"This was the best dining experience in recent memory. We (party of 5) had a Mother's Day reservation and I'm always a bit worried about dining out on a commercial holiday but this was an amazing experience. The service was the best we have experienced in a long time. We dine out about once a week so I tend to know the difference between fair and impeccable service. As far as the food goes, there is literally something for everyone, picky eaters and foodies alike. LOVE, love, LOVE Tavern on Rush! You can't go wrong!"

"We recently dined there to celebrate our wedding anniversary and also our daughter ending her college semester in Chicago. We wanted a special night and received just that. Our waiter was very attentive and good, the food was also very good, including martinis. The best part was sitting next to the open balcony, we like indoors but since it was a beautiful night it was the best of both worlds. Can't wait to go back when I visit Chicago."

"We sat outside and was greeted right away with out server. Than placed a drink order and never got the drinks and our good was brought out. Never got noticed by the server again. We saw the server going to every other table talking but never came to us. We still had to sit for 10 minutes for our check and than took awhile got her to get the check to. The good was great but we both work in the industry and we very unhappy with the service."

"Tavern on Rush was one of my favorite restaurants when visiting Chicago. On this particular visit the service was excellent as always but the food wasn't as good as I had wanted. I ordered the special (big mistake) which was a filet with a stuffed flounder. The filet was excellent but the stuffed flounder left much too be desired. I will return as I enjoy the steaks and of course the vibrant bar scene."

"I go to tavern quite a bit. Usually just because its easy. i dont think the food is particulary special, i think its standard.
The service is actually very very bad. Downstairs int he bar the girls have no idea what they are doing, and upstairs in the dining room they interupt the tables every 5 minutes to check on you - this may seem attentive but is just plain annoying, the group cannot have a conversation without being interupted!
Of course, then when the check has been delivered you cant get them to venture near the table at all.
I will go back, but not becuase of anything outstanding, just because its easy and conveinient to my house."

"Love Tavern on Rush, we go there as often as we can. The food is to die for, the wine is amazing, and you have a great view of the plaza right across the street.
The thing you have to be wary of, this is not for the budget conscious. For three of us (with two people splitting a meal) the cost was almost $150. We knew that going in, and were fine with it. But the $30 price tag that Open Table puts on the restaurant is a little misleading. I would count on spending around $50 per person, if not more."

"Food was great, service was great, my only disappointment was the hostess and maitre D, we had a 8p reservation, and did not get seated until 8:40p, it would have been nice if they offered to get us a drink or appetizer, for having such a wait at such a late hour.

"Overall very good. However, I confirmed three times that it was my husbands 40th birthday and was told we would get a special dessert. This did not happen and the waiter was not very friendly. Still, a good meal and fun atmosphere."

"We really enjoyed the food and ambiance of Taven on Rush. Our server was awesome and made the experience more enjoyable. The only complaint we have (and we nearly left the restaurant) was that we waited 45 min to be seated for our reservation. I know the hostess overheard our debate about leaving and then pushed the manager to seat us. We ended up with a great table overlooking the streetscape. However I am not sure that we would wait that long for a reservation again. But again the food and server made up for the wait"

"Went here Saturday afternoon and they were packed but not so much we had to wait or anything! Had a last minute reservation and went right to our table! Our waitress seemed a bit distracted and was a little slow, but we weren't in a huge hurry so it was OK. I had the BLT and it was perfect! The fries are great too. I went with my boyfriend and his parents which was a GREAT place for this kind of lunch ;)

"The appetizers and entrees were great, but our waiter wasn't good. Didn't get his name but he was a taller guy with a foreign accent. Our food order was placed no more than five minutes after the other group we were with sitting at an adjacent table. The other group was finished eating their entrees before we even received ours and he never came to aoologize or update us on any issues that might have slowed the preparation of our order. I'm sorry I didn't get his name so I could have told management but since it was a company dinner, I let it go."

"We come to Chicago for a week every February for a conference/meetings. We are always looking for restaurants to try, and this year it was Tavern. We saved it for our last dinner and were pleasantly surprised! The food was the best we had all week, and we dined at some of the top restaurants in Chicago. The service was amazing, and the view over Rush St. was nice. Tavern will be on our list for next year for sure!"

"Tavern on Rush has been around a long time, but we never ate their until now. The service was great and the food was excellent! We were promptly seated at table by window as requested to watch the Rush Street activities. I started with the tomato soup and my wife with the French Onion, both were outstanding. My wife had the special which was Chilean Sea Bass which she thoroughly enjoyed and I had the Kobe Burger which was made to perfection. Portions were good so we could not eat dessert. Now that we know the quality of Tavern on Rush, we would definately dine here again."

"I came here on Valentine's Day. The service I received by the waiter was terrible. He has poor listening skills. I asked for a glass of wine and he brought is back in a flute (champagne glass), which means I got less wine than I would've in an actual wine glass. When ordering my food, I asked for a twice baked potato, not only did he forget that I ordered a bake potato but when it was finally brought to me, it was a regular baked potato. This made me mad because his reaction was I thought this is what you wanted. It's not about what you thought, it's about what you heard and if you didn't hear me correctly just ask for me to repeat myself. The waiter then proceeded to fill up my dates glass of water but refused to refill mine. Just terrible"
