Tony's has served up some of the best old NY Italian favorites. Our cooking comes from Southern Neapolitan traditions and served up in huge family style platters that serve 2 to 3 people.
"We were 45 minutes late due to traffic and I called the restaurant to let them know. When we arrived we were not even sure we had time to eat before the theater. They had saved our table and alerted the waitstaff of our time restriction. They snapped to it and we were able to have our food and a drink and still get to the theater! The food was great and we will definitely be loyal Tony's fans forever!!!! They took what started out to be a stressful experience and made it a great evening so they get five thousand stars from us!"

"When making the reservation, I did not realize that it was a family style restaurants, so we each ordered individual dishes not knowing that the meals were large enough for 2 to 3 persons to share. The waiter realizing that it was our first time here worked with us and offered reduced portions of our order. The food, service, ambiance were outstanding, my family and I really enjoyed ourselves here. I found this restaurant to be just as good or better than the other family style Italian restaurant on 44th. Street."

"Feels like a traditional Italian Sunday dinner at moms! Family style eats and very large portions. Service was quick. Wait staff very helpful. Food and drink was outstanding. Broadway plays all in walking distance."

"I took my godmother here the Saturday before Mother's Day. She had never been before. She really enjoyed it. We were running late (reservations were for 12:30 but we got there closer to 12:50). In spite of that, we were done (excluding what was in our doggie bag -- huge portions) by 1:30, leaving us plenty of time to cross the street and make our 2pm show. It was a great Mother's Day weekend and "Tony D's" played a part."

"We we're four. Ordered an appetizer and 2 dishes... we left 80% of the food. Everything was delicious and not expensive, but 1 dish is good for at least four human beings. I wish the server told us."

"This was our 5th time at Tony Di Napoli;'s. There were 4 of us for dinner. We all had the house salad, veal parm with spaghetti. Salad was boring and very dry. Iceberg lettuce should be changed to roman lettuce and almost no dressing at all. Veal was chewy; Spaghetti was over cooked. My home made sauce is 100% better! Dessert was very good. We had peach sorbet and service was excellent tho, very quick when you needed the server... Wine list was notable. We would have sent the veal and spaghetti back but were pressed for time to see a Theatre show..."

"I used to go to the original Tony DiNapoli location on 2nd Avenue and loved it then. This was my first time going to the midtown location and I couldn't be more pleased. The entire staff was friendly & very accomodating. Our server was phenomenal. He was very attentive and made our experience very enjoyable. The food was delicious as could be expected. I would definitely return here when I am in the Times Square area. The prices are really reasonable too since each dish serves 2-3 people."

"I read several dozen glowing reviews of Tony's in Times Square, made a reservation for our first night in New York and counted the minutes until our sure to be fabulous dinner. More than a few reviews mentioned the noise level hovering around a full roar. They were correct. Also mentioned a few times was the possibility of being seated earlier than your reservation time. This, too was correct. Heard the service was hit or miss. Well, we missed. Not terrible, just not very good-felt like we were bothering him. Had the chicken parmigiana and 'homemade' fettuccine alfredo. Also not terrible, just pretty bland. Cheesecake, so-so and bread, meh. Overall, not terrible but we found better Italian a few blocks away. And cheaper."

"My husband was in a 10k race at Central Park over the weekend. He wanted pasta for dinner the night before. We were a little concerned about the food being served family style. That's too much for the 2 of us. There was no fridge/microwave in the hotel room. But the waiter helped with our order - Chicken Marsala and half portion of pasta instead of the full pound. The chicken was cooked to perfection. We prefer dark meat but the chicken breasts served were delicious and perfectly prepared. The pasta with tomato sauce was fresh - no can tomatoes there. We don't drink alcohol and we were too full for desserts. So a $50 dinner for two in NYC is a bargain. We would definitely come back and recommend Di Napoli's to friends and family."

"We had a wonderful meal. The marinara sauce was especially good. The service was great, and it is very reasonably priced. Because the portions are so large, the best thing to do Is just to order one (rather than two) of everything for two people."

"Great place to eat. I have had dinner with just my husband for date night and we have also brought the kids for family day. The menu is family style. Pleasant atmosphere, great food, excellent service, and pocket friendly prices. How can you beat that? Best part about Tony's , is you get all that all time, they are consistent any night you go. I give Tony's 5 stars!!!"

"Been 2 both locations many times, but find this one extremely noisy. Unable to carry a conversation so I do not suggest dining here with people you haven't seen in a while & might be trying to catch up. And tables are way to close to each other. I do enjoy all the food there & staff has always been excellent. Locations are perfect for areas I visit."

"I took my friend here to celebrate his birthday while we were visiting NY. I made a reservation here because the customer reviews were so positive. People were raving about this place saying that it is sooo good, a "must eat" comparing it to Carmines. In all fairness, I am basing this review off of one entree, maybe we just ordered the wrong thing, idk. My friend and I ordered the Baked Ziti Bolognese for our entree to share. It's enough to feed about 3 people with healthy appetites. It tasted like something from a high school cafeteria. I was disappointed. I was expecting so much more! While the atmosphere and vibe of the restaurant were nice, unfortunately the food didn't match the ambience or the hype."

"What can I say about Tony's di Napoli ....... Amazing, we was recommended by a friend who had been several times previously and could not recommend Tony's enough. But me and my wife to be left it till our last day in New York City to visit and if only...... If only we visited sooner, the food, the atmosphere and the friendly professional service was like no other we had been to, for a good low price too. Thanks for the memory's NYC"

"This is a great place to go to with a group of friends or family since everything is served family style, so the portions are very large. There is a large variety to pick from and the food is delicious. It was only my husband and myself that night, so they bagged it up and we had it for dinner the next night. Still delicious."

"We went to Tony's after a Sunday matinee, and were seated immediately with our reservation. We had a good meal, sharing two entrees between the three of us, with plenty of leftovers. We had spaghetti and meatballs, which had a very good flavor, and chicken picatta. The chicken wasn't the best - the sauce was very watery and they were no capers - but it was ok. The place was very noisy and it was difficult to hold a conversation."
