"We celebrated our 20th anniversary here last night. I was a bit apprehensive about coming here after reading some recent negative reviews. What a joy it was to find those fears to be unfounded. From walking through the doors through finishing the last bite of dessert, we were treated exceptionally well by everyone. The team assigned to our table was friendly and helpful. They had an extensive wine list appealing to just about any budget. The food was superb. The lobster bisque was one of the best I've had. The entrees were presented beautifully and tasted fantastic. The view was outstanding. As North Central residents, we are really glad to find what is now going to be a regular nearby destination."

"Our 10th anniversary began with a winding drive up to this mountaintop restauant through the Pointe Hilton Tapatio Cliffs Resort. We were seated at a table that afforded a wonderful view of the twinkling lights of Phoenix below. From start to finish, the service was excellent. Because we chose the chef's tasting menu with wine pairings, the sommelier stopped at our table 4 times, to tell us about each of the wines poured. At one point, the restaurant manager stopped by to see how everything was going for us. All of the people who waited on us, including our main server, were attentive friendly, and good. Combine the excellent service with the delicious food and great view and it goes without saying that we will return."

"I must say the food was fabulous. We really enjoyed the Scenic view along with the great atmosphere. We had our first date at the different point of view and this was our second time coming here. "We celebrated our 20th anniversary at A Different Pointe of View. The only thing that keeps us from giving them an overall rating of outstanding was that the otherwise outstanding ambience was considerably diminished by the noise level. There were a number of tables in close proximity to ours with four to six guests. Each of these tables were rather loud and together the noise level was more than uncomfortable at times.
We don't see how the management could gracefully prevent this type of inconsiderate behavior by guests. Everything else was outstanding or better. We will, without a doubt, return to this "very good plus" restaurant.
The chef, staff, and view added a wonderful experience to our celebration."

"I never give five stars and this deserves, they earned every one. I was celebrating my 58 birthday and this was the finest dinner I have ever had. That is saying something as I traveled extensively in my 40 year career, lived on the road and ate out more than at home!
We ordered the Chef's taste menu and it was a five course meal that was to die for, almost too beautiful to eat. Service was excellent and attention to detail amazing! Ambiance is by far the best Maricopa county has to offer.
My dinner partner feels the exact same way, total of 4 thumbs up!"

"Excellent experience! We started out on the patio to watch the sunset and have a drink, and moved inside for dinner. It was a great evening. I remember coming to the DPV 20 years ago!!! What a tribute to maintain excellence for all those years. We started with the lobster bisque and then halibut and pork tenderloin. DPV gets it right from the preparation to the portions. Well worth every penny. Oh yes, we ended the wonderful experience by going back to the patio to enjoy the band, firepits, and city lights for a few minutes. We will be back!"

"My husband Rich and I have been patrons of Different Pointe of View many times since we moved here from Chicago 7 years ago. We try to visit about once a year. The views are spectacular! The food is wonderful! And the service is always superb! When I wanted to make reservations somewhere for our 21st wedding anniversary we imediately thought of Different Pointe of View. When it came down to making the reservation the only time slot open was 9:30pm. We were hesitant eating that late but since we love the place so much we made an exception. There was a special Valentine's day 5 course meal that again was excellent. I highly recommend Different Pointe of View to everyone!"

There was a band playing Frank Sonatra on the patio outside, and the patio itself was overlooking the shimmering Phoenix city. "The Chef's menu for the night, combined with the exquisite wine tasting made our anniversary dinner incredible! The wine list alone is considered one of the best in the business and is extensive. We also had some blue sapphire martinis complete with cigars while overlooking the city. It set a great mood for the entire evening!"

"The atmosphere far exceeded our expectations. Too bad the food and service did not measure up. For the price, we deserved top notch quality. But, for heavens sake, $12 for a salad consisting of two leaves of lettace topped with a paper thin slice of cheese sitting next to a miniature pear. My companion's steak passed muster, but my $35 halibut was dried out and tasteless. Service was spotty: no offers of refills on water, butter or bread and long gaps of time between visits from our waiter. The wine list was, indeed quite impressive, but with only few bottles under $100. Really, who pays $5,000 for wine? Go for the view and appetizers, but for a memorable meal, go elsewhere."

"A Different Pointe of View is an outstanding restaurant perched at the top of a mountain overlooking Phoenix. You can see the lights of the entire city while dining at a window table. It is at the top of an outstanding property owned by Pointe Hilton Tapatio Cliffs Resort. The food and service are very good--it is one of the finer restaurants in the United States outside of San Francisco and perhaps New York. There is a good bar adjacent to the dining room and the wine list is excellent and award-winning."

