"As usual the food and service was great. However, they have to do something about cigar and cigarette smoking on their small outdoor front porch right by their entrance. Not a great way to greet guests."

"Mother's Day Brunch was a home run. They presented a beautiful soup and salad bar, Our entrees were delicious and dessert was a decadent treat. We were done with our meal in a little under an hour. I believe it was due in part to the best service I have ever received at Jurich's. Our server was friendly, appropriately solicitous and seemed to always show up exactly when needed. I have no complaints. It was a fantastic meal. The Bistro brunch offered a kid's menu, which was actually half plate servings from the main menu. My only suggestion would be to add something a bit more kid friendly. I would not normally recommend bringing children to The Bistro, but it was Mother's Day. Most groups were with their family."

"Took my wife to Todd Jurich's for Mother's Day Brunch...absolutely FABULOUS! The prix fixe menu was superior! We had a table of four and we each ordered a different selection...all were to perfection! Mimosas and Bloody Marys were best we've had in Norfolk and the soup/salad buffet provided a wonderful selection, all very well done. The host and wait staff were attentive...but not overly so, which made for a great way to celebrate the special day. Always impressed with everyone and everything @ Todd Jurich's!"

"I am from out of town and from the web site, it looked good. I brought clients there and was really disappointed at how basic the food was. Ambiance was good and the service was good, but the food was really unremarkable."

"Our waitress (Tiffany) took the drink orders and then without enthusiasm told us the specials. She immediately asked us to order. We did, chatted a minute and realized she had not asked if we wanted appetizers, bread or salad. We put in our salad order that was served with dinner because the dinner order was being prepared. After dinner she asked if we wanted dessert, without a desert menu to look at. One ordered the $7.95 cheese tray and she said the price was by what cheese you ordered, she didn't have much info on that. The person cancelled . As we drank coffee she had pulled up a chair to be seated at one of the customer's tables. The food was good, atmosphere very nice, shame to have the evening ruined by poor service.."

"In town for the Il Divo concert and booked Todd Jurich's after looking at Norfolk restaurants on the Internet. It was a great choice. Wonderful salmon and the restaurant had no problem with taking a reservation for a single. Definitely was a plus for my getaway."

"We live nearby, but had not dined here recently due to a previous bad experience. We decided it was time to try again. Unfortunately, things have not improved.
Food: For the 1st course, I had a garden salad & my husband had the pork belly. My salad was a pile of greens thrown together w/no dressing. My husband's pork belly was dry & tasteless. For 2nd course, I had ahi tuna & my husband had the kobe ribeye. My ahi was overcooked, tough & tasteless. My husband's steak was clearly NOT a kobe (although charged $50).
Service: Our waitress was pleasant & knowledgeable of the menu. However, she needed assistance to open a bottle of wine & was unable to recognize that the quality of food was lacking.
Poor value for the $$$'s."

"I appreciate the fact that the server and chef were willing to go above and beyond to explain the menu items. The grouper was just as described. Cooked with local food and not too heavy. Very healthy. The wine selection is fabulous! I love this place!"

"Todd Jurich's has exceptional service and food. We have been numerous times and have always enjoyed ourselves at lunch. The newer organic egg salad sandwich was delicious. I hope that stays on the lunch menu!"

"Went for the entertainment and had a late dinner. Meal was well prepared and served promptly. Extensive wine list made it hard to choose. We were seated by the door, but didn't notice any problems with a draft."

"I had very I hopes for this place. Our server was good, but the food was not. I am from Virginia Beach, and the seafood at Todds was not cooked well. Maybe it was an off night or maybe the flavors are not for me. The she crab soup did not have any lump crab meat in it and the flounder was very dry and for the price I was expecting fine dining. I will not be returning."

"Ordered the ribeye, received the filet mignon by mistake. I decided to give it a shot and not say anything, my mistake. The cut was tough and overcooked. Ended up paying for the ribeye on the bill anyway. Girlfriend ordered the meatloaf - phenomenal! Best taste by far in regards to meatloaf. All other aspects of the meal were on par with the exceptional evening we had. I would return."

"The breads were excellent!! The Pumpkin crab soup was not nearly as good as it has been in the past. Not much crab in it and not as sweet and spiced as it was. The shrimp and grits were not good. Very little grits and they were "soupy". There was some kind of gnocchi with the salmon and the gnocchi was horrible. The salmon was great. Overall not as good as in previous years."

"After a mix-up on tables (there were several available but we were told to wait)everything else was wonderful. We've been going to Todd's for decades, and after the super-splurge 00's, he has reset simpler, smaller, and no more $1,500 Bordeaux. But the local standards are still superb - oyster stew, flounder, rockfish, bread pudding. Stick to the old favorites and you will love this place."

"Great dinner! Big party had half the place booked so we were at a table by the door. But Emily and Gordon provided great service to go with an excellent meal. The pumpkin crab soup was exceptional. The live music was really good too!"

"We went here for Valentine's weekend and the food was delicious. There was a jazz pianist playing which really set the mood. My only reservation about this restaurant was that it was pretty pricey. There was a special menu for Valentine's Day that was pricier than the normal menu so maybe if I went back it wouldn't be as expensive. Overall, I'd definitely recommend Tood Jurich's Bistro!"

"It wasn't that busy, but our server forgot a drink my husband ordered. She charged us for it, but never brought it to our table. Also, the Kobe Beef Ribeye was chewy and flavorless. My friend's husband, who is Vegan, was charged $60 for five small sides. We went on Valentine's Day so maybe the food would be better on a regular night."

"We felt duped. We were able to see the menu the night before online, but when we arrived for dinner half of the things weren't being served. The filet that advertised the night before had an added $15 charge ?!? The service was ok but we felt the young man serving us was condescending and under prepared. When I asked for a glass of wine and waited 20 minutes I was told the kitchen messed up, while we then watched him punch in the order. I remember when Bistro was intimate and home grown. I think they are relying on the old name and skimping by. It isn't what it used to be and it's unfortunate for such a fine restaurant to pull the old " bait and switch ". We were disappointed to say the least."
