"I made arrangements for a group if ten, one who has a gluten allergy and two who are vegetarians. The menu met both their needs very well. I had a last minute time change and that was accommodated without problem. Food quality and presentation were excellent and the staff was also excellent."

"For the second time, we really enjoyed the food/service/ambiance of Vivace! We had the mussel appetizer - mussels were large and tasty. I had the triggerfish special and my wife had the scallop pasta. Both dishes were excellent!"

"The brunch menu was limited for Mother's Day and even though they weren't overly busy, they still ran low on scallops. The kitchen staff made a horrible decion to cut back and only serve 1 and 1/4 scallops instead of 2 and tried to hide that fact with the risotto and watercrest or other leafy green.
I brought it to the attention of the waiter and he was apologetic and handled the situation very well. He comp'd my mother's meal which was extremely nice and unnecessary, but it just wasn't the relaxing and wonderful experience I hoped my mom would have on Mothers Day. The rest of my families entrees were also small but delicious. The dessert was very good."

"At first review of the menu, I was disappointed to see that the smoked chicken agnolotti was gone. However, the housemade cavatelli (with corn, pancetta and sweet potato cream) was awesome! Desert was also new but great choices."

"The host at the front door was terrible and she acted as if we needed her and sh wasnt willing to cooperate when we made reservation for 10. 12 people showed up and she would not pull up another table when the entire restaurant was empty. Our waiter was great and very knowledgeable of the menu that was written in italian. Food was great an overall it was a nice place and I enjoyed the experience. Also I asked my girlfriend of 4 years to be my wife at vivace."

"I've dined here about 4 times now and each experience has been a good one. We started with the bruschetta. It's really good. They don't use tons of tomatoes but rather things like mushrooms, artichokes, and cheese along with some chopped tomatoes. The tasty entrees were pasta and meatballs for my daughter, chicken pizza for me and my wife ordered the cod which she said was one of the best fish dishes she ever had. The restaurant is beautiful with plenty of cool places to sit and there's a dynamite second floor outdoor patio where you can relax with a glass of wine on comfy chairs and gaze at a great view of the skyline. Also, there's some really nice glass decor hanging from the enormous ceiling. All this and valet parking too!"

"I dined at Vivace with a group of friends to celebrate my last night in Charlotte, and had an incredible time and wished I'd discovered it sooner. The waiter was very attentive and helpful making recommendations. My caprese salad with roasted tomatoes was light and tasty, and the cavatelli with corn, pancetta, and sweet potato crema was a delicious, grown-up version of mac and cheese with a gourmet twist. Having spent a semester in Italy, I have high standards for Italian food, and was extremely happy with both the food and trendy, fun ambiance of Vivace. Highly recommend for a fun, tasty dinner or even happy hour on their upstairs porch with a great view of Charlotte."

"We went for Sunday brunch and it was average. The hostess was tired and unenthusiastic. The server was professional. The food was good, but not great. A few issues with receiving what we ordered. The overall experience came across as a tired crew working there and they just weren't into it."

"One of the best things about the experience was eating out on the patio. The view of the city is tremendous. Great spot for a restaurant. It was attractive inside, as well. It sounds like they also have a lounge upstairs with sofas, although I did not go see that.
The food was quite good - my only complaint was that it was too rich. I suggest trying the black boar ravioli as an appetizer, which was outstanding, but split it with someone (too rich). My husband got the veal, which was also tasty, but again, too rich. I had the tilefish, which was really quite nice. Only the bread was a disappointment."

Throughout the meal, our waiter seemed overwhelmed. Although I've had positive experiences at Vivace in the past, I was disappointed by this recent visit. "Lives up to the hype. I've only been to Vivace twice but both experiences -once inside, near the open-air kitchen, once outside on the terrace overlooking the Greenway- were terrific. There is a definite buzz and vibe to the inside scene but it's not pretentious and service is efficient and professional and never pushy or obnoxious.
We had great calamari and outstanding grilled artichokes to start, the black boar mezzaluna entree was rich and complex and the snapper special was exactly what was described by our very helpful waiter (Grant). Two of our diners had the same dish, one a starter portion the other the full entree size, of the sweet pea and ricotta ravioli with roasted chicken. Dessert was also perfect."

- Service was slow. We were there for 80 minutes only ate the entree. Not because we didn't want dessert, but we saw the server only 4 times the whole evening.
- Service was unreceptive. My hanger steak had a huge unappetizing piece of fat on it (Hanger usually doesn't have that much fat). Regardless, it shouldn't have been plated. Made the meal really unpleasant to eat with the hunk of fat staring at me all evening. Wife's fish was burned too.
- Finished our meal and our plates weren't cleared for another 15 minutes.
- Manager offered to comp dessert, but after menus delivered, didn't see the server again for an extended time.
- Server had a pompous attitude."

"The staff was young and inexperienced in my opinion. Our waiter did not want to talk to us...we would start to tell him something and he would smile and walk away. It was very awkward. I wish I had not gotten the pizza with meatballs...the meatballs were plain with no seasoning. The atmosphere was great, and we will give it another try but was disappointed, especially because it was an anniversary celebration."

"The food was good, however the service was atrocious. You go out to a restaurant for a variety of reasons and there are two reasons the experience suffers, food and service, and we had deal with shotty service. I've been to this restaurant multiple times however after my latest experience I will not be back. To add insult to injury the waitress had the audacity to add 20% gratuity for a party of 6, first time I've dealt with that and I've dinned at more expensive restaurants with larger parties. I guess these days you don't have to work for your money."

"Went here on a double date with my buddy and his wife. The atmosphere was fun, although a little loud at times. Cuold have just been the big group behind us. The wine list was limited, but still solid. The food was delicious - there were four clean plates at the end of the night.
I like this place and will be back. The only complaint is the parking in this area is atrocious. Vivace really can't help that, but just be aware.

"We had long wanted to try Vicace and a birthday celebration was a great excuse. Our reservation was fond and we were seated within minutes. Our main waiter and all the ancillary servers were efficient, friendly and professional. The food, from the complementary focaccia to the appetizers, the entrees and the desserts was all fantastic. We often order a few "classics" with which to compare different restaurants. This night was no exception: the fried calamari was excellent and just different enough to be an almost unique twist on a dish that is now found most everywhere. The tiramisu was also layered differently compared with most renditions. Both were terrific. Overall, a total home run of a night"
