"Our dinner for four was OK. The food was delicious and very nicely presented. Service was fine. The one serious down side for us was the extreme noise. It was nearly impossible to hear the person across the table. We visited on a Tuesday at 7 PM, not a raucous Saturday night, so I can't imagine what it might be like then. Over all, we will consider going back because of the quality of the food, but the atmosphere left something to be desired."

"This was not our first time at The Arms Reach Bistro and for good reason. We absolutely love the place and will continue to return as often as we can. Great Food, Atmosphere and Service all in one Location. Tough to beat that now a days. This time however we had 2 other couples with us and like us they thoroughly enjoyed themselves,the service,the food everthing we've come to expect at The ARB was as usual ( Exceptional )"

"It has been a few years since we last dined at Arm's Reach and I have to say the years have been kind.
The furnishings are vastly improved - much more comfortable seating for example.
The food has improved as well. There's more variety and the evening we were there the menu was only a few days away from the switch into spring. Which I don't recall being done before.
Service was outstanding. Lisa was timely, attentive without being an imposition and amusing as well.
Last but not least the location cannot be beat. Deep Cove is one of the prettiest spots in all of Metro Vancouver."

"I mentioned in my online reservation that we were celebrating an anniversary. We were seated at a front window seat as requested and were served prosecco in fluted glasses, a nice gesture that was much appreciated. We both decided on the pre fixe dinner as our server Lisa described it so exquisitely. The tuna tartare tacos were spicy and mouthwatering. The paella was flavourful and visually pleasing. The hot chocolate and sizzling chirros were a precise sweet note. And we were very impresses with the wine pairings for each course. Lisa proved to be knowledgeable about the wines selonly wish we knew about the previous themed pre fixe menu from before. We will make a point to come out again for the next menu. Well done and well priced."

"This dining experience was a challenge! Arms Reach reminds me of a restaurant in a very busy tourist area. When things go wrong, they don't care if you come back or not. Food was good but service poor. Arrived for lunch early, chose food and then was told they were out of the soup & also forgot items. Then they really mishandled a challenging service situation. Apparently much earlier, the debit card machine went down and could only pay with credit card. We were told only when I went to pay. Then tried with American Express and was then told by the manager they didn't take it. The reason? The fees were too high. Shouldn't restaurants want every method of payment? Disappointing and embarrassing! No extra effort made to invite back."

"The Arm's Reach has long been a neighbourhood favourite and also has the distinction for attracting diners from other areas of the North Shore (and beyond). the atmosphere lends to a special "date" or a leisurely "catch-up" with old friends. The menu is diverse enough to ensure everyone in your party finds a favourite and the food is fresh, hot and tastey (my trio). Deserts are wonderful and like the entrees, the portions are substantial. This place never fails to impress. Thank-you for continuing to get it right!"

"This was one of the best meals I've had in a long time and I eat out pretty regularly. My dining partner had the prix fixe meal which included wine pairings with each course, a great value for $40 (available Monday and Tuesday nights). It featured perfectly cooked steelhead trout sitting in a heavenly spicy lobster infused broth. We shared the calamari, which was excellent. For my main course I had the ling cod with corn and chorizo risotto and that was delicious as well. The atmosphere was cozy and intimate with a great view of Deep Cove. I will definitely be back!"

"Was looking for a cozy, nice-but-not-stuffy, place with good food for an anniversary and was not disappointed. Staff was quite friendly and attentive on a busy Friday night. We had 8:30pm reservations, looked like just after the peak of the evening crowd. We started with some calamari which was good. After reading reviews, I had the "Angry Chicken" which was indeed pleasingly crisp on the outside, moist on the inside, with a nice savory sauce. I thought it was rather unique and enjoyed it, some (not me) may find it a bit on the salty side. We each had a glass of wine from their nice selection of wines by the glass. Nice waterfront walk below the restaurant for after dinner. Overall, 4 and 1/2 stars - I will definitely return."

"We were served by Kristie. Excellent service! Kristie was friendly and attentive and added to the enjoyment of our meal. The pasta was excellent! This would be a great place to take visitors, especially on a sunny day. They also have a patio that overlooks the beautiful water and mountains of Deep Cove!"

