"4 of us went to MIZU for the first time to check it out. Made reservations to be sure to get a seating at 6pm when we like to dine.
Got in and was immediately seated. I liked the energy of the place and was facing the sushi bar so could see the TV's that are mounted behind the chefs showing the various games that where on. This might bother some people but I liked it. 2 of us had items from the dinner menu and the other couple went for all different sushi menu items. They said the pepper poppers were just OK, but they liked all the other assorted items they ordered. I had the miso black cod and thought it was better than the one I just had recently at Roys in SF. The saba was good too. We also had the dragon roll and enjoyed it as well."

"I took my SO out for a bday dinner to MIZU. We had a great time and the food was fabulous. I liked the creativity with the sashimi, we had the a cajun influenced sashimi dish which was awesome. We ate all the rolls which were very well done. The service was prompt and the food came quickly, no awkward waiting. The ambiance was perfect, not too noisy but not too quiet. I would definitely go again!"

"Atmosphere was good, and the food was exquisite. My wife loves sushi, and had the spider and dragon rolls. She loved them. I who can't eat as much sushi as I used to, enjoyed a nice beef teriyaki dish which was excellent. Cici our waitress was attentive and friendly even during the height of the busy hour. Many thumbs up for this restaurant."

"Extremely clean, beautiful, modern decor, the servers were very helpful in explaining some of the different types of sushi rolls, the bartender had never made the drink I ordered but he went and looked it up in his bartender's book and made me one special! Can't wait to go back!"

"Went with my husband. We ordered, we decided to split a salad and tempura before our entrees came out. Mine never did, nor did my waitress or any other staff. So my husband was done with his entree while I was waiting for just a CA roll! Had to get up and flag down our waitress. No apologies nothing. Then had to flag her down again to pay for our bill. Spoke to the owner his response "oh wow sorry so embarrassing". No action, not even can I get that roll for you? Went home hunger. NEVER going back."

"We celebrated a birthday here. The food was excellent. Our table was ready for us when we arrived. Good thing we made a reservation because the restaraunt was full. It was liked by our guests so much they want to go back for their birthdays."

"On a scale of 1-10, i give it 7. The Speciality rolls are tasty. I particularly like their yumi yumi roll. Where I have to ding them was the quality of the sushi rice. I cannot tell of it was the quality of the rice or if the rice was over cooked but the lower quality rice stood out on the simpler rolls and nigiri. On the speciality rolls, there was so much flavor happening, you did not notice the rice. The portion size was a little smaller than usual (in the United States), when you are ordering, I would advise adding an additional roll to what you normally get. Overall the food was tasty and prompt, my water and ocha was kept full and the atmosphere was energetic but not loud. I would go here again and recommend this place."

"I like the place but it is a little loud. The tables are a bit too close to each other. If you bring a date, it may be hard to talk to each other. I almost feel like I am sitting with other people. I know others can hear everything I am saying while I talk to the person I am with so it would be difficult to have a private conversation. I will go back, but I don't think I would bring a first date."

"This is my fifth time being there but my first actual review on the restaurant itself. I'd like to preface this by saying that regardless of how many time I've been to a dinning establishment I usually treat each time like it's the first time I've been there. That way I don't go into it having certain expectations. But with this place it's tough, they have GREAT sushi rolls. I have yet to try their sashimi or nigiri but I'm sure it'd be just as good as their rolls. Service was "meh" this time around because some huge group of about 20 people ended up sitting next to us and we felt almost ignored but the sushi totally made up for it. Parking here is about the only thing you would really need to concern yourself with. Eat and enjoy!"

"My boyfriend and I just moved to the Bay area about a month ago. One of the first things on our list of to-do's was to find a great sushi place. It's our favorite food! Mizu is it! We absolutely love this place. Not only does is the sushi fresh and delicious, each roll is a piece of art! They don't use too much rice so it's mostly fish which is awesome. Our favorite rolls are the Rainbow Blossom and the Mizu Jumbo. If you are a sashimi fan I would highly recommend the Super White Tuna. All of the servers and staff are very attentive, and so nice! I would recommend making a reservation because they get busy early and stay busy through the night. We will definitely be frequenting Mizu as long as we live in San Jose!"
