Since 1963, Victor’s Cafe, a family-run New York City landmark, continues to be a culinary voyage to Cuba offering an incomparable experience with its harmony of authentic cuisine, hospitality and stylish environment. "Service was the worst I've experienced except for the food servers who worked their tushes off. The food was very salty and bland. Best thing about the place was we were seated at our reservation time and the crispy plantain chips brought to the table. Can't recommend and won't go back."

"I made reservations for Mother's Day. We made reservations for 8:15. We arrived about 7:45. When Ed arrived, ad waited about 5 minutes and our table was ready. As soon as we were seated, we were immediately served water and delicious fried banana slices. The menu had both a special and the regular menu.
The food was amazing. The restaurant provided a decent amount of times between appetizers and entree, as well as desert. The drinks were delicious high recommend the sangria and the classic mojitos.
I cannot wait to return. Any of the dishes are spectacular. Delicious!"

"I had a wonderful experience at Victor's Cafe!! My twin sister and I were celebrating our 21st birthday here and I could NOT have picked a better place to hold my dinner! The food was AMAZING (the black beans and the appetizers were delectable) I had the Lechón asado (roast pig) and it was so tender and juicy that I only wish they had
given me a bigger portion. The ambiance of the restaurant was very vibrant and lively, however

"This restaurant was amazing! My boyfriend and I went after a Broadway show. Even though we arrived 45 minutes early, we were seated immediately. Staff was quick and attentive to our needs. The food was to die for! I lived in Miami for 4.5 years, so I appreciate good Cuban food--this place had it! It was much busier by the time we left, however, we had a fantastic time!"

"Overpriced and average cuban food. Ordered a $29 House specialty appetizer for 2 which looked like a plate full of fried breaded frozen snacks. Specialty appetizer for 2 had 1 shrimp. The $39 filet mignon - ordered medium with a pink center-- was well done and had the texture of shoe leather. Ordered sweet plantains for 4 with our dinner. They brought one little side plate, then another, never an amount for our party of 4. We were seated near an ac blower which made our table freezing, we wore our jackets throughout dinner. We never got comfortable it was so cold, they said they would lower it but never did. I ordered the house specialty, roast suckling pig. Terrible, dry and honestly I was embarrased for them."

"As usual, Victor's didn't disappoint. The sangria was great. Tried the Taste of Cuba selection because I just couldn't decide what to get. Appetizers were excellent. A great sampling of the entrée favorites including Ropa Vieja, Camarones Enchilados, and delicious roast suckling pig. Mmmmm!! Dessert included creamy rice pudding, delicious flan and a piece of tasty crumb cake. Finished the meal off with a nice espresso cubano. If you're in the neighborhood, you have to stop at Victors."

"My husband and I were going to a show and needed a good place to eat before hand. Usually we don't like the times square/ theater district because it's mostly tourist traps. But this has pleasantly surprised us. The food was good, the drinks were good the service was quick, polite and efficient the whole experience was wonderful. Would definitely go back.
My husband had the Paella, which contained a lot of seafood and it was delicious. I had jumbo shrimp in a tomatelo sauce of some sort, it was very well season, very nice flavors, again as i said, can't complain.

"Food was tasty and well prepared. Service started out great at 5:15 but was really slow at the end of our dinner when we had to get to the theater around the corner by 7:00. Took over 10 minutes alone just to find our waiter to get our check, waiter no where in sight. Ambiance was fine but nothing outstanding; was what I would have expected for the price and location of the restaurant. Would probably choose another restaurant in future if in that neighborhood."

"Our reservation was at 5:45!! Drinks came 15 minutes later and finally we ordered dinne. The staff was apologetic for ignoring us, which we appreciated. Dinner was good for one of our diners but another's came out cold. We decided not to send back because we had a show to get to.
I would never go back here and I would never recommend this to anyone. The food was just ok... Not exceptional by any means. The wait staff was very lack luster and did not seem to care all all that our dining experience was not good at all!
I researched all of the restaurants before choosing this one and I have to say I did not find any bad reviews. I think they fill up the reviews with their own raving reviews to bury the bad. don't waste your time!!"

"They seated us right away for a 4:30 reservation. Offered us drinks and took our order all in a timely matter. ( no rush). We were waiting on one more person, but we ordered anyway. Was surprise when our friend arrive we had just gotten our food. She ordered and the food came very quickly. We all were able to enjoy our meals together. "Victor"s Cafe was just wonderful. The ambiance was great, the Sangria and Mojitos were excellent The food marinated flank steak was prepared just right and the rice with black beans was perfect. The service was fast efficient but did not rush us out. I would strongly recommend Victor's Cafe to anyone for any occasion or no occasion."

"Just love Victors, have been going there for quite a few years. I have never been disappointed in the food or service.
I have been there for lunches, dinners and many times stopped at the bar after a show and got drinks and Cubin sandwitches. All my friends that I have taken with me also enjoyed it.
Love the music they play, and the decor, you think you are in Cuba.
When in NYC it is my place to go."
