La Morra, known for its outstanding Northern Italian cuisine, is the perfect location for private parties large and small. The two private and semi-private dining rooms, feature exposed brick walls and hardwood floors that can accommodate parties as large as 75 guests for a sit down meal or cocktail party. We are fully equipped to cater your off premise parties, large and small. "Although the noise level was high (college graduation weekend crowd did not help), the food was excellent and the prix fixe (can't remember the Italian version - sorry!) menu is a terrific deal especially in such a metropolitan area. Wine pairings were high-quality as well. We would definitely go back!"

"We had a family dinner with ages 21-93 for our first visit to La Morra. We parked in front! The hostess offered us a table up a long flight of stairs; when we explained that might be hard for the 76 and 93 year olds, she offered some waiting and reshuffling options. Ultimately we went up (the rest rooms are there anyway). We then had a purposely leisurely dinner. The menu had several delicious combinations and a $35 price fixed four-course dinner. Food was very good, although one of us simply hated the dense grilled lamb leg. Maybe not LaMorra's fault. They didn't offer to exchange or adjust bill or anything. Still, very good food for a reasonable price in a nice atmosphere with attentive service. Almost all of us would go again."

"Another wonderful meal in Josh's hands and Jen's space. Pacing, service and ambiance were just as good as the amazing fare. "mixed feelings about this restaurant. was a first visit and shared plates with friends. impressed by some, others not. food arrived quickly, always a plus. a nice touch is staff rounding the tables with baskets full of bread and serving it upon request. found it a little pricey compared to similar restaurants. initially seated next to a table containing a screaming child. in that small space, not so comfortable. mercifully, that group left shortly after our arrival. wait staff was great; attentive and available. will probably go again and give it another chance."

"I wanted to take my date to a nice place serving good food. La Morra hit the spot. We said we wanted to split the salad and it already came split on separate plates - it was outstanding. I had the beef dish and my date had the hen - the portions were so large that we ended up taking half of it home. All in all, we give it 5 stars."

"We especially liked the little bites at the beginning (fried stuffed olives was a real hit), but everything was excellent. We also appreciated the choice between larger and smaller sizes of the pasta dishes. The smaller sizes were plenty for the women in our party."

"Pound for pound the best Italian restaurant in Boston. Never a disappointment. "We attended a fixed price wine tasting dinner which meant that we 4 shared our table with a couple we did not know. As usual, this added a pleasant conviviality. A brief talk by the owner taught us the origin of the name and how the chef had trained as well as a bit about the 2 wineries featured that night. Representatives from the Italian wineries charmed us with their delightfully accented explanations of the different delicious wines. A few extras embellished a lovely 3 course meal - extra starter bites with an extra light white wine, a house-made limoncello with the chocolatey dessert. The braised rib pasta dish = rich, tender and tasty. Lamb, roasted escarole and polenta perfect . Highly recommend these wine dinners."

The fried sage leaves and olives were a salty oily mess with a thick gloppy tempura batter. ive had these elsewhere and can be quite tasty. the hkouse bread was a soggy cold whitebread. the cirnish gane hens were okay with the gummy polenta. the steak. was uber salty and tough. just overall a waste if 100+ dollars. staff very nice though."

"A beautiful little restaurant in Brookline. We had the fixed-price menu: four courses (salad, pasta/risotto, chicken/fish, choice of any dessert) which at $35 dollars was excellent value! We got a wine to match every course for an extra $15. The wines were good quality. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. An enjoyable evening with the only negative that the salad and pasta seemed rather salty (the rest of the food was delicious). A great place for good food and a romantic ambiance if you want to stay in Brookline!"

"One of the best in the Boston area. The food is inventive, without being pretentious, and flavor pairings really shine. Almost everything on the menu tempted me, but since I had to chose, I had a salad (delicious with kumquats) and risotto with fresh peas. Both were delicious. The pastas come in small and larger sizes so you can order them as appetizers or even a meal. I wish every restaurant cared about the food as La Morra does, and cared less about the buzz."