"Arms Reach has been our go-to place for years. The food is always exceptional and the view of Deep Cove changes with the seasons.
The Bistro is very popular and with that, I guess, you eventually lose a bit of the affordability and down to earth nature of the place. It has become a bit more pricey and formal over the years but we always feel the meal justifies this.
They have added some specials, such as the popular Wed night Pasta special: $14 for a pint of a local microbrew beer and plate of pasta ( that weeks creation). The bread is a sourdough I believe and very yummy.

"This restaurant is situated in a beautiful location overlooking the harbour in Deep Cove. We had a lovely window seat that afforded great views. We ate early as this place is popular even on a Wed evening. Our waitress was outstanding providing absolutely impeccable service with a great smile and genuine sense of caring. The food was good but not outstanding. My wife and I shared a delicious pasta as our starter(liguini with chorizo sausage, prawns and a spicy red sauce). For our mains my wife had a nice but not particularly memorable tenderloin (a bit bland) and I had lamb shoulder which was just OK. For dessert the raspberry creme brulee was superb. In all a very pleasant evening."

"Arrived early and walked around a little before heading over to the bistro for dinner before the theatre.....def. don't judge a book by the cover...outside does not reflect the inside! it was warm, inviting, friendly, cozy, and service, food, wine, all were excellent and exceeded our expectations....we will def. go back there!"

"I've been here a couple of times with friends or family from north van. A nice place to take my senior auntie for a Sunday brunch. Great servers, and the meals all came out at once, and all seemed to be appropriate temperature, signalling that the kitchen staff timing was good. We were a party of four, with varying orders, and it didn't appear that one of them sat cold, in order for the cooking staff to get caught up on the others, which is a frighteningly common experience in even some of the very expensive restaurants downtown.
All in all, a positive experience. I recommend a reservation, even on a Sunday, as the restaurant is relatively small, and has been quite busy when I've visited.."

"Host very friendly.....made us feel welcome. Server did not rush us, knowledgeable about the menu items, checked to see if we were satisfied with our meals etc. The bar crowd was a bit noisy at times,(seemed like locals) but not too disturbing. Enjoyed the ambiance of the restaurant decor and layout, didn't feel crowded by other patrons. A bit over-priced (about 5% based on competitive options)"

"I've never ordered the beef dip and this time I did.This was an excellent choice.It came stacked high with tender and succulent slices of lean beef, and held together with cheese and caught between sides of brioche that was buttery and soft.The au jus was perfectly salted.The fries were crispy-tender and HOT!We enjoyed this meal very much and would highly recommend it.The restaurant was quite despite it being a Saturday and rather sunny, which was a pleasant change as we felt like sitting back and nursing their excellent de-caff coffee.The server was very prompt, discreet, and friendly.The food arrived quickly, and piping hot as did the coffee refills.This is still our favourite place to come on the North Shore."

"I was kind of disappointed with my dining experience. We usually have a great meal at this restaurant. This was my husband's birthday dinner. We were seated for our 6:00 reservation and drinks were ordered and appetizers. Everything was going smoothly. Then the restaurant got busier and our dinner orders took over one hour to arrive. I was not impressed and the poor waitress came over and apologized and told us the kitchen was backed up. The water glasses did not have ice in them which I find very odd. The cutlery was not replaced after we finished our appetizers. My husband ordered from the dine out menu. He had the veal and was not impressed. He said it tasted like it had been sitting for awhile. Not going back for a long time."

"I was treated very kindly at Arms Reach. I requested to play a song for my girlfriend and I's anniversary and the manager kindly did so. The view and ambiance was extremely warm and romantic. While the entrees were delicious, I found the appetizers to be overpriced due to the tiny amount of food provided. Overall, an excellent evening and I would go there again for a special occasion."

"Our favorite restaurant, by far, in Vancouver. Food is always of very high quality and the wine list holds something to enhance everyone's meal no matter the budget or taste. It is a nice romantic getaway from the stressful world if only for a couple hours. If you really want a great experience, look for Christie's section - she is fantastic!"
