YUCA, an acronym for Young Urban Cuban-Americans, is widely known as being South Florida's original upscale Cuban restaurant featuring Innovative Nuevo Latino Cuisine or as the locals call it "Nuevo Latino." This style of cooking includes traditional Latin ingredients such as a plethora of textures, colors, and flavors that when combined creates a cuisine that is unique to anything offered outside of the Caribbean and Latin America.

"The overall experience was fantastic. My family went to celebrate Mother's Day for Dinner and we were blown away with the delectable cuisine and the level of service. Our server Hermes was very knowledgeable and his suggestions were well received. I had a plantain crusted mahi mahi which was delicious and tender. My father had the mothers day special which included an appetizer, entree and dessert for $38 (the entree featured a variety of meats and perfect for sampling) Hermes and the manager were attentive and would pass by the table every so often to check on us. working in the luxury hotel business, you have a certain service level that you expect from other hotels and restaurants and this is certainly one venue you want to visit!"

"Our waiter could care less about serving us.
The busboy gave us more service then the waiter and to that I tipped the busboy. The resaraunt added the tip on to my bill as many S Florida places seem to do, but I wanted to acknowledge the help the busboy gave us."

"We had a great time at Yuca! We sat outside and tried several of the authentic Cuban dishes on the menu. Service was excellent. Food was good- portions are moderate. The only disappointment was that we purposely reserved dinner at a time when they were supposed tone offering salsa lessons. We wanted to take lessons but they were not being offered that night due to a private party... We'll go back!"

"Sat outdoors on a beautiful Miami evening. Everything we tasted was incredible. Empandas with a kicking side sauce and the best hummus i have ever tasted for appetizers. Paella for the main dish was mouthwatering and a tres leches dessert that made me want seconds. Excellent wine selection... I'm definitely in love with their food."

"Reservations were for 7:30 for a group of 3. We arrived early but were seated at 8 PM. I little long to stand around. It was raining outside and the bar area is small so there was no place to sit. There was a large group (bus load) of people arriving about 8 and they seated them right away. Once seated the service was very poor. After the large group got their entree, about 9 PM, we finally had adequate service. The food was very good.
In general, this is a very load palce to eat so I do not recommed it for a business meeting. I also to not like the practice of automotically adding a gratuity to the bill. I really wanted to like this place but won't go back."

"I was going to Florida for a vacation with my bofriend and spending a night at South Beach. I was researching places to eat that were not going to be 100 dollar a plate prices. Or even 50 a plate prices. I found Yuca, the reveiws were great, and it was not going to break the bank.So we arrive fro a reservation, a tad early, but were seated. It was by no means empty, but not packed. It was about 7:00. So, we were greated quickly, and teh waitor told us that if we had any questions, he was there for us.
The food, was absolutely outstanding. I had the paella nad my outher half orded the skirt steak, and fried calamari which is toppped with peppers and onions and a chili dipping sauce. Everything was devine. So, on an end note. Delis"

"We enjoyed the food and ambiance although it was hard to carry on a conversation indoors. It might have been more relaxing if we had eaten outside but the cigarette smoke would have been a problem there.
The quacamole appetizer was excellent. The calamari and crab cakes were good but nothing special. I was expecting a little more crab and less breading in the cakes and the calamari to be a little crisper."

"My daughter works on Lincoln road, thus she has a chance to try out many different "trendy" restaurants located on arguably the most "Miami Beach-ish" venue. A place to stroll around, enjoy open bars and restaurants, be chic, be trendy, dress skimpily, flirt, seen and be seen.

"The menu features a very good assortment of modern Cuban American specialties. Everything was well prepared except for the grilled octopus, which was undercooked and rubbery.
The wine list was varied and bottles started at about $35.
There were three options for dining: upstairs with live music, downstairs in the main dining room, or outside on Lincoln Road mall. Outside, is probably the most moderate option in terms of noise.
Our server was very attentive and offered us helpful tips when we were on the fence between two different entrees."

"To sum up: Yuca is an "eh" place in a great location. What I liked about Yuca was that it was located in a vibrant part of Miami Beach with plenty to do after dinner. It also looks as if there were salsa dance classes on the upstairs level, which alas I couldn't join because of a sprained ankle. The food was just ok, nothing that I tasted really impressed me and the mojito I had was aweful- the mint was grinded up and tasted more like grass than mint. I might recommend this place to friends, strickly for the package of having fair food, people watching and the option of salsa classes. Don't bother going just for the food."

"made reservations at lunch on saturday for 3. Was seated promptly at 12:30 as pre rez.
Food arrived at 1:30 and was ordered at 12:40. Waiter was clueless and not at all apologetic.

"We noticed Yuca around lunch & we would head back for dinner...they played lively Latin music & the menu looked great. At dinner however it was more of a party scene with no Latin music to enjoy. When we arrived promptly for our reservation, we were told 10-15 min wait. Then around 25 min later she said we should close our bar tab. Then it was more & more of a wait.. Finally I got the attention again of the manager & he found us a table, by adding an extra table, etc. So after 1 hour and 15 minute wait, the manager comp'd our 3 drinks. The food was great but in their rush to get others seated quickly... As a waiter was moving chairs over our heads, one hit the man seated next to us! Did not seem organized at all and ruined our experience!"

"We went there for a bachelorette party - great drinks and tapas to get us fueled and happy before a big night out. The service was excellent, the food alone got me (as Maid of Honor) lots of positive feedback, and the drinks are awesome. They put us in a separate back area so we felt attended to and special - thanks for a perfect night!"

"My wife and I dined at Yuca shortly after it opened at their current location and were excited to see it was still there after 16 years upon our return to Miami. We were seated outside shortly after our arrival, amongst the vibrant street scene on Lincoln Mall road. We started with an amazing guacamole with plantain chips and drinks (try the mojitos), followed by delicious goat cheese with spinach and seared tuna with spicy vinaigrette and mango salads. The mains consisted of whole snapper and macadamia crusted Mahi Mahi, both of which were spectacular in both flavor and presentation. To finish we enjoyed a coffee flavored flan that was to die for. The service was prompt and unobtrusive. We can't wait to return."
