The diverse menu includes a wide variety of mainstream American dishes, as well as a variety of entrees & appetizers with an international influence. Specialties include Baked Sea Bass in a miso-sake marinade, Almond Crusted Pork Tenderloin, & Kona Grill's signature dish - Macadamia Nut Chicken.
Kona Grill also features an award-winning sushi menu containing all of the traditional favorites plus several unique dishes created by talented sushi chefs.
"We have dined at Kona Grill many times, always enjoying the sushi rolls and various entrees. Because of diet considerations, I now have to be very careful as to what I eat, which limits restaurant choices. Kona Grill now has a skinny menu, which, when combined, with other low calorie offerings on the regular menu, makes for an enjoyable experience. For example, My husband had the glazed salmon, which was delicious, and a great dish for a calorie conscious dieter. Too bad that I had to bypass the desserts that I love to eat there!"

"My kids took me to Kona Grill for Mother's Day and I absolutely loved the food. The hostess was friendly when we arrived, my waiter was excellent, and most importantly the food was DELISHOUS! The steak was cooked perfectly and the lobster was nice and tender. I will be visiting Kona Grill on a regular basis!"

"I took my family to Kona Grill on the eve of Mother's Day. We were all very pleasantly surprised at how delicious the food was. My mother ordered the sea bass and gave me a bite of her dish, which melted in my mouth--probably one of the best tasting fish I've ever experienced and her sentiments were the same. My father ordered steak and also said it was one of the best cuts of meat he's ever had. My parents aren't quick to make statements like this so I was thrilled they enjoyed it so much. The dessert portions were borderline obscene, they were so huge I couldn't stop laughing when they arrived. But they were equally delicious (easily shareable for four people per plate) and gave us plenty to take home. Overall I loved the Kona Grill!"

"They have a glueten free menu, which is a nice option. I had my after party graduation dinner there, and everything was great. Service was good from the time I valet parked my car until I left the restaurant. Definitely recommend this. I did see another midsize party and a large party. So I do recommend for groups. Nice menu. The margarita flat bread and salmon entree were good. Their deserts are humongous. The brownie was my fav."

"This restaurant was awesome. Was my first time here and can not wait to go back. Food was great and drinks were great. If you go here, you need to get the miso-sake sea bass, it was phenomenal. The only thing I would say is do not get the sake for a drink. The sake is good but they serve it in a little tiny carafe and you only get about 3 tiny cups out of it. Besides that atmosphere was awesome a little noisy at times. Just an all around good place to get some good food. Not recommended for a romantic meal though."

"The place is fine, but nothing spectacular. Given the name, I expected it to be more "Hawaiian". Many of the menu items, such as meat loaf and clam chowder, just don't register as "island food" to me. They didn't even have a Mai tai on the specialty drink menu. Food and service were fine. Just thought it would have a different vibe and experience given the name."

"I was impressed with the looks of the restaurant and was really excited to try the food, as this was my 1st time. I ordered a volcano roll and a seaweed salad. The food took quite awhile to come out and when it did, I was shocked by the appearance and the portion size. I've been eating sushi for years and have never seen a volcano roll with a portion size so small and it didn't even look like a volcano roll. I mentioned this to the waiter because I figured maybe he gave me the wrong item but he assured me it was correct. Honestly, I'm still not convinced I was given the correct item. Normally 1 roll is enough to fill me up but I left the restaurant still hungry and bought food when I got back to work."

"In the past 6 months, we frequent Kona. However, each time we go in yet another item on the menu has been removed. So we will most likely only visit for happy hour as that time appears to have a better deal on drinks. Eating in the dinning room no longer interest my group because many of our fav items have been removed from the menu. Along with outlandish prices on drinks as simple as capt/coke."

"Sushi was ok but I've had much better for a lot cheaper. The tuna tower was excellent though. I thought this place was just ok and pricey. Definitely not that memorable an experience. Our waitres was very nice."

"The food was great! However, our waitress (Clarissa) was very rude & sarcastic. The service ruined my groups dinning experienced. A person in our group ordered an entree and a side salad & asked for the salad to be brought out first, our waitress answered him in a rude way "that's what I was going to do anyway." Later when she brought everyone's entree, we asked for the spicy mayo we ordered earlier, the waitresses responded with " if I had 3 arms I would have it with me right now." Our table was very patient with her & I would have to look for her & ask for a refill on my drink. I had to apologize to my group since this was the restaurant I chose."

"The shrimp and lobster sushi roll was delicious. The ultra premium junmai daiginjo sake was some of the best sake my wife and I have ever had. The noise level was higher that we preferred but it was tolerable. We were able to have a conversation with out raising our voices. This was our first time dining at Kona Grill. We are looking forward to coming back."

