"A vanishing breed between its kind, Arte Restaurant is one of those quiet, beautiful, best kept secrets with a comfortable, homey ambiance. The fireplaces, the outside garden and the romatic atmosphere combine smoothly with the Northern Italian cuisine.
Try the Ravioli Aurora experience, sip the fantastic wines conveyed by charismatic staffers because in Arte our patrons are part of the family."
"My wife and I have been going to Arte for a long time. Most of the time, the food is excellent. We are always treated well. The atmosphere is comparable to restaurants that we love in Italy. Except for the fact that prices are very high, we rarely have a complaint."

"Our food was delicious, the service was great, but it is expesnive for what you get. this is in our neighborhood and we would make it a staple, but for the fact that. Portions were small and for pastas in the 20s, they shouldn't be."

"Went to Arte for the second time and it was everything I thought it was the first time! We had great service, good wine and most importantly great food. I took my daughter there this time before a show and we really enjoyed the quiet atmosphere. Arte is my go to place in the East Village."

"Arte was so cozy on a chilly night with its two fireplaces warming the lovely room that the food was almost secondary - but thankfully it was a delicious meal as well. Starting at the bar with a good glass of wine, the service was so friendly and indulgent I almost felt like a guest in a friend's home. An appetizer special of scallops and grilled zucchini was phenomenal, and the lobster ravioli was a delicious pasta course. The chicken dish I ordered was a little overcooked, but the saute was good. Desserts were nice, not spectacular, but we lingered over our coffee and enjoyed the fire and were encouraged to stay as long as we liked. It was a lovely, intimate dining experience and I would definitely recommend and return."

"We will never eat at this restaurant again. We have eaten here before, however, the service Saturday evening was completely unacceptable. We had a reservation and were not seated for almost 45 minutes. The owner had told us a table had paid and would be leaving shortly, but the owner then proceeded to sit at the table with the occupants, and actually sat there most of the evening talking, while we had to sit at the bar waiting for another table to open up. I have never experienced such rude behavior. And the wait time for each course was ridiculously long. Overall one of the worst dining experiences we have had in NY, and we are New Yorkers who dine out often."

"We ate at Arte last night with a group of five and we all enjoyed our meals. The food was very good, especially enjoyed the appy special of grilled eggplant with mozzarella and a touch of truffle oil. We sat right in front of one of the fireplaces and the decor was charming with a nice bar area. The service was attentive but not intrusive, which is top notch in our opinion. I would recommend Arte to anyone in the area of the Village. I plan on going back in a few months when we have tickets to a show at Webster Hall. Looking forward to seeing if Arte lives up to my high opinion on the second visit."

"Very pleasant, calm and relaxing place. Friendly and hospitable staff from bartender to owner who greeted us to busboys. Feels like a tight knit family. Food was very very good. I recco."

"My boyfriend and I were pleasantly surprised with the quality of Italian food and amazing service. We had never heard of Arte but were craving Italian on a Saturday night and they took reservations at 8pm. Our leisurely dinner started with an amuse bouche, and ended with complimentary drinks from an appreciative, warm server. Not a trendy place, but for serious foodies who enjoy the fine dining experience, you will not be disappointed! Skip the bread basket, and order one or two of the creative appetizers or specials!"

"We went there for Valentine's Day because it was where we had out first date. It was very good then and it was very good now. They made it very special for the holiday."

"My girlfriend and I spent our first Valentine's Day together here for dinner. We were greeted warmly upon entering, and given options for our seating (we had made reservations and two tables were open) We chose to sit in the back as it seemed more quiet/cozy. We were then attended to by a very friendly, knowledgable and attentive staff; between the bussers, the Somalie and our server. We had a lovely and delicious meal which was off of a prix fixe menu (the only part that caught me by surprise, that it was only the valentine's day menu, but it was still delicious) We also enjoyed my specialty martini which the bar tender did a great job with and a very nice bottle of wine. All in all, a fantastic experience, and a place I would return to."
