"A family friend was in town from the Midwest and we asked her where she would like to go for dinner. She remembered the Chop House from years ago . Since this is our "go to" place I made a reservation. Our server, Linda came by with menu's and took drink orders. Since this was "Resaurant Week" , she gave us those specials as well. My wife and our friend ordered off the special menu, and I chose from the regular menu . We ordered Escargot appetizers. The Escargots were wonderful. The entree's arrived and everything was cooked to perfection. My wifes scallops were perfect, the steak for our friend was exactly how she requested, and my steak and lobster I would put up against the best surf and turf on the planet. Chop house delivers."

"My wife and I chose The Chop House to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary and it did disappoint. The food, service, and atmosphere were all that were advertised and that we were looking for. The steaks were cooked to perfection and the homemade peach cobbler was excellent. I would hight recommend this wonderful place to anyone."

"This was our second visit (we had a good meal here 4-5 years ago) but we will never come back. The service was friendly and prompt, and the lobster bisque starter was excellent. However, the filet, NY strip, potatoes au gratin, and creamed spinach were all very disappointing. I rarely take the time to write reviews, but the quality of the food (other than the lobster bisque) was so poor, I simply would not come back, and would suggest that others avoid as well.
LG's across the street is pretty good (good food, but service can be hit or miss). If you are willing to make the drive, I would recommend going to the Ruth's Chris in Palm Desert (which is what we will do from now on having been to all 3 a couple of times each)."

"The steaks that we ordered were not hot and not of the quality that we expected from this establishment. The restaurant was also quite cold despite the heat of the desert outside. When I mentioned this to 2 of the personnel seating other customers, they were less than cordial and more or less said live with it. The busboy also stood right behind my wife near a door to the patio for the better part of our dinner. It seems that he could have found a better place to position himself, since it was an intrusion on our privacy .We would not return to his restaurant or recommend it to anyone."

"CHOP HOUSE does it again...wonderfully! Our foursome was seated in the last seat available on the patio; beautiful evening and the restaurant was busy busy busy! Our waiter was at our table explaining features on the revised menu, drinks were served and the evening could not have been better,,, We chose Brined Herb Pork Chop, Sautéed Sole Almandine, Shrimp Scampi and Scottish Salmon...cooked to perfection! We were so surprised to see our friend Sandrine who is the manager at their Kaiser restaurant, obviously doing double-duty and seeing that everything was running well. I can see by the many reviews that they are doing great food right at this location!!

"There were three of us for dinner, two of us had perfect meals, while the third person ordered his pork chop medium well, and it came back pink on one side and in the middle. The pork chop was sent back and returned well done. The side dishes were sad, over-cooked, and looked like they had been sitting under a heat lamp for quite awhile before we received them."

"The Chop House is my favorite steak house. Andrew is one of the best waiters. Once in a while the steak is slightly over cooked but nobodies perfect. We went twice this week....LG'S across the street has a good product except they broil the steaks instead of grilling ..... I prefer the grilling. LG's waiters are second rate....They couldn't get a job at the Chop House not enough experience and they don't speak English."

"I was very disappointed in the food. We frequent the chop house in Palm Desert. Their food is much better. We ordered creamed spinach. What we got was a bowl of cream with some pieces of spinach in it. The bone in filet was half the size it is in Palm Desert. We ordered French fries and got mashed potatoes. I don't think that I will return there again."

"Difficult to understand why this restaurant gets such favored ratings in the PS Desert Sun ratings. Server tried to be attentive but was assigned too many tables to give the level of service desired. This is the second occasion at this restaurant where we have experienced this situation. Food was prepared properly but was only warm rather than hot. Server delivering entrees did not deliver the correct entrees to each diner. We will not return for a third time and will not not recommend this restaurant to others."

"What a terrible experience !!! An expensive resturant lit by awful floresent ceiling fan lights. Had to move because it was so bright,like inside a Walmart. but the final straw that made me leave was how poorly the manager handled the complaint. He basically said nothing can or would be done about it and he finds it hard to belive we would take offense to light bulbs. When you are paying $55 for a steak, your paying for the whole package, ambiance, professional wait staff and managers. When I commented to the manager that this resturant was empty, he could have cared less.I can assure you that I will not go back to a resturant that cares so little about their good customers."

"I have been at the Chop House in Palm Springs a number of times since it opened. The last meal I had there was terrible. However, since all the other times it was very good, I decided to give it a try again. This time it was simply wonderful. We both had filets and the meat was great. Since my father was in the meat business, I know a good steak when I order one and the Chop House didn't disappoint this time. The service was excellent as well."

"Made a same day reservation and were pleased to get right in. We've been here years ago and had excellent food. This experience was not so great. We had a group of 8 and a lot of us ordered the special and other seafood. Consensus at the table was that the dishes lacked flavor. The blackened ahi was not seared but rather breaded? The service was good and the atmosphere is nice being downtown and vibrant. We did not leave with a good feeling to want to return anytime soon though."

"This is our favorite restaurant in the valley. We go there for all our special dinners and have never been disappointed. Many other more expensive resaurants have a single item that is a great dish, but fall down on other portions of a meal. The Chop House consistantly exceeds my expectations. The food and service are always excellent."

"I submitted my input directly to your website yesterday. In a nutshell, We (my wife and I and our guests)were very disappointed at our recent CHPS meal.....good quality food but the amount was sadly lacking. Portions were very small for the dollar cost.
We've dined at Chop House PS and other Kaiser for many years but probably won't be back....you looked plenty busy last Saturday night so losing our future business probably isn't a big deal.

"Very good service and a very nice setting for a quite dinner with my wife. We each ordered a petite Filet, mine med-rare, her's med-well...both were exactly as we hoped. Extremely tender and flavorful; perhaps one of the best steaks I've had. I ordered the spinach salad, which was good. The sides we ordered were the green beans, "twice" baked potato and steamed spinach...all sides were exceptionally good. They had a very good wine list, including a fairly good list of wines by the glass.
We will most certainly dine here during our next visit to the Palm Springs area."