"This was our first visit to Kona Grill for dinner. My husband had lunch here and thought it would be a nice spot to try for dinner. We went with another couple and were anticipating a very fun evening. The restaurant is pleasantly decorated, the vibe is upbeat and the evening started off well; unfortunately, once our drinks were ordered, everything went downhill from there! We sent back four drinks because they were terrible! and our waitress took forever to serve us, be it drinks, appetizers or meals! In all fairness, she had a very large table to wait on as well as ours and a few others, but the manager should have been prepared as we all had reservations. The dinners were delicious and that is the only reason we will try it again."

"There is a wide variety to choose from here. From sushi to flatbread to burgers to Asian inspired entrees.
My wife had the tuna tower which was delicious. And a couple sushi rolls which I'd rate a B.
I had the Hawaiian Rib eye. Great flavor. The country style mashed potatoes that came with it, though seasoned well, were not creamy whatsoever. Pasty. And the broccoli was overcooked. Had the sides been properly done, they could've elevated a great tasing steak into an overall great dish.
The waitress was fine. Did the job adequately, but just took too long checking in, especially when we wanted the check."

"Food is good. Nothing spectacular. I would rate it as above chilis. But there are lots of better restaurants around that area. Service is good, a little slow. I wouldn't go back there for awhile, when there are so many other good restaurants near there."

"This is the third time I have visited Kona Grill for a special birthday celebration. It is always duly noted in the comment section on the reservation.
Service is always mediocre. Never ONCE was the persons birthday. I had a member of the NY Yankees celebration last year and it was NEVER acknowledged in any way.
It appears that the hostess station does not communicate with the server the special situation. VERY DISAPPOINTING.
Your servers on all 3 occasions are not familiar with the menu and could not answer any basic questions. I
Kona Grill will not be a first choice again.
Thank you , Livia"

"I made reservations for The Kona Grill for Valentine's Day and this turned out to be a great decision. While I was not a fan of every bit of the food we were served or menu choices, as I am from Hawaii and would have loved to see some more local style food made into fine dinning style (maybe a gourmet haupia or poke), the vast majority of the food was excellent. Both my guest and I had the Rib Eye which is a teriyaki version and is very good and authentic. The mashed potatoes that went along with it were a little too paste like for our taste, but the flavor was good. We split the bannana cream pie for dessert and this was excellent, with the crust being incredible. The service was great. Overall a very good Valentine's experience."

"Took my girlfriend here for Valentine's Day. She got a soft-shell crab sandwich and I had the special of the night (Steak and Lobster, $40). They were both delicious, but after tasting hers I think I would have gotten something on the normal menu because it was really awesome, and $25 less (I'm a student). Overall, really good food and nice service (was very good considering it was such a busy event night)."

"Appetizers are very generous portions. Had lettuce chicken which was fairly salty but tasty. Sushi was very fresh. If you enjoy a good beer, I recommend the Sam Adams Alpine Spring- very nice malty beer with mild hoppiness and citrus overtones. It was delicious."

"We went at lunch time and it was busy. Glad we had a reservation as we were 4 adults, 1 toddler and a baby. The staff accommodated us very well. The timing of the kitchen was really off. It took over 45 minutes for our food to be delivered. Good thing we were catching up with old friends. Once it got there, the food was not so fresh tasting. Not sure if they had part done and let it sit under the heat lamp while the rest finished or what.
Hopefully that is not the norm for them."

"Dont know if they were just having a bad night, but the service stunk. We arrived on time, were greeted and seated quickly. Took 15 minutes for anyone to come to the table. Ordered drinks and apps, apps came before my wine ever did. Asked for extra lettuce, never got it. Food was really good but the noise in the restaurant is so loud and to boot had a huge party next to us that were obnoxiously loud and got up and down constantly. . After the conclusion of the meal it took another 15-20 to get the waitress to come back and take e check. I usually always tip 20%, i just couldnt on this one. Would have been nice to ever see a manager or someone that might have cared walking around to check on tables and guests."

"We wanted to try something new for our Friday Date night, and Kona Grill was on the list. I guess it was early, because the main dining room was pretty quiet at 7, but the bar area was jumping (I think it was the happy hour specials, as the hostess pointed out if we wanted to sit in the bar for the specials). Service was pretty quick. Food was tasty, and the only complaint was one of the specialty sushi rolls we ordered for an appetizer was over 2" around... way too large! The Bread Pudding Apple cake was amazing!"
