"We happened to be there on a night that was a 50's theme night with a band and we sat two tables away from the band which was rather loud. Our food was good but portion are very small and other than 4 sprigs of asparagus my fish didn't come with anything else. Definitely disappointed"

"Very confusing when you first walk in to know where to check in for a reservation. The food was VERY overpriced for the portions you got. The pasta fagoli tasted like ministone soup and the caesar salad was VERY small (and expensive!) The $10 ice cream consisted of 2 - 3 scoops of ice cream, 2 VERY small but delicious brownies, a tiny layer of nutella and whip cream.
The service was very good, except confusing. Every time we were served something it was by another person, but yet our water glasses remained empty."

"Nicchio was a great experience all around. The food was all amazing. Italian sushi? Really? So good. We also had little neck clams and an eggplant appetizer all some of the best I've had in a while. They have a lot of gluten free options and the fish was super fresh and perfectly cooked. The server was knowledgable and attentive. There was live music on the Saturday night we went so it may be a tad loud for some. I hate loud restaurants and I was fine and we actually hung at the bar and listened to them after dinner. Highly recommend."

"Food was ok but nothing was amazing. Entrees served small portions in a giant bowls! Chicken parm portion was very large and good. Desserts were yummy as were the cocktails. I had hoped the homemade pasta would be better, unfortunately not wowed. Nicchio's is overpriced for the area and the restaurant itself. Service was perfect-enough said! Also it is a noisy restaurant because the bar is right there. Def a special occassion or group place but not a regular on my list."

"My husband and I are foodies, always have been. We've been all over the planet, & have eaten at some of the best restaurants in the world, so when we eat out, we never know what to expect. Nicchio is an old place, with a huge bar, which was hopping! The dining room, which is where we sat, is more sedate, and very old and dated, a typical, old Jersey shore restaurant. The waitress was fantastic! The food was okay. The fried calamari was pretty good. My husband had fettucine with a pork ragu, I had pasta with sausage & broccoli rabe. Both were pretty decent. It's good, home style cooking. Nothing fancy or innovative. Will we go back? Maybe."

"The pork ragu w/ fettucini was much too sweet - both my husband & i could not even eat it - we changed it out for the linguini & clams & that was so overpowering with garlic, that we could not eat that also. The Peroni on tap was good - first time we had it on tap. The appetizers were good - we had the fried calamari & the cheese board & salami's but i don't think you could go wrong with those dishes. Unfortunately, the entrees were too overpowering with spices & the salad needed more flavor, maybe more salt!"

"What a find. We absolutely loved the experience. The food was outstanding, service great and ambience wonderful. We all had the Caesar salad. I had the salmon that was lovely. My son had the orecciette with sausage. He always picks the best entre. My husband had the veal saltimboca which was excellent. Dessert consisted of tiramisu and creme brûlée,both of which were yummy. We especially loved the olive oil with pesto to dunk he bread in. I could have eaten that all night. I highly recommend Nicchio's."

"The food was generally good. The homemade pasta was excellent although when I reheated my leftovers at home, the amount of oil in the carbonara was gross. The paella had seafood that was overcooked. The fried calamari was perfectly cooked. We did not have dessert since our food took a long time to get to us (and it wasn't very crowded)."

"It's hit or miss for us when we go to Nicchio; probably won't return because the last few trips were misses. Calamari very chewy. When our waitress took the near full plate away and asked if everything was OK with the dish, we explained why it wasn't OK and got a raised eyebrow in reply. Second time I ordered the Lattuga salad and kicked myself for paying $8. for a few leaves of lettuce and barely a sliver of pear. What happened? This salad used to be terrific. Last trip, way overdone chicken parm. On the other hand, the orichiette dish with sausage and brocolli rabe is always great, nice desserts, nice wine list and generally good service."
