"We chose Briarhurst for our shared birthday dinner because we had eaten there only once before (Murder Mystery) and we had a $25 gift certificate. We were promptly seated at a corner table in a cozy upstairs room, the only ones for most of our meal. Our five course dinners began with amuse bouche of goat cheese, grape, and smoked duck breast; tasty. My wife had the tomato heart of palm bisque; very good. I enjoyed the nicely sized Cara's salad. I asked for steak Diane well done and it was close. The crust on the potato cakes had a bit too much coconut. My wife's sea scallops were huge. Both dishes were on the salty side. The sides were good. Yummy cognac pumpkin cheesecake and double chocolate orange tarte finished us off."

"We had a tremendous time. It was our first night without kids in 10 years and we had a nice, romantic evening. It was beautiful weather and not only was the service and food great but we found the waitress to be a joy to talk to as well. It may have been our first visit but it will not be our last."

"Briarhurst Manor is a great place to experience fine dining. It's romantic from the moment you pull in to the parking lot with it's great scenery, beautiful building, and cozy dining areas. The pacing of the evening was perfect and the food was incredible. My wife and I had a wonderful evening!"

"We took my wife here for Mother's Day (actually on Saturday night). My wife and I usually dine here a couple times a year for a date night or special occasion. This was the first time I have taken the entire family and they all enjoyed it. As always, the service was exceptional and the food was awesome. I would highly recommend Briarhurst Manor and will definitely be back again."

"With a menu that yields this much money per plate, one would think they would also receive a top notch server. Instead we received service from a young lady, who if I didn’t know any better would think this was her first day in the food services, let alon working in an high priced restaurant.
Come on Briarhurst Manor, spend more time training your staff before turning them loose on your customers"

"My wife and I went for Easter Sunday Brunch. It was delicious -- a large spread of a wide variety of foods, including an omelette station and a carving station (roast beef and lamb). Most people were seated in a spacious, open, and bright conservatory area. I initially was sorry that we were seated in the interior of the old mansion; but later I came to appreciate the soft background music, and the overall quiet ambiance of the place. We very much enjoyed our brunch."

"The restaurant itself is great, although access is a challenge, especially during cold weather. We, unfortunately, were put in a room with a LOUD table of three (man, woman and teenage girl) who didn't really care that they were being disruptive to others' experiences there. If I had to do it over again, I would ask for a private room. We paid too much for the ambiance to be ruined by impolite people."

"The menu at Briarhurst is "old school" - nothing wrong with that, but nothing that will surprise your palate. Between my wife and I we had the broccoli onion soup, lamb chops, chateaubriand, creme brulee and pumpkin cheesecake. Each dish was very well prepared and plated, tasty, and temperature appropriate (the soup, we agreed, was an exceptionally good dish). Server was friendly, attentive, seemed to enjoy her job, and didn't address us 'you guys', which I appreciated, as my wife is not a guy. The building itself apparently is of significant historical value, but seems a bit underplayed and could use a bit of professional updating. The parking lot was a muddy mess the night we were there."

"Parking lot is not paved and poorly lit; difficult to find one's way at night and with puddles and ice on the parking lot surface. Dress shoes could ensiled become muddied. Trout was overly salted and its accompanying pasta over cooked."

"The food was very good. Very quiet and intimate place to dine. If you've been here any time in the past 20 years, nothing has really changed. This is not your modern, hip place to go, but if you're looking for good food in a unique old world setting, this is your spot!"

"The Briarhurst is a wonderful & romantic place for dinner. The 5 course dinner is a wonderful deal, made even better by the Living Social special purchased! The Chicken & Beef Wellington ordered were made to perfection & we did not regret our choices! Definitely a place to go to when you can splurge ;)."

"Too pricey for most budgets. Food was good and presented well. The ambiance was fine. Reservation was handled just fine. The restaurant needs to pay attention to the parking lot...it is dimly lit and still have snow/ice on it."

"I wanted to make sure that this Valentines Day was special and Briarhurst Manor made that happen. It was my first time ever eating at a high class restaurant so I didn't know what to really expect. The five course meal was exquisite, beautifully presented, and well worth the money. At the end of dessert they even brought my girlfriend a rose. We are already planning the next time we can go back."
