"I love this place and have been here on several occasions. We had a mid-morning Father's Day Brunch reservation and found the restaurant not full at all, when we arrived. We were seated in a lovely room towards the outdoor seating, and it took nearly 12 minutes before anyone approached us to ask what we'd like to drink. We actually flagged a nearby Bus boy down and asked him to let our waiter know we'd like to order some drinks. Upon arrival, someone should approach your table and welcome you within in the first 2-5 minutes for a better customer service experience.
We ordered, received our drinks, nearly 10 more minutes, and ordered food quick! Food was great, experience good overall, except trying to order drinks & flag down help!"

"Father's Day breakfast and I took my husband out for a 10:30am meal, first we were sat in the furthest away corner in the restaurant, I ask for a table outside, we were sat in the furthest table away from everyone. After a 20 minute wait I got up and asked the kitchen if we could have some water & bread, once they noticed I was not happy with the fact that we were not 'noticed' out in the backwoods, our waitress came to our aid and apologized."

"My family and I have been to La Provence several times over the past 16 years since living in Roseville and we have yet to have been disappointed with this establishment. Most of our visits is for the Sunday brunch and we always look forward to be seated outside when the weather permits."

"Service was slow. Was told by the waitress that they only have one type of wine "glass". Yes they were glass, the type you would find at Dollar Tree, not crystal. If you charge a corkage fee, you should have the proper stem war.

"Second visit to La Provence. Waitress was inattentive/unprepared. Manager stopped by spontaneously and personally served a drink that had been ordered long since but not brought and apologized. "My wife, good friend of ours and I have been coming here for sometime, but I was a little disappointed this time. "A great place for a group with differing palates. A very good selection of beef, chicken, pork and seafood, Our group was celebrating a high school graduation with close family ages 15 - 80 years old. We ordered beef, pork and seafood dishes from the Prix Fixe menu. The portions were generous and delivered together. Four of us ordered the Petite Chateaubriand and it was fantastic.
The service was very good and we stayed for a long time visiting and enjoying the evening without feeling the need to vacate our table after we completed our meal. A very special and memorable evening for a very special graduate!"

"We have been dining at La Provence for a few years now, perhaps seven or eight times a year. We have been there for lunch, brunch, supper, and wine dinners. Because the atmosphere, staff, and food are so enjoyable, we bypass other options to dine at La Provence. On this last visit, I had a wonderful Beef Wellington, and my wife a Rack of Lamb. Both were carefully prepared and presented as well as delicious. The escargot is always a delight, and the spicy spinach fondue is a creative twist on a cheese dish."

"The dining room was romantic, cozy, and very European. The hostess was friendly and seated us immediately. The wait person was professional, friendly and very helpful. The menu appeared authentic and most of the food was delicious with appropriate portion sizes. We enjoyed the salads, entrees and while I very much liked my creme brule, my wife's profiteroles were disappointing. Overall, a great experience and we will certainly return."

"Went here to try their Brunch for the first time, and it was just OK! I usually go here for Dinner, and always have a Great Meal!
The Brunch was not properly restocked and our main entree from the kitchen was Not Hot at all. Brunches need to be overseen by attentive staff. The area where the Brunch was layout (the Bar area), was not easy to come and go out of. A different room would have made it easier on the guest to come & go out of the service area.
I recommend going their for Dinner, and skip the Brunch!"

"Went for lunch on our Anniversary. Our waitress provided unacceptable service. Tried to rush us to order a drink and when we asked for a few minutes with the menu, she disappeared for a very long time. The restaurant was not crowded. By the time our food arrived, we were famished. The meal was good, but the whole experience was marred by the poor service. Had to ask for water three times - finally the manager had to bring it. Our waitress never apologized for the slow service. Very disappointing."

"We went for Mother's Day dinner, two nights early to beat the crowd. We were seated promptly and our waiter was perfectly attentive to our needs. My wife's Ahi tuna was superb. I had a filet that was tasty but a bit too chewy. Our Frank Family Merlot was a perfect accompaniment to the meals. We are always pleased to come here and when we have brought visitors from out of town, they are quite complimentary, too."

"J'ai presque toutes mes célébrations a la Provence, fête des mère, anniversaires, anniversaires de mariage, quelques déjeunés pendant la semaine. La Provence est le meilleur restaurant Français, sinon le meilleur restaurant dans la region quand on veut sortir des sentiers battus."

"The dinner was excellent, but service needs a little tweaking. We were a party of 5 with 1 child. The bus boy serv ed us right promptly, but he didn't serve us any bread. What is it about bread being served before the main course. This has happened to us before. So , anyhow, I got a waitresses' attention and asked her if she could remind the bus boy that we would like some bread and butter. That being handled, the next thing that happened was our child got his pizza delivered while we were still enjoying our pre-dinner cocktails. So he had to sit and watch us as we had our dinner. Overall the experience was not that unpleasant, but a little thought on their part would have made for a very enjoyable evening."

"Read quite a bit about this eatery. Used to work in 4 star restaurant prior to retirement. Ours was a Continental Menu including a few French items. Disappointed your on-line sight didn't mention the $30 each for two wasn't available on May 11th. Understandable for May 12th (Mother's Day), but not the night before. Overheard the couple behind us request the same special. I suspect we were not the only couples disappointed with this oversight. Food was also not worthy, in our opinion, for a second visit. Nice neighborhood and view though."

"My wife and I visited the restaurant on a Sunday afternoon and were quite pleased with the place in many ways.
Even thought there was a wedding party going on, the service was impeccable, from the staff greeting us at the door, to the multiple servers who brought us water and took our drink and food order.
The prices were reasonable for this quality of establishment and the ambience was first rate.
Very very good French onion soup. a small pot was more than enough to begin the meal.
My fish was done to perfection. We even took a dessert home with us.
Even thought there was a wedding party going on, the service was impeccable, from the staff greeting us at the door, to the multiple servers who brought us water and took our drink and food order.

"Food, service, wait time, portion size, cost per entrée all average. Bar appeared to be a local happy hour hot spot for 40 somethings. Guests took the time to dress up a little, making ambience a bit more in tune with empty nesters and those approaching retirement. Nothing was bad or negative, but not truly ratable as upscale or noteworthy, just different blend of culture away from Outback or Cheesecake factory."

"I selected 'no' for recommend because maybe isn't an option but I think if the service were better, it would have been fine. while we were there, one other table got up and walked out and a mother cancelled dessert and left. It was not a good night for them."

"Love this place! One of the best restaurants in the entire Sacramento region. Fine French food without pretense, and with a very comfortable dining environment. The room is beautiful, and the outdoor seating is incredible. The menu is consistently good without being overly rich or seasoned. Brunch is wonderful."
