Provence Marinaside's award-winning food, warm ambiance, and friendly service turns every meal into a special occasion. Fresh local seafood; raw oyster bar; extensive wine list; takeout; gourmet picnic basket.
Dinner is served seven nights a week. Breakfast and lunch served Monday to Friday. Brunch is served on Saturday and Sunday. Afternoon Tea available by reservation.
A visit to Provence transports you to the South of France without the jetlag.

"I was here on mother's day and had a great dinner with my family. Despite the fact that service was slow and the waiters didn't really have time to help us much, I just attributed it to a busy mother's day at the restaurant and returned today with my friends for brunch. Brunch was excellent but the service was unimpressive. Lots of waiters around but I'm not sure if it's disorganization or if it's really short-staffed, but we had to ask to get our water refilled, asked for the bill twice and waited 10 minutes for it; no one came to ask if the food was alright; when I stood up to ask for the bill again, I was asked to sit down because the hallway is crowded :((((("

"Came for lunch to celebrate a birthday. The menu of the day was a perfect fit for all of us. Two shared the boccicini tomato salad and roast veggies to start, while the other two shared the peppers with goat cheese and the pisaladiere. Mains consisted of the mushroom ravioli, spagattini with seafood and salmon, all pronounced excellent and ample. The wine menu is easy to navigate and we chose an excellent Pinot Gris. We managed to force down the candle lit khalua chocolate cake which arrived on a plate decorated with chocolate "Happy Birthday" .
The service was prompt, professional and efficient. The restaurant's music was background only and allowed us to hear our own conversations and not the table's next to us. A very lovely day."

"Had razor clams and steamed mussels for appetizers - definitely would go for the clams again next time, but I've had better steamed mussels (portion size was a bit small too). Halibut was great and so was the dorade fillet. Creme brulee and cheesecake for desserts - both are good but very sweet. Waitress was nice and attentive, but didn't seem to know the specials and had to read off of her cheat sheet. I would definitely be returning to this restaurant with my friends."

"It is not a surprise that this restaurant is always packed. Outstanding food and service are just part of what Provence Marinaside has to offer. "I went here last Saturday for Mother's day. I expected white table cloths, dinning room chairs, etc. instead I got a diner feel to it. The table and chairs didn't match the price range lingo. To top that I had a reservation and our table wasn't even ready. This is also the first time I've tried this restaurant. I would expect, for the price they charge for the meals, they would have some class like Cloud 9 or Seasons at the Park or even Joe Fortes. Also our table should have been ready, even if we were 5 mins early or even 10 mins early for that matter.
Though the food was really good, waiters were dressed well and gave a welcoming smile. The decor is really missing a lot. I've seen better."

"This was my top choice for the venue to entertain visitors from out of town. It did not disappoint in terms of the quality of the food and the service. My guests were very pleased with the evening. Service was prompt and unobtrusive. The only negative aspect was the level of noise from two of the tables in our area; one was particularly bad as I think the two men had a bit too much to drink and were quite loud to the point of being obnoxious. Fortunatley they left part way through our meal so we did not have to endure their boisterous behaviour the entire evening. The other table was a group of 4-5 people, but they were only noisy at times."

"Four of us had diner at Provence on Saturday night~~loved the food, the halibut was fantastic and a friend really enjoyed the lamb chops. Plenty of tapas style appetizers if you like and a great wine list too. My only complaint was the decibel level in the restaurant. It was difficult to have a conversation around the table as we couldn't hear one another! I have noted this problem in the past but I don't think there is a solution. Once the weather improves the outdoor patio is available and it is quieter. Over all we all had a lovely evening, great food, good service and a definite Provencal feel! We will all return."

"This was the perfect setting for a special occasion family dinner. The food was fantastic, the service warm and top-notch. I loved the way our server attended to us but also left us to talk and enjoy each other's company. We stayed for almost four hours and never felt rushed. Our meal was delicious, and all of us had an excellent time - our ages ranging from 35 to 65."

"Have been wanting to try this restaurant for a while, and glad we had the chance. Lucky for us they had the fish festival promotion and we were able to try some very nice offerings. Never seen a full fish on offer before and it was quite a treat - took 1/2 the fish home as left overs. "I have eaten at Provence at least a dozen times and, obviously, think their food is very good. Indeed, it is one of the steadiest restaurants I have known for food quality. The interior ambiance of the restaurant is not great, however. Decor is not their long suite. Moreover, tables are jammed in pretty tight and the concrete box of the restaurant makes dining noisy. Service is also not a strength. It has never been terrible but never been particularly good either. It rather falls between the stools of informal and fine dining and additional training & monitoring of serving staff wouldn't hurt. Location, the freshness of the food, the careful preparation and excellent presentation are the things that keep me coming back."