"The attraction here is the food; it is so accurately Northern Italian - uncompromisingly so. One finds here not Italian-American food but what you would eat in Asti or any of the other cities in the north. The wine list is terrific and appropriately partioned among the key I talian districts. The wine by the glass list is attractive and reasonably priced. The fixed price offering is a very good deal (especially when accompanied by the wine flight). La Morra is a special occasion treat - especially for the food."

"We were excited to try La Morra, but the evening was a disappointment. One of our appetizers was outstanding, but the rest of the food we ordered was not very impressive. Very uneven. We were seated downstairs, and the tables were on top of one another. Our waitress was nice, but didn't seem to really know the menu. She recommended the "vegetarian entree' that was supposed to be a combination of side dishes. In fact, it included overly salty sautéed broccoli and mushrooms, something that seemed like warm humous, and then a delicious fried cauliflower. Our appetizer of polenta with mushroom ragu was fabulous, but there was too little fabulous in our evening. We would not go back and would not send our friends."

"Really liked it here. Great food, great atmosphere, and great service. One thing that bothered me-I ordered a glass of wine without seeing a wine list. The waitress brought me one of the most expensive wines ($13) on the menu. She should have said something or given me a choice or a wine list. Didn't realize the price until I got the bill."

"I was a little taken aback when we first arrived. Our table was not ready, so the hostess suggested that we sit and wait at the bar. We had to climb over people to get to our seats. When we sat down, the bartender asked us what we wanted, and I said, "I'm going to wait until we get to our table." Before I finished my sentence, she stormed off to the hostess stand. I guess she was mad we weren't ordering anything. I was surprised to see there was a nice waiting area at the top of the stairs. I don't understand why we didn't wait up there. But, the food was excellent as always."

"We went during Restaurant Week. We sat on the second floor next to the windows; as expected, it was busy, and it's just a big empty space so it was pretty noisy. Also the tables are close together and small, so I wouldn't say it's great for large groups. I enjoyed my meal, particularly the Cornish hen on the chickpea puree. My boyfriend didn't care for his as much; the fried mozzarella appetizer came out cold, and it was a lightly-breaded large hunk of cheese. The pork osso bucco was nothing special. Overall, I wouldn't mind going back there again, but with the prices it would only be for a special occasion."

"Three of us went for a dinner on Monday in March 25th. It is the second week of the Boston Restaurant Week event. We had been there before and really know how good this restaurant is. It was no surprise, we had another delicious meal and a very pleasant night. The service was extremely good and we enjoyed everything we had. We highly recommend this place to anyone who enjoys high-quality food."

"Went to La Morra with a friend for restaurant week and it was amazing!! They offered 4 courses instead of the usual 3, and they were actually normal sized portions. Everything we got was incredibly delicious. The waitress was also extremely nice and helpful, especially in terms of picking out a bottle of wine (the menu is quite extensive). All in all, it was a wonderful dining experience, I will definitely be going back!"

"Aways good but this time the reservations/service was not as good as in times past. The food was very good to excellent except for an overcooked Monkfish entree. Great and interesting food and wine selections as usual, however we really missed the wine pairing that has been offered in the past.
Very noisy in the upstairs made it difficult to converse in a group. Very good value for the experience!"

"In the past I have always enjoyed La Morra but this time I didn't like the food. The service is excellent and everyone is very nice. We were there for restaurant week and I didn't like any of my 4 courses! The first was roasted root vegetable salad - hard discs of some time of root vegetable that I could hardly cut. The second was the special chestnut pasta - I couldn't taste the chestnuts. The third was Hanger Steak - the steak was great but I prefer skirt steak (not their fault) but I didn't like the very rich potatoes on the side. The dessert was a chocolate cake - very dry and disappointing. Oh well. It was one of my favorite special restaurants."

"La Morra has reliably excellent food. It is always a total treat to eat there, which is reflected by the fact that it is always busy. Service can be very slow when it's busy, though the staff is usually very friendly and warm. The food is worth the wait. Cocktails are excellent, especially served by Bernie."

"We went for Restaurant Week; this was our 3rd time there and we were disappointed. First, there was an $8 charge for parking in a little lot that was free in the past. This seemed a bit tacky. This time there was no tasting wine menu to go with the food which had always been one of the best parts of the dining experience. Some of the food was very good but the monkfish was not to my taste."
