Bosphorous Turkish Cuisine - Winter Park
Bosphorous Turkish Cuisine is a family owned business, established in 2005, that offers variety of authentic Turkish food from many regions of Turkey. Bosphorous Turkish Cuisine adapted its name from one of the oldest cities in the world, Istanbul, which was once known as the Constantinople in the early 13th century. The name “Bosphorous” taken from the strait that lies in the center of Istanbul connecting the Black Sea and the Sea of Marmara, Europe to Asia. The decor of this eatery is kept to minimum to draw the attention to the food. The intent was to create a modernized, warm authentic atmosphere by taking the old elements of Istanbul and combining it with some modern influences to create a truly unique experience.

"We love Bosphorous! The food is prepared fresh daily and never disappoints. We always have so much, we take it home and have enough for another meal or 2. We love the Lavas (Hollow Bread), the mixed appetizer plate, and the salads. Service is very friendly, just make sure you have some extra time if they're busy."

"It was so loud my group of 6 didnt even try to talk to each other. The lunch prices were dinner prices. The waitress was very pushy trying to run our bill up. She gave us a hard time with the coupon they offer if you like them on facebook.
3 couples paid between 80-105 dollars each for cafeteria food. I ordered the cabbage roll. It was mushy and bland and the lamb was overpowering tasting more like goat and yes i ate goat in mexico. The others ordered the special shish kobab. It wasnt on a stick. It was gyro meat piled on a plate just like you get at the mall. The entire experience was terrible. The tip was included so we were forced to tip so the waitress could care less. We had to chase her down to get the check. No on the olive oil!"

"This was our first visit to this restaurant. It was a very good meal and the food was very tasty. The prices were a little high on the meals, and we ordered the $21 sample appetizer of various dips but didn't know until we received the bill that they charged an additional $9 just for the bread that came with it to dip in it which I think is pretty expensive for lavash. I think that was because it is located on Park Avenue. Our bill was $325 for 6 people including several beers and the Turkish drink sampler which was $20. All in all it was a great meal with awesome friends and good memories for all :)"

"We dined here on a Saturday night with grandparents, parents & teen. Food is amazing and plentiful. Server/service excellently attentive. Nicely decorated inside & fun sidewalk seating outside. Ordered appetizer of Lavas for the table with sides of Babaganoush, Tarama-plenty for 6 of us. We've ordered the mixed appetizer before which is great for your first time to figure out what you like. Husband & I shared the mixed grill (the one that serves 2-feels like it could serve 3 or 4 if you also get an appetizer). Everyone brought home a doggy bag. For desert, my son would not share his Baklava. So, we ordered 1 additional Baklava (you get 3)& the Turkinsh Pineapple Delight (4 of us shared). Yum."

"The food was great, our server was excellent, I rated the "service" a 3 because when we arrived they did not have our open table reservation. (I checked the email confirmation from and we had the correct location) Instead of just seating us the manager on duty and host made us feel like it was an imposition to find a table for two in their empty restaurant. After fussing for a bit over their floor layout the manager finally directed the host to seat us in the most uncomfortable corner possible. We asked to switch to a less tight two-top and after consulting her manager we were finally moved to a spot with some leg room. Typically I have not had this issue here so they must have anticipated a huge Thursday night rush."

"Too noisy. Our table was right by the service entrance, and our conversation was constantly interrupted by servers coming and going. Why they sat us there is beyond me, given the fact that the restaurant was virtually empty when we arrived. Because one of our party used a walker, it was too much bother to get up and move. Were we being discriminated against because of the walker? On the other hand, the server went out of her way to give great service.
The food was OK, but not great. Seems that this restaurant is way past its prime. More of a tourist trap than fine dining. I've had better Middle Eastern fare from street carts in NYC. We won't be back."

"We were seated at a table for four, kind of in a walkway. The restrauant is dark and the outside sun blinded me through the meal. One diner had a vetartarian dish that should have been served with bread. However, the bread was an extra item to be purchased. I had a mousaka which was "mousaka" only in name - covered with CHEESE and very light on the ground lamb. It was more like eggplant stew, not mousaka! Of the other diners, one had the spiced ground lamb and the other spiced ground chicken. These dishes were well prepared, flavorful, and the portions were generous."

"Great food! Reminded us of our trip to Istanbul! The entrees are a bit pricey (but about what you'd expect in Winter Park). My fiance is from England and even claimed that this is the best restaurant that he's been to in Orlando so far!!! The portions are massive, so come with an appetite (we had to take half home). I had the grilled salmon, and my fiance had the mixed grill (which was really good!). We had the "Appetizer for two" and the lavas bread which was really good and filling. I definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone in the Central Florida area."

"I have a mediterranean heritage and think the food was very authentic. That said, the lamb was a bit strong - very good, but it might not be pleasant for certain palates.
The yogurt dip was outstanding. Had the Turkish red wine - delicious. Hummus was likewise incredible.
Best of the meal was the Chicken Sauté in the cream sauce. Was out of this world.
ONLY thing keeping this from being a 5 was the price. The Select Two is $10.50. Was delicious and high quality, but a bit of sticker shock for the portion size."

"Over priced and way too noisy. I though my wife and I would have a nice romantic dinner to celebrate Valentines day, it was anything but that. I would not recommend to my friends."

"Upon arrival we were asked if we could promise to be done with our meal by 8:30pm because there was a reservation for that time at our time. Well… our reservation was at 6:45pm and being asked to be “done by a certain time” was unprofessional, rude, and set the tone for us on out very first visit. We were then seated in the crammed bar area where there was no chance for any romance or private conversations. A table for 4 was split into two and separated.It wasn’t ideal and the ambiance was poor. Service and food was exceptional, we will go back for those 2 reasons but will ask to sit somewhere else."

"The lavash bread is great, especially with hummus and roasted eggplant dip. I had the chicken kabob. It was good but a bit dry, and the only veggies that came with it were a pile each of raw shredded carrots, raw red onions, and pickled beets. My husband liked his moussaka. My 18-yr-old (her birthday) got the veggie saute; it was heavy on the sauce. My 14-yr-old got the spinach/feta thingy (can't remember what it was called, but it was like spanakopita); it was very spinachy. Nothing was bad, but I was expecting better from their prices and from a previous visit. Our server was awesome. The tables are so crammed in that among our table and two adjacent ones, the server could hardly get in and then couldn't get out!"

"Great food and quickly served despite the nearly "full house" on Valentine's night.
My wife and I are in our 60's. Server asked us for ID. She thought it was complimentary and funny. I did not. Otherwise, her service was very good.
Overall, a nice experience, and I would like to return on a less busy night. Then I might rate higher for "ambiance" and "noise". It is tough to have a great dining experience anywhere on nights like Valentine's."

"Went for Valentine's Day and after complaining vigorously about our table, we were given better seating. The food was very good. The Turkish wine was also nice but over priced. Service was good but not exceptional. I would definitely go again."
