"I'm sure there are many other wonderful North End Italian restaurants but any would be hard pressed to out do Panza. We were seated immediately upon entering at our reservation time. Our waitress was very helpful and attentive. The appetizers were outstanding as were the meals. Definitely will return here when in Boston."

"Great prices for the quantity and definitely decent quality. We also liked the open air concept. But slightly cramped, especially if you have babies or toddlers.
For some reason, my group was seated after other groups with the same reservation timing but that arrived after us, without any explanation (not sure if it was due to that our reservation was made through opentable rather than directly?), but other than that, service was great."

"Great double date night our with our best friends! We had a 5:30 pm reservation - and good thing! Panza is a small intimate restaurant that makes you feel like you've stepped into someplace special. Everything was made to order, and they did it with a smile! When we were leaving around 6:45 there was a waiting line to get in."

"We made a reservation online at 8 pm for 8:30 pm. When we showed up, the manager gave us attitude about not having a reservation. When he checked and realized we did, he didn't apologize, just said he normally checks the system at 5:30 pm, as if we should have known that. Then, when our group of 6 went to pay, he told us he would only split up to 2 credit cards. Then he said he'd do us a favor and do all 6. I've been there before and this has not been an explicit policy. Overall, the good food didn't make up for the poor service. The North End is filled with great Italian restaurants. I won't be returning to this one."

"Had a 7:00 reservation, but was seated at 7:50 after standing in cold outside of restaurant. It took another 20 min prior to getting Menu. Crowded and over booked, people were constantly standing in door way with the door open to enquirer of their reservation. Overall food was good but I do not know if worth the wait or ambiance."

"The food here is decent, but not great, traditional food. For the price, I thought it was pretty good and I would go here again, but only if I was going with someone who didn't want to spend the extra you have to spend to get a really great meal in the North End. Their policy is to not seat people unless the whole party is there. My friend was, however, stuck on the T due to disabled trains. So, my punishment for my friend being stuck was to not be able to order a glass of wine while I waited? And potentially not be seated at all? Very very unfriendly policy. I know it's not unusual, but it never fails to infuriate me to be treated badly because someone I am with is stuck. Really the best thing is that the restaurant is cheap."

"This was my first time dining at Panza and I loved it. My fiance and I went for dinner before heading over to the bruins game. We were dressed in Bruins t shirts so we were looking for a restaurant in the North End that was more casual. The restaurant was small but did not feel cramped at all! We ordered our food and it came out pretty quickly. We were both very happy with our meals and even more happy when we got the bill. As far as north end restaurants go it was definitely more affordable than others! We were both pleasantly surprised at our experience at Panza and would definitely recommend it!"

"Glad we had a reservation on a bustling Friday, even at 6:00. This place is small and the tables are close together, but the staff work together really well to keep things moving. The bitter greens and polenta to start were a good combination, followed by pasta that was properly cooked, in very ample portions. The wine was a good value at $6 for a brimming glass. No dessert or coffee here, so head down the street to a cafe or to Mike's Pastry to satisfy the sweet tooth."

"Three of us went to Panza last Sunday night and really enjoyed our time. We had to wait about 10 minutes for our table which did not bother us. The restaurant is small and there were many line ups outside of restaurants. We were attended by the wait staff immediately. We ordered the calamari, grilled greens over polenta, (fried tomato) caprese salad, seafood linguine, beef and veal tortelloni. All were excellent - the tortelloni were exceptional. Would definitely return for another great meal!"

"After a rather cold reception when we arrived, they redeemed themselves with a more personable waiter and fabulous food. We arrived a few minutes early but stood alone and unacknowledged inside the door while two waiters not only ignored us but seemed to avoid us. After 5 minutes, I pulled aside a bus boy who said we were standing in the right area, and someone would likely be with us shortly. Another 5 minutes passed, I walked to the back to seek out a waiter to let them know we had a reservation. Same answer... someone will be with you. I don't mind the wait, but not having someone at least acknowledge us and let us know it would be 10-15 minutes was just rude."

"We made a reservation by Open Table for a 5:30 table, to eat before a Bruins game. We were a half hour late due to traffic but were still still seated right away. The service was prompt and courteous , and the food was outstanding. The portions were generous and the prices were very reasonable.
Overall it was an excellent experience. This is not a place for a long, extended dinner, but the food is as good as anywhere in the North End.
Highly recommended and we will certainly return."

"I didn't enjoy my last visit as much as previous ones. The food seems to have gotten less interesting and when we arrived we had to wait by the door with no one greeting us for a while which was confusing. Overall the food is still good and our server was nice in the end; it just didn't feel as special as I remembered from years past."

"This place is great, but they're not very good with reservations. We had a 9:00 reservation and were told that the table wouldn't be ready until 9:20/9:25. We grabbed a drink at the bar across the street, came back and the table still wasn't ready. We weren't seated until 9:50. A little ridiculous, but that's how it goes sometimes.
The food, however, is great and the prices are reasonable."

"Food was really, really good. Mussels were great, linguini pescatore was amazing! I would come back just for those two items! The space it’s self is nothing special, it’s definitely not the fanciest restaurant on Hanover by any means, but is cozy and quaint. Service was good and prompt, and food came out pretty quickly. It’s definitely one of the more affordable places in the North End. Overall I would come back, it’s a great place for a casual dinner out for non-fussy/not high maintenance people."

"Great place to dine! Group of four and all four dishes were great!! I had Lobster Ravioli and it was sooo good! Also tried Chicken a la Panza and was delicious! I had read some other reviews to decide where to dine and this place is a success. Really recommend it."

Small place but good prices and not too noisy despite the close quarters. Only thing that marred the evening was the fact that we weren't seated until 25 minutes after our reservation time."

"After making a 7:30 reservation on a Saturday night on 2 different occasions I was very disappointed to be waiting in line outside in the sold and rain for almost 1 hour. We were seated at 8:20. I feel that the restaurant should not accept a reservation if they cannot accommodate it within 30 minutes at the maximum. Panza has no area where patrons can wait so although the food is very good - the evening does not start out that way."

"Really liked the place. It's one of the few restaurants in the North End that take plastic & honor reservations. It's a very small cozy space. Waiter service was good, but was a bit slow at times. The food was excellent and the wine list was well priced. I would definitely go back, but perhaps on a slower night when it isn't so crowded and loud."

"The food was delicious and the bottle of Malbec we ordered very complimentary to the meal we decided to get. The waitress was very dull and not helpful in any sense, but it did not ruin our experience. We had a reservation on a Tuesday night, it is recommended and just to make sure you do get a spot I would make one."
