Las Vegas visitors and residents alike know that Michael's gourmet room is one of the finest restaurants in all of Las Vegas. For over 20 years, this intimate, 50-seat gourmet room has earned accolades galore. Its many prestigious honors awarded by the country's premier restaurant reviewers and dining surveys attest to its excellence not only in menu but also in service and style.
Michael's awards have included being named one of the Top 5 Restaurants in Las Vegas by the Zagat Survey. It received the Four-Diamond Award for Exceptional Cuisine, Excellent Service, and Elegant Dining Atmosphere from the American Automobile Association, the Award of Excellence from Distinguished Restaurants of North America, and the Finest Gourmet Restaurant recognition from the Las Vegas Review-Journal Readers' Poll.
Dining at Michael's is an experience of a lifetime. One of our guests told us that his dinner at Michael's was better than the meal he had eaten the week before at the White House!
"Of all the places we have eaten in the world from Spain to Portugal to the best spots in Vegas, this was one of our favorites if not the best. From the moment you walk in the service is perfect. Every member of the staff was on cue. The table side service was great and the food was excellent. This is not the place if your wallet is light-but when your funds are correct-set a reservation right away. Will recommend to all that ask and those that don't as well."

"Have eaten here several times over the years. This time was dissapointed. Have the sole, which in the past was maybe the best meal I had ever eaten. Maybe just a off night. Will try it again, but hope it's not going downhill"

"Our first time at Michael's. The experience was incredible. Service was great food was great. And plenty! Make sure you go there hungry otherwise you"ll be disappointed you couldn't try everything. Pricey but worth it for what you get: service, great food, and an awesome experience."

"Fine dining at its best. Excellent food, quality service and ambience rolled into one great experience. We had veal piccata, lamb, and dover sole. All were well prepared. The wait staff were considerate and knowledgeable. Service was excellent. They did everything to make our physically challenged friend comfortable. As senior citizens we appreciated their attention to our needs and advice. We have dined at Michaels previously and will continue to do so. Come hungry as the portions are quite generous."

"Definitely one of the best meals I've ever had. My wife and I split the stone crab appetizer ($60) and we had the filet mignon ($78) and lobster ($105) for our entrees. Creamed spinach and au gratin potatos as sides were great also. Everything was absolutely delicious and the service is exceptional. Stone crab app, dinner, 4 glasses of wine, one dessert, 2 coffees, and tip ran me just under $500. It's pricey, but as I said the atmosphere and service are top notch and the meal is definitely one of the best I've ever had. Highly reccommended for special occasions or an exceptional meal while in Las Vegas."

"Very nice restaurant. We did not discover the reataurant until our last few days in Vegas. This is an "old school" romantic restaurant. You are given more food than you can possibly consume but it is all great. They offer a wine list when seated but you need to ask for the complete list. Service is impecable. When we return to Vegas this will be at the top of the list. Because it is located at South Point Casino, you need a car or enough money for a taxi. Worth the extra effort to get there."

"We were there on a Monday night, and were only 1 of three parties. The food was absoltuely great. Staff was great too, but they clearly had a lot of time. I wish the lighting were a bit more subdued. Candles or directed lighting at the tables, and less general lighting overall would make the ambience more intimate. Plush chairs and booths, so I suspect it is quiet even when it is full."

"We have been coming to Michaels for years. Jose greets you at the door with a smile and kind word then expertly hands you off to one of the Captains who do their job with skilled precision. There is no better food in Las Vegas...period!! Special occasion as the prices aren't for the faint of heart BUT so very worth it!!"

"This place is a classic. The serve is amazing. Each meal is a show with a staff preps a lot of dishes, if not all, tableside. Shared the lamb for two with my mom and it was the best lamb I have ever eaten. Simple but tasted how all lamb should. The dining room is open but private because of the huge chairs that make each table seen private. Pricey but a one of a kind experience."

"Michael's is probably one of the nicest restraunts that I've been to in a very long time. The wait staff were very accomodating and allowed a leisurely dining experience. The meal was excellent, plenty of food including complementary relish tray and a fruit bowl after dinner. I can highly recommend Michael's and we will definitely return."

