"Very high quality ingredients, creative preparation, perfect saucing, and professional presentation. Entrees (fish, chicken), salads and appetizers were simply exceptional. The only mis-step was the dry aged ribeye, which lacked flavor and texture. All in all, however, this was a superb Mother's Day choice. We will be returning on another special occasion. Kudos to the kitchen."

"I took my fiancée to Iridescence for her birthday which proved to be an excellent choice. The view from the top floor at Motor City Casino was amazing only surpassed by the excellent service and the creativity of the meals. The price was a bit more then I had expected so it may not be a weekly event. But certainly once a month is not out of the question. For two of us including drinks and tips it ran about $150.00. But like I said....I'd both recommend it and go back in a heart beat."

"This was our first time dining here and it won't be the last. We really enjoyed all three courses we had, The Cyclical salad was the most innovative I've ever had. The salmon was outstanding and the tropical fruit sampler for dessert was just superb. We really liked the coconut chocolate chip ice cream and the passion fruit creme brulee. The service as well as ambience just made the evening perfect."

"Staff is outstanding, from the hostess to the wait staff - everyone is helpful and PLEASANT - a tough combination to find - definitely 4 DIAMOND service. The food is divine - jumbo shrimp cocktail - mmmm. Scallops that melt in your mouth. The beef dishes are grand - 24oz ribeye could feed a party of 4. Chateaubriand huge. Our party of 4 had leftovers the next day. The best lamb dish I've had in years...sorry Greektown!!"

"P-H-E-N-O-M-I-N-A-L. Hands down the best DRW experience to date. My husband and I celebrated our birthdays in a window seat for two. It is a bit hard to convince him to go downtown since he's not from Michigan (PHX) and isn't impressed with Detroit AT ALL. However, on this joyous occasion, he couldn't keep from closing his eyes to savor the food and tell me that we will definitely be back here. I had to stop him from licking the plate ;) We are foodies at heart and all 3 courses were delicious. I can't wait to come back and experience the regular menu - especially the gost cheese & beet salad. The ambiance is classy from the parking to the top floor. The night time view and service were equally wonderful. THIS is how you do it Detroit!"

Was slightly disappointed that I made a note during my reservation that I preferred a table next to the window, we were seated more in the middle if the room and within 5 minutes there were multiple window tables open for the remainder of our meal, I would have waited a few extra minutes for the table we wanted next to the view we paid for. "My wife and I dined at Iridescence for our 11th anniversary. We had a window-side table with a breathtaking view of Detroit, the river and across to Canada. It was Detroit Restaurant Week and we partook of the prix fixe menu. We had the good fortune to get Bao Ly as our server. She remembered us from three years ago. I had the Bouillabaise and my wife had the Caprese - both appetisers were awesome. She had the whitefish and I had the braised beef rib. Once again, excellent, with really nice presentation. Executive Chef Benjamin Meyer was nice enough to share how to make the creamy, delicious polenta they had prepared. Finally, the peanut butter mousse, banana ice cream & chocolate wafer dessert was a decadent ending to a superb meal."

The waitress was great, let us try the wine before buying a bottle, very helpful in selecting dishes since she had tried them herself. Appetizer of bouillabaisse was fantastic, had the whitefish for dinner. Great portion sizes, and incredibly flavor ful. The peanut butter bar dessert was fabulous. Even the bread was artisanal. Fantastic choice for restaurant week, great value for the money. Based on the normal restaurant prices, not sure if I'd go for their regular menu. "Iridescence has it ALL. The food is outstanding. I have never had a more well thought out and prepared meal. Everyone in my party declared their food excellent. The appetizer of pork belly nacho served in a mini fry pan was not only visually beautiful, but delicious. Main course of short rib was full of complex flavors that worked perfectly together. Peanut butter chocolate bar doesn't totally describe the dessert which also has a banana foster, salted peanuts and a mini ice cream scoop! Service can only be described as impeccable! Our waitperson knew details about each dish, made thoughtful recommendations and was incredibly attentive without being bothersome. Each time one of us got up from the table our napkin was refolded!"

"We brought our son visiting from Vancouver to enjoy a nice dinner with a view. All of our food selections were excellent. He mentioned the Bouillabaisse was the best he has ever tasted. The wine suggested by our server - a 2002 Penfold Bin 707 Cab Sav from Australia was smooth and rich. Wait staff was attentive, discreet and professional. The restaurant has a lovely ambiance and you could hear the piano player during dinner which was very relaxing. Definately a night he will remember!"

"Our group really enjoyed our meal here. I think we all ordered off the DRW menu and really enjoyed our dining experience. I will say I was not as impressed as I usually am by my main dish. I'm vegetarian and have loved the 5 other times I ate here, but this time the main course did not meet my usual expectations for dishes here. It was nice but not what I'm used to..."

"We went to Iridescence during Restaurant Week. The bouillabaisse ingredients were overcooked and dry. The scallops were as dry as stale miniature marshmallows and looked a bit like like them. The fish entrees appeared burnt...not sure how they were allowed out of the kitchen. The chicken entree was nothing special, although the potato fritter was nicely done. All in all, it seemed that the same attention that one supposes is given to the preparation and presentation of the regular menu items ( read, pricier) was not apparent in the prixe fixe menu items. If the purpose is to introduce diners to new restaurants to which they will be eager to return, as well as pay regular prices, then Iridescence failed with us."

"We didn't know if was restaurant week so we were disappointed the our usual favorites were not there. The food was still very good but our waitress was extremely slow and unsure of herself.This visit was not as good as usual but we will still be back."

"Excellent food, service, waitress was very knowledgeable and helped us make the right selection. The slider was delicious. First time at a four star restaurant, the portions are not what you find in most restaurant. So don't be surprised by the portion size, but you are paying for the ambience and quality of the food."

"Just a lovely Detroit gem. The magnificient view of the city from the window tables will surprise many. Menu items are high end which should be expected. However bar prices are reaonable, if not less or at least competitive with less fancy places locally or in other major cities. Excellent wait staff! This is my second visit and I will return for another special dining evening."

"My husband and I went for our 11th anniversary and it was a very nice experience. I had one of the specials of the night which was 16 oz of lamb, medium well. My husband had 24 oz. New York strip steak, well done, which was succulent. The crab cake appetizer was delicious and flaky. I wasn't expecting corn in it but it was still good. My husbands Caesar salad left a lot to be desired, very plain and bland, but that was the only downside to the meal. Chocolate mousse for dessert was rich, smooth, and creamy and they put a little chocolate wafer that said Happy Anniversary on it - nice touch!
Our server, Bao Ly, was a delight. She was very knowledgeable about the menu & appropriately attentive. We will be back."

"We were excited about attending the Rachelle Ferrell concert at Sound Board, so Iridescence became the convenient and classy choice for pre-concert dining with our cousins. It was a wonderful experience! Jaimie, our server was a delight and our meals were not only beautifully presented, but also delicious!
