"The food was great, but they were rushing us to eat and leave. All of the first course options came at the same time and the pace of the meal was very fast. We sat, got drinks, and were eating dessert within an hour."

"The food was obviously amazing. I would recommend 3 starters plattes, a main, and a side for two people. That'll keep you full and if you want to stuff yourself, dessert is waiting. If you are a hearty eater (I am, but my guest was not), I might recommend one more main dish. Everything was great!"

"I was with three friends and we had a variety of menu items and all seemed too salty. To start, we ordered meatballs, eggplant caponata, and ricotta and they were too salty. We followed with the salmon specials - three had grilled salmon on a bed of lettuces and I had salmon with tube pasta. I could not believe how salty my pasta dish was (could not finish it) and the others said thier salmon was too salty. We ordered a cake dish for dessert and it had strawberry jam on it!! At this time if year, you could not get fresh strawberries? Also we ordered a bottle of wine which cost $54 and it was very ordinary. There were few less expensive choices of wines. Sort of disappointed overall."

"I loved the look and feel of the interior of the restaurant. I walk by every day on my way to/from work and think about hwom uch I would love to dine here. I finally got to go. I went there with my parents and we split 4 appetizers and 2 entrees. Sal's old school meatballs and the baked pecorino were absolutely delicious. The bufalo riccotta bruschetta, however, was bland and really not anything I would recommend or order again. The only real complaint I have is that our server was not engaging. He did not tell us his name, he had trouble reciting the specials, spoke very quietly, and did not respond to our questions for direction/recommendations on ordering."

"Our reservation was for 19h00, we arrived 10min early and wiated at the bar, but we got or table only at 19h50 !

"As usual Amis was wonderful! My friend and I were celebrating her 30th birthday on Tuesday night-which was her first time to the restaurant. Over all 10 restaurant options I gave her-she chose you and we're both really happy she did. Aside from the pasta special with the pork jowl being over salted, everything else we ordered was a home run! The manager and server also sent out the dessert special for her b-day which to any table of two women is the best thing you can ever do so, we'll be seeing you soon. Thanks for a memorable night for my friend's birthday!"

"The 4 of us were impressed with the food:3 small plates (lamb, aracini, swordfish balls), one pasta dish. Our server was attentive, patient about describing the dishes, and eager to help. The food came quickly, and there was no problem in getting to the Kimmel. Our only complaint was the noise level: unacceptable because we could not hear each other across our small table. Some of the noise was due to a a large and noisy family group trying to converse from one end of their table to the other. The restaurant is not entirely to blame for the insensitivity of its patrons; however, the noise level was quite high when that table of 10 was empty. We will try again but think that 6 on a Thurs may be one of the quieter times."

"What can be said, it is a Vetri restaurant. The food was amazing, honestly, every course was a delight and experience. I would highly recommend asking the server to take care of ordering the meal. "I have been to Amis four times now, and every time I remember why I come back. "Once again dinner was excellent. Food,service ambiance all very good. We have been guest at AMIS many times now and never had a menu item we didn't enjoy. The food and service is consistenty outatanding. Menu additions are always a nice surprise as on this visit it was a Salmon Antipasti special. Staff know the food well and all are able to provide great assistance with ordering. Get the rice pudding or the Tiramisu which may not be on the menu."

"After being featured in Bourdain's No Reservations, reservations are a must. Amis is in demand--with good reason!
After living in the Washington Square West neighborhood for two years I finally made it to Amis. My only regret is not coming here sooner. Everything, down to the Foccacia bread, is delicious. The house wine carafe is a great deal and my favorite dish was the octopus with chickpea."

"Fun spot! We started with a wonderful imported bufala ricotta and black pepper bruschetta (highly recommend) and a series of server-recommended small plates, most of which were quite good. Between the small plates and the pastas/secundis everyone agreed the dishes were rather well-done classics, often with unique twists. The only things I'd pass on next time are the brussel sprouts, which seemed expected, and the cookie plate with vanilla semifreddo affogato -- the cookies were rather plain and dry. There was a lively atmosphere, and space is tight, but our group of four was comfortable."

"Our first time eating at a Marc Vetri restaurant and although the food was mostly delicious (save for dessert, which seemed more fitting for a Guy Fieri/Rachael Ray-type restaurant than a refined Italian one - e.g. waffles piled high with Nutella and ice cream), the service was sub-par, which was a shock. And the music was louder than a dance club (and bad music at that). Overall, Amis seemed a bit unsure of what type of restaurant it was or wanted to be."

"Great food all around. The cured meats are terrific. Service was outstanding as they gave us an extra app when the first one was running late. Also got a free desert as we planned to split one but they brought us both anyway! The place does get loud and has fairly loud music playing as well but it was packed. Book early."

"After many visits it never ceases to amaze us how consistent and excellent the food and service is. The special Short Rib over mashed was just delicious. Our concern is to resist over ordering because everthing is just so good. Can't wait to return."

"Amis is our favorite restaurant in Philadelphia. The food and service are always top notch, and we love the atmosphere. There were four of us on this visit, and everyone loved their meals. Try the mortadella mousse and the swordfish meatballs; you won't be sorry. Our lamb shank and grouper entrees were also hits, and the the chestnut fettucine with duck ragu was excellent. We'll be back!"