"Looking to support DOFL and found two lunch spots so I picked PM for our group. Our table for 6 was 1/2booth and 1/2 chairs, very awkward for the server and difficult to share food and talk. Servers were available and the restaurant was not full, but they were not attentive enough-very passive-we asked rather than server asking us. Water service was not regular and I thought we were at the Elbow Room at one point! Fish Trio was delicious and complimented well with the salad - light yet filling for lunch. Good coffee to end the meal. Too bad the server did not know about DOFL and came back to say it was on for the dinner service! So disappointed. Another reason to call the restaurant rather than rely on online information."

"Attended a terrific birthday dinner with two friends this past weekend. Great menu and super wine list, lots to choose from. If I had any complaint it would be that we had too much food. I thought the 'bites' would be spoon-sized and they are huge, you could make a meal out of them; one is more than enough. I also had the salmon special, loved it, good choice. The lavender grand marnier cheesecake is one of the nicest I have ever tried. The service was excellent and unobtrusive, so all in all I would say we had a delightful experience."

"I went to this restaurant to celebrate my birthday. My friends carried a cake as a surprise to me. They charged $3 for each person in our table because they said they will cut the cake for us which I think it is reasonable ans acceptable. After I blowed the candle they brought the cake into their kitchen and helped us to cut the cake. When our cake came out, we found we only got a part from the cake. So, where is the other part of my birthday cake? The waiter said that's all! What a lie!!! I like their foods. But I don't like dishonest service that makes me like a fool."

"This wasn't our first time visiting this charming restaurant. The other times we sat outside in the summer and enjoyed the grest view. Good place to take visiting family and have a good time. Food was really good as was the service."

"This restaurant used to be a gem, the food has gone way down hill. This is a shame as Yale town is loaded with great places to eat. Provence Marinaside is NOT one of them. The Salmon looks and tastes like it was purchased at Safeway frozen and the main plates are boring and lack inspiration. A poorly cooked previously frozen piece of salmon on a scoop of mashed potatoes infused with smoked trout and a few sprouts for 32 dollars? Money does not matter at all to me and I will pay 50.00 for a plate but I expect something I cannot make at home.
Provence won't be around much longer if they keep this up. Shame."

"went first time during DOV 2013. their service was superb. love the bread that comes out before meal (free refill). all appetizers were salad which doesn't seems to be enough choices. entree was a good portion. (i was really full) for dessert they actually let you choose among their regular dessert menu (~10 different choices) and it was really good because its not limited to 1 or 2 like the other restaurants. i had the dessert of the day which was a creme caramel which was excellent. their DOV is extended to march 3rd. good place to try out."

"Provence was very good as usual. My issue is with the reservation system. When we arrived at the restaurant they had no record of my reservation. Luckily they had a table available anyway. But not a good experience to have my reservatio disappear. Hopefully this kind of glitch doesn't happen often!"

"I was more impressed by the service and view than I was by the food and ambience. I went for Dineout Vancouver though so perhaps it is not an accurate reflection of what the restaurant can offer normally. The food was good but nothing all that memorable for me. I like the selection of desserts although I found that they sounded better on the menu than they actually tasted. I also feel that the dining space itself could use an update."

"I have eaten here several times in past years (2005-2008) and always remember it was pretty good. This time, however, the food was just plain bad. We had several courses and each one was under seasoned and didn't taste fresh. It reminded me of what you might expect to receive at a mediocre hotel restaurant at a large wedding or catered event. The only nice part of the evening was our server who was excellent."

"Our server was really great because he was polite, friendly, knowledgable, and made sure everything was okay without being bothersome. Great service! The bread basket and tapenade with crackers were delicious, and more than we expected. Dinner was delicious and came in a timely manner. We all sampled each other's and everyone liked everything. Creme Brule was outstanding!
The only draw back to Provence Marinaside was that it was a little loud and lacked ambiance. It's a nice restaurant with large windows facing the water, but the inside was a little sterile.
There were 4 of us dining and we all agreed we'd go back. It was a nice experience and we felt welcome and important. Thank you. :)"

"We chose Provence as it is one of our favourites. Friends wanted to try something different for them during Dine Out Vancouver, so this was our suggestion. The food was excellent and all four of us enjoyed all three courses, so a 12 out of 12 in that department. My only negative for the evening was that we were very rushed and felt hurried by the pace of the food. I realise they want to turn tables over, but what is usually a 3 hour evening for us, was 2 hours to the minute! This really defeated the purpose of having the flights of wine that my husband and I both ordered. The next course arrived before we'd finished the glass of wine paired with the previous course. Please let us enjoy at our own pace!!! This was too "fast food" feeling."

"I gave only 3 stars for the food because I had salmon and it was overcooked and terrible. Everything else was delicious. The goat cheese salad was divine! Our server was excellent and all of her recommendations were the best. Wish I had listened. Didn't catch her name but caught the Scottish accent."
