"Food was good, not great. For the price, the food didn't stand up. If I buy a $45 steak, it had better take me to another world. This one was average. Again, food was good, but the prices were way to high for the quality."

"This my first visit since the name change from Branch Water Tavern. The oyster appetizer was very good but the rest of the food was more ordinary and the menu is less interesting now and focused on grilled items. The prices seems also seem much higher than I recall."

"Great spot in an old neighborhood. Loved the old feel, brick walls and old plank floors. Great choices on brunch menu. First time visit and pleasantly pleased. Very nice for a tavern, but typically noisy."

"Food was good, although similar foods at local establishments slightly cheaper. Because of the competition for your restaurant dollars in the area, will probably be a while before we return due to the slightly overpriced fare. Service was very good, although this alone does not overcome price of fare."

"Had a great evening at Branchwater. Awesome whiskey selection and great service. Was surprisingly not crowded for a Friday night. The fried oysters app was outstanding, and my filet was cooked to perfection."

"Been wanting to try Branch Water for a while based on friend recommendations. On first visit, they did not disappoint. Wine selection was solid, appetizer menu robust (try the tuna tartar), and main selections were prepared well. Will return."

"Great food enjoyed by all three. Completely different dishes ordered and each raved about each dish. BBQ bone arrow is enough to share, beautifully presented and superb. Stuffed veal might be their signature dish....also superb. Glad I/We found Branch Water Tavern. Will try the bar area and impressive whiskey collection when not my turn to drive."

"I was looking forward to dining here after hearing good things about it. We had a simple lunch, burger and caesar salad that we split. The burger and fries were very good. My caesar salad was overdressed but edible. However, my companion's caesar salad was drenched in so much dressing that when you pulled the romaine leaves away it looked like a bowl of soup. That basically made it inedible for him which we reported to the waiter. He was very nice and said he told the kitchen about it but there was no offer of replacement or a credit on the bill. The money didn't matter but it seemed like some kind of gesture would have been appropriate. As a consequence, it makes it hard to recommend this restaurant to others."

"Visiting from out of town, and went with friends after we read reviews on Open Table and were intrigued by extensive whiskey selection- which was excellent. Appetizers (fried oysters and duck pate) were very good. Salads ( wedge and roasted beet) were also very good. Then got the main dish- the diver scallops and the pork chop. Scallops were good-ravioli inc. were the best part of dish. Pork chop was huge, but dry, and with a tasteless sauce. After starting with such a great start, a real let-down. Service was excellent until the main dish was served-- then it disappeared! We had planned on ordering a dessert to share. But waited over 15 minutes for coffee and dessert menu. Restaurant was not that busy....."

"Spectacular butternut squash soup with lobster ravioli!! Fabulous crab cake with nothing but jumbo lump crab -- the best ever! Chicken fried oysters were a disappointment, however. Beet salad was unique and very tasty. The sticky toffee dessert was unbelievable, and worth every single calorie! Server was too aggressive, and ruined the "feel" of the evening."

"I loved BWT! Went there with another couple to celebrate a special occasion. Everything we ordered was delicious, fresh, and creative. Dinner portions were sizable, but dessert portions were small. If you're a dessert person, order your own :) Don't be fooled by the name... Branch Water Tavern sounded like an informal place to me, and despite the rustic build of the building, it's a very romantic and intimate restaurant. I would recommend getting a little more dressed up than usual, although they do allow jeans. This would definitely be a great place to take a date or for a special occasion. Also, the bar was pretty big and I can see that being a neat place to hang out just for cocktails and apps."

"I think the food was fine but not what I was expecting from all of the comments and reviews that I have seen. The crab cake was great and the bar b que bone's were also tasty. I was not happy with the size of the stone crab claws since they are $5.00‚ each they should be quite large. The claws we had were just a bit larger than your gulf blue crab claws that are served at several seafood restaurants. The english toffee cake was a great dessert. Wait staff was great. I think the menu my need a few changes."

"The fixed priced menu for valentines day was amazing and memorable. All of the courses were delicious, from the chicken fried oysters, to the tuna tartare, the filet, the Chilean sea bass, the trio dessert and even the spicy jam for the bread all were perfectly prepared and cooked. I will defiantly be back sometime soon."

"The food was great (cease salad and black drum fish). We were there early so got a nice table (# 19). Service was good but waitress was a bit chatty while we were eating our entrees."

"We dine at Branch Water about once a month. Service has definitley improved under the new ownership. Under the past ownership, service was hit and miss. Food was great which it usually is at Branch Water. Overall, good experience."

"The food was delicious, one of the best crab cakes I've had. Very plump, large chunks of crab and hardly any filling, with a perfectly matched sauce on top. The burger was one of the best in town, and the sticky toffee pudding for dessert is not to be missed, it was nearly as good as what I've had in London! And who knew you could make brussel sprouts so delectable?! Even though ownership just changed, it felt like the new management was going out of its way to let the customers know they really cared about our experience at the restaurant. Looking forward to making this visit only the first of many to come!"

"The fried oyster appetizer was great as usual. I had the beef carpaccio with arugula. My dinner companion had the sirlion. Both were superb. I am never disappointed when I eat at this resaurant. We went on superbowl sunday, so the restaurant was empty, nut the waitstaff was very happy to see us and we had a great dining experience."

"There was a problem with the entree of one person in our party. The staff and management were quick to respond and correct the issue. The owner came over to apologize and thank us for pointing it out! Cannot wait to go back!!!"

"We were a little worried about going to BWT this past weekend in light of the news that the Chef will be shuttering this version of the restaurant within the next couple of months and giving it over to another restaurateur. And frankly the waitstaff was giving off some of that same vibe.
So we were very happy to have a delicious meal that lived up to our past BWT experiences. The chicken fried oysters with Frank's Hot Sauce were as good as ever AND they now came 6 to an order which meant that two diners can share equally--smart move. The scallops and chicken were both very well prepared entrees with the crispy pancetta on the scallops a perfect addition.
The wine list seemed to leave a few things to be desired though--closing related?"
