"My hubby and I were in town for vacation. A friend recommended this for a great date night spot.
We thoroughly enjoyed the 4 course meal with the wine pairings. Our plates were almost licked clean. Each bite was better than the last. Service was impeccable. The servers thoroughly know their product and by the way they describe the dish components, it shows they have a love for food and the dishes they serve.
Can't wait to return."

"My husband and I have been trying to eat at this restaurant for 3 years while vacationing in seabrook. For many reasons we have not been able to make it. This year we came down to South Carolina a day early to stay in charleston and eat at mccradys. We could not be happier for this decision. We both had the 4 courses, and each got something different each time. All 8 courses were perfection. You cannot go wrong!"

"I cannot say enough good about McCrady's. Charleston has many wonderful restaurants, and McCrady's is the best of the best. The food is creative and delicious, wait staff outstanding and the atmosphere elegant. The tast;ing menu gives foodies an opportunity to sample something in every category from salads to fish to meat and then, dessert.

We were there during Spoleto when restaurants were fully booked, but we never felt rushed. A most memorable experience."

"McCradys is worth every star of its rating. Imaginative presentation, quality ingredients (much of it local) in a beautiful setting. Chef isn't afraid to take chances (although I was not wild about the fried beef tendons, it certainly was a first for me). "We planned our travels to be here for a return visit for our thirtieth anniversary and were not disappointed. Eight courses plus 'snacks' each so unusual, interesting and different from anything we have ever tasted as to be a revelation. (and we are passionate about food and eat everything, everywhere). There are many fabulous restaurants in Charleston, but if you can afford the best and want a splurge special dinner that is perfect in every way....go for the tasting menu with wine pairings and you will wonder how any other restaurant experience can compare. "Start to finish a wonderful dining experience. Every course was delicious and unique. The accompaniments around the main item of individual courses were just as interesting and tasty as the featured component. Staff was friendly and willing to answer all inquiries. The sprng vegetable salad was a delightful new spin on a first course and the pork belly was first rate. My husband and I both had he trout and loved it. The lamb and pork third courses were equally good. The chocolate chess pie and peach desserts finished off the meal perfectly. Portions are just the right size to leave you full and happy, but not feeling grossly over fed."

"Almost cancelled--thought dinner at 10? Fixed 4 course? Farm to table? We were so thrilled we stayed! Had wonderful cocktails at the bar, exceptionally good. Our waiter, Colin, was fabulous, attentive without being intrusive, and highly professional in his service. And the food was just to die for; like most on these sites, we think we really know good fodd! New Yorkers, foodies, make reservations any city we visit a month ahead, etc., setc. BUt perfect start to finish. I had the pork belly (can't resist), trout, and beef coulotte, fromage blanc. Loved it and the beauty of the room adds quite a bit as well. Don't miss. Worth every penny."

"McCrady's offers a beautiful atmosphere. We love this restaurant. Our experience on Thursday was only disappointing because the food came out very slowly. We don't expect fast food service in a restaurant like this, but there was at least 45 minutes between the first course and the second. We nearly starved in between courses. Don't think it was the server's fault, but neither did we receive an apology for the very long wait time. Very nice help with our wine -- we were very pleased with it!"

"Exquisitely conceived food, which remains true to sustainable sourcing.
The service is perfect - professional and warm - with the right amount of interaction.
And the food - simply delicious. The most outstanding dish we tasted was the pork belly with chervil scented faro - so much more than it reads. (And this from someone who dines out a lot and has pork and bacon fatigue.) Fish dishes and lamb were lovely too.

"We were originally seated at a 2 top right next to the wait staff computer station. It was incredibly loud, we had to listen to the waitstaff work banter and clang of flatware, and my husband was continually bumped into by passing waiters and even had water spilled on him. After about 15 mins of this we realized there were multiple other tables open, including 2 tops in our servers area, so we requested to move. The new table was a big improvement. My husband's lamb was rare instead of medium rare, and the French press coffee was scalded. Service was spotty, and we had to specifically request a cocktail menu. By the time the cocktail menu was delivered we were halfway through dessert so it was a bit too late,"

"Our first time at McCrady's and we were very impressed by the food and service.

The tasting menu is first rate. I've seen complaints that the portions are small but after quite a few of them, this is a non-issue. The flavors and textures are excellent and very inventive without sacrificing taste for flair.

The only comment that may seem negative is that the atmotphere was busy and noisy. While that doesn't seem to fit with a high-end experience and a tasting menu with inventive cuisine, the service and the food resulted in us forgetting about most of the activity around us, resulting in a enjoyable experience.

A special note goes to the staff for listening to our after dinner wine comments. They came through with flying colors;cudos!"

"McCradys came highly recommended by several business acquaintances of my husband and I. So much so that i made the reservations two months in advance. Naturally, we were expecting an excellent dining experience. That is not what we received. The welcome was lackluster, the service was spotty, the menu choices limited, and the prices very high. It was our most expensive meal during our time in Charleston, but our least favorite. Please note that if you still want to dine here and check it out for yourself, know that there is an a la carte menu even if they don't advertise it."

"From the moment we walked into this beautiful brick and glass restaurant, we knew we were in for a great evening. Our service staff was so courteous and professional . "We had been to McCrady's a few years ago and had great memories. This time we were surprised and disappointed. Apparently , a new chef has gone to a small serving, muti-course tasting menu which seems over the top for those who are not seeking that option.
The alternative is a la cart selections of various items which turn out to be absurdly priced tiny portions. Their choices are not competitive in a town with many outstanding restaurants."

"McCrady's was our first dining experience in Charleston and it was wonderful. The entrance is located in a charming alley just off Bay St. From the moment we entered we were treated with warm, friendly hospitality. The room is has a high ceiling with large brick arches and warm mellow lighting. It is elegant without being stuffy and most of the men were in nice shirts but no sportcoat. Our server was very good about describing the various dishes and proved to be excellent at pairing wines with our dinner. The food was excellent. I started with the pork belly appetizer and my wife had the baby scallops. Both were delicious. For entrees we had the duck breast and the chicken. Amazing. I highly recommend McCrady's."