"I wanted some place special for my friends 90th birthday - and michaels was the perfect choice. It is old world charm. The food was delicious - I highly recommend the petite filet and be sure to get a side of au gratin potatoes. The wait staff was amazing - th right mix of attention, information and anticipating your requests. Many items are prepared at the table - such as the Caesars salad. A treat. All food is plated at the table. My only Comment is they could make it a little bit more of a production.
Michaels is a little out of the way. Round trip cab fare from the strip will easily cost you $50 - and lets just say Michaels is an oasis of sophistication in the south point casino."

"A justifiably very expensive restraunt. MY filet was dry and bland. HER veal was delicious. Although a very popular label, our wine of choice was not available. I was astonished that a classyplace like this would make such a fundamental error."

"Michael's is probably the finest restaurant in Las Vegas if you're looking for great food, excellent waitstaff, and that "old Las Vegas" ambiance. You're treated like a king and queen by everyone from the Maitre 'd to the busboys. You'll often find the owner of South Point, Michael Gaughn sitting at the bar. It's a wonderful place for any celebration."

"Michael's seems to strive to be the most over priced restaurant in Las Vegas, and from our experience, has succeeded.
We shared the stone crab appetizer, featuring nice pieces of crab presented on a mound of shaved ice - $60
The we shared a decent Caesar salad - $25
We had eaten at Del Frisco's the night before, so opted for a seafood entree. There were several to choose from but we chose the dover sole, prepared tableside - $88, plus a $25 split charge. It was good, but I had a better orange roughy at the Oyster Bar earlier in the week for $18.95.
The wine list is small, with 2-3 wine lables pasted on each page. It does cover the basic styles well.
Service was excellent."

"Michael's is THE place for incredible service, incredible food and a very quiet "quaint" atmosphere. The service is above outstanding, with the servers and hosts constantly paying attention to every detail of your dining experience. But, you do pay for this quality. AND it is worth every penny!! All the food is first class and done to perfection. Dining at Michaels is an experience not to be missed."

"Michael's offers old-style dining and phenomenal service. I was not, however, blown away by the food; and the prices are VERY high. ($365 + tip for dinner for two.)
By "old style dining," I mean: The ladies' menus do not have prices. It's a little crazy today; after all, my husband's annual salary and mine are very close. (He makes almost as much as I do!) Guests are served palate cleanser between courses -- Dom Perignon poured over sherbet.
My Shrimp de Diavolo was not spicy; the Tornadoes of Beef were flavorless. My husband's Cream of Tomato Soup was great, and his bone-in steak was very flavorful.
If you're OK w/the prices, you might well like Michael's."

"This was my 3rd experience at Michael's. I can tell you from living 12 years in europe, New York City and Tokyo, and dining at just about every "best rated" restaurants in the world, like Maxim's and Tour D"argent in Paris, the original Lutece in NYC ,and during my 10 years here---that, Michael's tops them ALL here in LV. Yes, you could say there is no view or orchestra, but that would just be "playing games". There isn't a category of food/service/ambience you could offer up that wouldn't come up 5 stars!!! From the minute you enter! I think my only slight disappointment, is that the more formal dress code that I first experienced has now dissipated. Minor price to pay for the best "euro" dining experience you can have in Las Vegas."

"The service was fantastic, very attentive, paid attention to all details. The food was sooo good. It was pricey but worth it. They start you out with a crudite platter of vegies they pickle(OMG!) b4 the meal they give a dish of lemon-lime sorbet with a shot of Dom Perignom added, the chateaubriand was so tender and was served with the best Bearnaise sauce ever. They complete your meal with a platter of chocolate covered fruit and a fresh fruit bowel. Gotta try this place."

"We brought out-of-town guests for their first Michael's ecperience. They loved the food and experience but were disheartened going through the casino to get to the Michael's entrance. Prices are high and especially in comparison to other fine dining we experienced on the Strip."

"Michael's was a truly amazing and perfect place for my S/O and I to have a romantic night out. I love this place. The service was impeccable from beginning to end. I felt like a queen and wanted for absolutely nothing. From the salad, relish tray, and bread appetizers to the beautiful steak and crab cakes everything was amazing. We also had a creme brulee, cherries jubilee and various choclate dipped fruits. You cannot leave this place hungry. A higher end priced restaurant but worth every cent. No rushing, very romantic and just all around ambiance perfect for enjoying your time together. We will definitely return!"