"I was not impressed with the service. We were celebrating both a 2nd anniverary & a 90th birthday as mentioned in our reservation. Although they did offer a glass of champagne for the anniversary couple nothing was done to acknowledge the 90th birthday. The anniverary couple had their nuptials at the Pointe last year. I was annoyed the bill included an automatic 20% gratuity because I did not feel the service warranted it. We were definitely anticipating celebrating the anniverary of our children each year, however, based on the service we received, I have serious reservations about doing so in the future. Perhaps you believe $500.00 is an insignficant amount but I expect excellent service when spending that amouht."

"We had heard from friends that this was a great place to dine. They were correct. The food, wine, view, ambiance were all memorable. It is a very romantic setting and we had our 6th wedding anniversary dinner there. A great place to celebrate that special occasion. The restaurant location is a little difficult to find on first visit but worth the journey up the hill!"

"It is hard to describe the speacial attention and elegant behaviour of the staff. They were alert to our needs and wishes, and had a friendly but formal, and respectful attitude.The ambiance and service itself is a real treat, next to the exquisite food, prepared to perfection. The food was what we expected, with elegant presentation and just the right amount of quantity (for seniors). We were pleasantly surprised with a chef's special appetizer in the beginning and a lovely Happy Anniversary dessert at the end of our meal. I will come back again, to celebrate special events or show off to outsiders our "Beautiful and Classy City"."

"We took my parents for Christmas Day Buffet. The ambience and view were outstanding as always. The service from the waitstaff was very good. The food was fair to poor. It tasted like a bad buffet at a cheap hotel. The bread was dry and tasteless. I tried several different types of meat and they were all cold and dry. The potatoes were dry and cold. The salads were the best but nothing special. The desserts were unimaginative and pretty tasteless. For $425 for 4 people, we expected more. If not for the amazing views, we would never return"

"Service was excellent and very attentitive. Our waiter made us not only feel welcome, but, kept an eye on us to ensure every need was met. It made for a relaxing evening that proved to evolve into a special occasion.

"We had an outstanding dining experience when we selected the chef's tasting menu with the option for wine pairings. It was very pricey, but worth it. The food in each course was outstanding and the sommelier made excellent choices for each course that added much to the dinner. Add to that impeccable service and put it all on a mountaintop restaurant with expansive, gorgeous night views of Phoenix and it was a night to remember. Highly recommended for a romantic dinner or special occasion."

"I choose this restaurant for Thanksgiving dinner, a buffet. for my son and myself. The dinner and ambiance was terrific and the views were unbelievable. I felt the service was reasonably good but I had to request a cup of coffee after dinner and replacement silverware after returning from the buffet as it had been removed when my plate had been cleared. I was a little taken aback when I got the check and saw that a 20% gratuity had automatically been added to the bill. I haven't seen that practice since I last dined in Europe.. Would I go back? Yes, for a very special occasion. Would I ask them to recalculate the bill next time and allow me to add the gratuity? You betcha, soley based upon the level of service."

"Absolutely amazing restaurant. Beautiful view, and the food was to die for. The filet mignon and the pork were both fabulous dishes, and the ravioli was stupendous. We had a table in the corner of the room, against the big window, for the two of us. Perfect placement, and the service was excellent. They were very discreet about checking up on you, and they weren't around all of the time, which helped to aid the romantic feel of it (went for a 2 year anniversary). A little pricey, but worth every penny of it."

"The hostess put us at a table 1 foot from the double glass door leading to the outdoor dinning area, on a cold night. Thanks. A table of 15 across the restaurant can't be labeled lively, but EXTREMELY NOISY. Certainly not a place for a romantic dinner. Another patron next to our table had to request to be relocated, due to the large party. This is the fourth time eating here (we live 2 miles North of the Diff Pt of View, and can actually see it out of our home windows), and this was disappointing. When spending over $270 on a dinner for two, you don't want it to sound like the neighborhood sports bar. The food was spectacular this time."

"Everything was superb. Although we did not eat out on the patio because it was cold...on a nicer night it would be absolutely beautiful. The service was outstanding, food was great, ambiance was just right and an overall wonderfull. Would definately recommend. They even remembered my boyfriends Bday...the only complaint was there was no fresh ground pepper offered for salad."

"My wife and I had an awesome time at Different Pointe of View. Our waitor was very polite, knowledgeable, and met our every need that night. The view was spectacular. The best view I've had since I have lived here. You would just have to see it for yourself. Loved the menu and the food was great and the presentation was a delight. We would definitely go here again and again and would recommend this restaurant to everyone who enjoys great service and quality food with the best view in Phoenix, Arizona."
