Upscale thirty-something’s & the college crowd mingle at this popular neighborhood restaurant & gathering place east of Wash Park.
A covered strip on the south side of the building makes for convivial outdoor seating (you just might see a neighbor), and Sunday brunch offers an all you can eat Buffet (juice, soda, coffee and tea are included). A beautiful lounge is off to the side. 11 beers are on tap, 15 in bottles and an excellent wine list at the elegant U-shaped bar.
Dinners are mid-priced, with a nice selection of grilled seafood & steaks & several fancy pasta dishes. The lunch offering is paninis, grilled sandwiches, salads & pasta.

"Food was good, but really the service was nothing other than okay. Server filled up 2 out of 3 water glasses and walked away. Coffee was totally empty and had to wait a while for him to come back and refill coffee. Took a while to get the check, too. He seemed distracted."

"I planned this dinner a couple of months in advance for my mother's Mother's Day dinner. The service was lousy. Management was no where to be found as he was too busy serving water. The place wasn't packed. It had a good, steady stream of patron. It appeared all the wait staff was present and everyone was getting the service they needed, but my mother and I were treated poorly.
Our server was awful. She was appeared uninformed about the menu. She was inattentive with our table, but had no issues assisting her other tables. I tried to get hold of management, but he was too busy. My mother's food was not made right the first time. The second order took well over 15 minutes to arrive. Overall poor service and fair food."

"We had a party of 7 that was seated on time at 7:00. At 7:15 our waiter stopped by and said he would be back in a few minutes. At 7:30 we still had not even had our drink orders taken. I complained and shortly thereafter our drink order was taken. Food: the calamari appetizer was soggy and greasy, My husband's lasagna was overcooked, my lobster alfredo was OK but not in anyway outstanding. Everyone in our grouo was disappointed and said they wopuld not go back for dinner.
I have had some lovely lunches there in the past, so I think I would stick with salads and burgers if I go back."

"WE HAD A FAIRLY LARGE GROUP AND THEY SERVED US PROMPTLY WITH GREAT FOOD. THE WINE LIST WAS VERY GOOD, THE DECOR HANDSOME, AND ALL OF THE FOOD ITEMS WERE SUPERB AND WELL PRESENTED. THE ONLY NEGATIVE WAS THAT WE HAD A VEGAN IN THE GROUP AND HER OPTIONS WERE LIMITED, AND A COUPLE OF THE DAILY SPECIALS HAD QUITE SMALL PORTIONS. WE RECOMMEND HIGHLY."

"Normally, I love Wash Park Grille. I am always impressed by the food and the service. This time was very different. We rarely saw our waitress, and the food was disappointing. The ravioli of the day was drowned in soy sauce to the point that I could not taste anything else. We'll be back though and hope to have food back up to the usual standards."

"Overpriced lamb chops. For $35 I was expecting mroe than 2 small doubleboned chops. I mentioned this to the waiter. He said he agreed and spoke to the manager. Offered us some money off the bill or free dessert. Appeased, we took dessert to go. We ordered Tiramisu. Only, the portion was so small it was an insult. obviously, not their normal dessert portion. Should have accepted the discount off the bill. Or they should have just offered me one more chop."

"My wife and I chose Washington Park Grill to spend our 25th Anniversary dinner. We had dinner there once before (my wife had a Groupon) and this is where my wife wanted to go to celebrate our special day. We took our 19 year old daughter and she loved it. The food was wonderful as was the service. We really like the atmosphere.
For dinner, expect about $20/person. If you have wine or dessert it will be more.
The portions we had were very large. My wife and daughter took home half of their dinners for lunch the next day."

"Food was decent, but the prices are insane for what you get. Frankly Washington Park Grille is not what it once was - a pillar of modern Italian food, rather it is now an over priced American/Italian restaurant. My pork chop was dry and accompanied by unimaginative sides of arugula with goat cheese (which sounds better than it tastes) and beet studded mashed potatoes. My wife's ahi steak was improperly seared save only by the wasabi pea crust that hasn't changed in at least 7 years. The wine list is decent. I think Wash Park Grille really needs to get inspired again."

"I have been to Wash Park Grille on numerous occassions, but never for dinner. I was excited to try their dinner menu, but my entree was horrible ( I had the buttnernut squash ravioli) and the service left a lot to be desired (she was very inattentive and took a very long time to get our drinks and take our order). But not for foodies. I prefer max gill and grill for happy hour and for oysters. Also, I've never received a free or 2for1 dinner coupon, which I would use if I had one. I've received free meal on my bday and anniversary, as have my friends from max, so we have bday parties at max. Seems short sighted given that we usually bring 6-8 business friends who then go back to max. Since same owners, seems like wash park grill is losing out on business, at least my bday party bi"

"Don't be early and try and get a drink at the bar, because that is not going to happen. They may as well be hidden and just make it a service bar. The food was awesome the server was good till she tried to put the check down twice and we ended up getting another drink. Felt like she was just ready to get rid of us. "We dined at Washington Park Grille as a part of the 5280 Restaurant special menu. The food was great, the desserts even better, and the waite staff attentive. The cocktails created at the bar on the other hand were undrinkable! We sent two different cocktails back and didn't bother ordering replacements because the bartenders looked so unsure of their ability to mix a drink. On the upside, they did replace our drinks with nice glasses of wine instead."

"Loved the location of the restaurant. The food was also excellent! Full of flavor and worth the price I paid. The service wasn't so great. We were seated at one table with what seemed to be an energetic, friendly waitress. Ordered our drinks, went over the menu with us and everything. Then we were moved because of poor planning with a large group following us in. We switched tables and were never acknowledged for us being flexible for them. Almost as if they expected us to move regardless. Our new waitress wasn't the best. Rarely checked on us, no energy or enthusiasm. Kinda killed the whole experience. Might think twice about going back."

"This was a cute little place in the middle of a neighborhood. Very nice on the inside and cute on the outside. You could totally walk right past it. The food was very good, a nice variety for brunch on Sunday and the bottomless mimosas - yum!
We had a very poor service - I think our waiter was in the clouds most of the time, but other wise a great place the rest of the servers were on top of their tables.
We will go back again"

"Much confusion at the start when the hostess told our friends after we were already seated that there was no reservation for our group of 6. This caused the confused couple to try to figure something else out for dinner. Just an unnecessary start to the evening. Then, although the food was good, the service was slow. I'm sure a part of it was the 5280 crowd but it was definitely slow. Nice server however and she had good recommendations. Overall, enjoyed seeing friends over a good meal."

"The food here is fantastic and it was a great spot for a double date with friends. Service was good, although they criss-crossed some orders and we ended up having to send food back. Our waitress was very kind and intelligible, and oddly steered me away from a dish that, in her experience, no one liked. We came in for 5280, but after hearing the daily specials we veered toward the main menu.
I would definitely come back here again. It was causual, yet tasty fare, with a lot of creative menu items."

"We had a nice table in an alcove which made it easy to converse. We were seated at our reservation time. Dinner took awhile to get to us,but it was a very busy Saturday night (prime time). Waiter made sure to check on us and alert us to the delay. It was not a big problem since we were out socially with friends. My food was good,though nothing special (salmon). Generally an enjoyable experience and would patronize again."

"Food was very good. The potatoes infused with beets was very good and different. The only thing I would have changed was it was a little to dark and was hard to see the great food. We had to use a light on our phone to know what color the potatoes were with the beets in them. Other than that good food. I would go again."
