"We ordered family style and were presented with platters of ribs, chicken and brisket, along with every side dish on their menu. The German potato salad was excellent. The chicken was perfectly cooked and very moist. The dry-rub brisket was a little dry but the BBQ sauces they bring to the table did the trick there. I would definitely go there again."

"With four of us dining, we were able to try a lot of different options. The cole slaw was great - not too much mayo, and the apple was a great addition. Brisket was served either "lean or moist", and we had a combination. Pulled pork was meaty and lean, and with the sauce, was quite moist. BBQ sauces come in regular, hot and sweet.
Our waiter was cordial, checked back with our table appropriately, and assisted us in getting the check quickly (we were leaving for the airport.)
A great place for casual dining, even with the energetic noise level."

"While the ambiance may not be as upscale as some of the typical Philly restaurants, Percy St definitely nails it with the food. This is good straight up BBQ. Perfectly seasoned and cooked meat and none of it is slathered in BBQ sauce. So even if you don't like BBQ sauce you can still have a great meal here. I went with a group of 6 and everyone found something they enjoyed. My only critique is that I really wish they had a more standard drink menu. Their beers are all over the place but you'll find it hard to get a standard domestic beer. Otherwise this was an excellent dining experience. Make sure you make reservations because you may get turned away without them. This is destined to be a great Philly staple."

"Although the menu was not big on selection, the food was great. The beer, gin, and whiskey selection was also prime and vast. The building had very high ceilings, original hard wood floors, and black and white period tile. The atmosphere was fun but VERY LOUD. The bar scene appeared casual and congenial for 20-30 somethings.
Our server was very nice and knowledgable but service to be slow. To the manager's credit he did come over to see how we were enjoying our experience. He told us the noise level was unusual due to the people drinking all day who had attended the South Street fair. Not sure that made it worse than usual but....
If are in the neighborhood we may try again..."

We waited quite awhile for our food, which was strange because others around us that were seated later we served first and we didn't order anything unusual. "I love this place! The BBQ is awesome, especially the sliced brisket sandwich with fried green tomatoes. For all you beer snobs, like myself, they have quite the list but it is all cans. I'm a fan but I'm sure there are those who prefer tap or bottles. This was the first time I sat at a table and it was fine but the bar is where it's at. The staff is super friendly and laid back. There was a group of ten or so there with large tables still up for grabs. Definitely give this place a try. Just don't wear white."

"arrived and couldn't find staff to mention we had a reservation. When we did, he acted snide about it. When seated we immediately received food we hadn't ordered even before ordering. The appetizer was cheese whiz. All I wanted was some good BBQ. Portion sizes were small, and the brisket was dry. The pulled pork was not cooked on low heat, as it had many globs of fat which had not rendered. When our entrees arrived we had to search for the waiter because we did not have the proper cutlery. I hadn't noticed that they neglected to give us knives which made eating the brisket difficult. All in all poor service, and poor food."

"This was the first time I have been to Percy Street since they have changed their menu. Overall, I like the changes. The biggest improvement in my eyes is that they slowed down the meal. Before, you would order your food and get it within a matter of minutes, making the meal more of a rushed enterprise than a dining event. The slowed-down service made eating there more of an enjoyable experience. The only thing I miss from the old menu is the Red Velvet cake...that was delicious. TIP: For anyone who has been dying to try the lamb at Zahav, but doesn't want to spend the money, try the lamb rib appetizer. The flavors are similar. While the sauces are different, it is clear that they have been smoked with the same flavors."

Overall, the food was decent. Service was good. The waiter immediately gave us his favorite dishes and recommendations which I like. Service was attentive and friendly. Had a reservation and was seated in 10 minutes which is good. The atmosphere is chill and trendy."

Hard to find good BBQ in the Northeast, but they do a very good job here: Brisket was moist and flavorful and the sauces were unique and tasty. The latter two have not changed, but the food has gone WAY downhill. The ribs were fatty and bland, now served on a plate instead of a basket. The sauces have been reduced to 2 from 4. The beans were bland when they formerly had a nice kick and the salad was drowned. I'm sorely disappointed in the turn they've taken. What happened????"

"Excellent & progressive BBQ! Go for the, a little bit of everything... for the appetizers you can only better the experience by ordering more. As for the entrees, well as I said... Go for the, a little bit of everything!
My favorites were the Fried Green Tomatoes (order the Avacado Salad to raise the bar), the sampler of BBQ since it was all too awesome to decide and you get all the sides. If you have dessert, the pecan pie is a must. Oh and the Percy Punch... Quite the tasty, with a nice punch."

"It's tough to say whether I'd recommend the restaurant or not. Not the best barbecue that I ever had. We have much better in New York City. But I don't know what the alternatives are in Philadelphia as I was visiting the city for the day. The chicken was very good. Brisket too. But the ribs were just ok. And the sides were just ok. Did not think much of the fried green tomatoes appetizer. Very noisy."

"I was very underwhelmed by Percy. The service was incredibly slow - like 20 minutes to take an initial drink order slow. And the food did not compensate. It was OK, nothing horrible, nothing memorable. Unfortunately, Percy will not be on my list of "repeats" with so many other worthy restaurants in Philly, this one does not measure up. Such a shame too - I was really hoping to love it!"

"I have been coming here since they opened. The ribs were the best in town until now. The have changed both the ribs and the preparation and in my opinon for the worse. They also changed the format of the menu which no longer lets a person order ribs by the rack. I was told that I could get the equivalent of a full rack if I ordered 2 portions. NO discount for the full rack. Appetizers were not really that great this time."

"Seriously disappointed.We got three appetizers, which were good, but just good. The fried green tomatoes were small and didn't taste like much other than fried food. The sauce was bland and uninspired. The turkey tails were a little chewy and the Mac and cheese was the best of the 3. I ordered the burger medium, but what I got was a charred hockey puck. It was so dry I literally had to drown it with BBQ sauce to even make it palatable. Not to mention the bun was twice the size of the patty and it came with absolutely nothing. No fries, no chips, nothing. My husband got the ribs at the recommendation of our waiter and he said they were delicious but there were not many. After a $75 bill, we were both still hungry. Won't be back."
