"Everything was great except...I was having a birthday dinner for my 85 year old father-in-law and his family and friends. Luckily, he and his wife were very spry!!! But 2 of his family members had to leave without dinner - and joining in the celebration - even though they drove 2 HOURS just to be there - because there was NO ELEVATOR - and they couldn't make it up the many - and steep - stairs!!!

My husband and I were considering joining the private club there, but now we're not too sure!"

"We dined at 619 Ocean View and enjoyed a wonderful evening. From the moment we arrived we were treated with the utmost service and friendliness. The General Manager greeted us at our table, explained and suggested wines and recommneded dinner selections. The service was outstanding and the food was fabulous. I would highly recommend this restaurant. I would like to go on a night when the moon is shining - I think the view of the ocean would be breathtaking."

"The service was terrible. When you are charging $166 for two (including an 18% automatic gratuity) your staff needs to be intimately familar with the menu (see Ruth's Chris or 3 Forks).

The complementary valet was not available, as the driver hadn't arrived when the restaurant opened. Our steaks were not a prime cut of meat. In addition, mine was cooked incorrectly; I asked for medium rare, Pittsburgh style and was served medium-well, plain. The center of my chocolate truffle cake was cold. The drinks were too strong to enjoy, as you could only taste burn.

The best parts of the meal were the Boston bibb salad and the view. Overall, a poor experience."

"We went on a rather cloudy night, but when the clouds parted, all tables had a magnificient view of the moonlit ocean. The food was exceptionally well prepared, and all fresh ingredients. The service manager checked on us and noticed that I was enjoying a dish they were removing from the menu, so she went down to the kitchen and they gave me the recipe! It was an absolutely wonderful experience."

"Jeff, our waiter, was fantastic. We had a crab dip appetizer, the ribeye and the coconut shrimp for our entrees. All three were excellent, as were the cocktails Jeff mixed up for us. The view is great in daylight hours. You can't tell you're oceanfront at night, however. The restauarant wasn't very busy so it was very quiet -- too quiet. Don't show up early for a cocktail either -- the bar area is for members only. The food and service was easily good enough for us to go back again."
