get it myself. The food was ok and the portions were good, but we can't say we would rave over it."

"Dinned on a Tuesday night and enjoyed everything. We sat up stairs early before the 7 PM crowd arrived. One of us ordered the Crispy Fried Calamari and the other had soup. The soup was a large serving and the Calamari was well prepared. We ordered the Broiled Combination Seafood and the Stoned Crab Scampi plates. Both were well prepared, presentable, delicious and more food than we could enjoy in one sitting. We finished the evening with desert: Chocolate Torte and Peanut Butter Pie, both were very good. We were stuffed by the end of the meal and not rushed as the evening crowd settled in. The wine list was very simple but appealing. I will be visiting Stoned Crab again when I am back in the area!"

"I was really excited to go because I heard such wonderful things about the restaurant and I was really looking forward to having seafood. We were told when we personally contacted the restaurant after making on line reservations that we would be able to select items off of the dinner menu. The only items we would not have available from the dinner menu would be a baked potatoe. When we got there the information was not communicated to the staff and they did not try in the least bit to correct the miscommunication. The lunch selection was lacking in seafood options. My lemonade had particles floating in it. Another person from my party steak was overcooked. It was a very disappointing experience."

"This was the third time we have gone to the Stoned Crab, and it was the best time out of three for service and food. My 10 year old son wanted to have a "grown-up dinner" with us and enjoyed the atmosphere, which was nice, but casual enough that he did not feel stifled. Other diners were in jeans, but no one felt out of place even in a dinner jacket.
The food choices were plentiful: the baked brie with raspberries was divine, and two versions of salmon were wonderful, even the left-overs the next day. The filet mignon was well-prepared...would have been better if it had an accompanying sauce, but just my opinion.
Two Manhattans were $8.75 apiece. Total bill prior to tip was $108...only 1 adult drinking alcohol."

"The food was excellent, service was good! Even though it was Valentine's weekend and the restaurant was busy it was quiet enough to allow private conversation. Only miss was their running out of our favorite beer....both on tap and bottled."

"We have been to Stoned Crab 5-6 times before this evening. During those times, we were always seated in the upstairs area - much quieter and more subdued. I do not know if that is currently being renovated or if it was just closed during our most recent reservation there. This review is character limited, so I will simply say that we had to request water and cutlery multiple times before our waitress (who appeared incredibly overworked, but whom we spotted taking a smoke break outdoors when we entered the restaurant) delivered them. The food was excellent as always, but the service this time (unlike previously) was awful. The tip reflected it."

"we first dined at Stoned Crab couple of months ago and were blown away by the food preparation and quality but this was not the case the 2nd time around...ordered the filet mignon with crab on top and requested a medium preparation but received a well done piece of steak...my wife ordered the pecan crusted salmon and it too was over done...we ate what was presented to us because we were famished for food...we let our waitress know of our opinion so the chef is made aware..."

"Their seafood bisque was wonderful. My friend had the lobster club I think and I had the crabcake sandwich which I could only eat half and wanted to bring the rest home but forgot it. Kudos to the owner - food was great. BUT IT WAS FREEZING INSIDE. The wine warmed me a bit though. Will definitiely dine again."

"I requested a table in the dining room upstairs, however, when We arrived we were told the upstairs was closed for a private party..on a Friday night. We were seated in a booth in the bar area, it was very loud. The food was good, but I wanted a quiet dinner."

"We always enjoy the food and service at Stoned Crab. My only complaint, (which is no fault of the restaurant, and especially on this most recent visit), was the screaming child in the booth next to us, and the man adjacent to us who didnt have an "indoor voice" and essentially telling the whole floor about how he had to put his cat to sleep! But unfortunately, you'll have these people wherever you go."
