"Sunday night - this place was full by 8pm! Note - there are a few rooms you can dine in - we chose the front area. Great comfy corner with a banquette and chairs. Lots of choices - tables for two at the window - as well as tables for groups of ten! The waiter was always there when we needed him - and never intrusive. Our food arrived promptly - the fish received the most accolades of everything we had. The portions are more than generous. No doubt - if you want a value priced dinner in a fun room with an eclectic dining scene - this place must be on the short list in the Back Bay / South End."

"The meal was awesome!! I had seafood risotto. The risotto was cooked to perfection and filled with shrimp, scallops & lobster surrounded by mussels. I've never had mussels that melted in my mouth!! Presentation was beautiful. My girlfriend had beef tenderloin that was cooked a perfect medium well. The wine & cocktail list was extensive & very good."

"For the 7th week in a row our table selection (N2) was not honored. And I noticed, checking on my Open Table points that one of the nights we were there, it was not checked off. I never miss a reservation!"

"My tilapia dinner was disappointing. The white rice was plain and boring, the vegetable portion was skimpy and the fish was overcooked. My friends enjoyed their meals (vegetable risotto and the lobster mac and cheese)."

"This was my second visit in a few months. I was a bit less impressed with the food this time, though I have to admit I was very surprised the last time by how good it was. The drinks were fantastic. The nachos were excellent. Where they fell down was with the main course. I had the lobster roll, not only was it a paltry portion for $24 but also the lobster was very chewy; it was like you were chewing something fibrous."

"Great place to go if your are attending an event at the Calderwood Theater. Wait staff are marvelous. Best to be in the room that is separate and closed off from the larger area that includes additional restaurant seating and bar. It's quite loud and a bit dingy in these other areas."

"I'm so glad it's still around. I "grew up" in this restaurant, and it's still a great place to go. It's stayed relavant throughout the years. Well done!"

"We had a 2:30 reservation and had been told the buffet was from 11-3 so we improperly assumed that they wouldn't break-down at 3, but stop seating at 3. Wrong, they did last call at 3 and promptly started to break it down. There was our party of 5 and another party in our room of 6 still sitting. While the food was good, it was cold. Our own fault that we didn't have it reheated in the kitchen, but we were rushing to sample everything at the buffet. The food was good, nice selection, but not really a kid-friendly environment with posters of upcoming "drag queen" venues hanging around the building."

"Two large TVs on in dining area. The sound off, but still intrusive. Waitress brought curdled cream for coffee. After we were told to sit anywhere we want, I asked about the brunch buffet she said it was available, but didn't offer un any information. Like where it was or how it worked. I didn't realize that until she left and then I had to find her to get info. It was a very slow morning with few customers there, but the waitress never came by to see how we were doing or offered refill my coffee."

"I've been going to Club Cafe for at least a dozen years. The bar and drinks have always been phenomenal, but the dining was not great for a time. As of February 2013 the food was back to it's delectable best! Thank you for another wonderful meal and fun night out."

"First time I dined there. My husband and I went there for Valentine's Dinner. Food was well prepared as were the drinks. The service was excellent and friendly. The only disappointing part was that we stood at the door for a while before somebody noticed us. Where was the host/hostess?"
