"I WENT THERE BECAUSE OI WAS CELEBRATING MY WEDDING ANNIVERSARY WITH MY WIFE AND IT WAS HER BIRTHDAY. IN FACT I PUT THESE TWO COMMENTS IN MY RESERVATION. NOT ONCE DID ANY WAITER OR HOSTESS SAY ANYTHING. WHEN WE ARRIVED THE HOSTESS PUT US IN A VERY NOISEY TABLE BUT I ASKED IF THERE WAS A QUITE ROOM. SHE BROUGHT US TO THE BACK WHICH WAS QUITE FOR FIVE MINUTES AND THEN GROUP AFTER GROUP CAME IN AND IT WAS NOISEY AGAIN. THE WAITRESS NEVER ASKED US IF WE WANTED ANYTHING ELSE TO DRINK BESIDES WATER DURING THE MEAL. WE HAD TO ASK TO GET OUR WATER GLASS REFILLED. THE WAITRESS NEVER CAME BACK AFTER TAKING THE ORDER TO SEE IF THE SALAD AND THE ENTREES WERE OK. WE WANTED EXTRA SAUCE AND ONLY GOT IT WHEN WE ASKED. In all Very poor service"

"came with family for Mothers day-brunch buffet only-Not by employee prior to date.
Buffet mediocre for restaurant we've enjoyed excellent meals on prior occasions. Their usual salad choices was limited, not very tasty. Tried both Cesar salads, Each bland and basically tasteless. I sampled from 3 bowls, including second attempts, with same result. The prime rib varied from 1 very good to a 2nd that was somewhat tough and dry. BBQ Ribs were dry & red potatoes dried, as if sitting under hot lights 4 long time. Mac -N- Cheese cool, even when they refilled. The omelettes generally good and enjoyed by us. The seafood selection so-so, with the crab ceviche being fresh and tasty. The shrimp were also fresh but crab salad did not taste fresh."

"We each had sandwiches. One chicken with fries and it was good. One French dip with chips and it was good. We thought it was a bit pricey. The decor is was very nice. It is very noisy with all the hard surfaces. The service very slow. We just had expected much more than we got."

"we visited here last year and were so impressed that when on vacation in the valley this year we chose Jackalope to bring friends to dinner. Niot sure what has happened but definatly not the same great experience. Although the property is just as beautiful and the service great the food was way below expectations. In found theri BBQ ribs and brisket only OK. It was tough ! One of our party paid a princely price for prime rib and it was underseasoned and tough as shoe leather. The best part of the meal was the spicey corn which was delicious!"

"Had a great evening celebrating my daughters birthday. The food was very good. The atmosphere was great...nice and quiet. Our waiter was the best. The early bird specials are a nice treat and the prices include a small salad as well. I would order the sauces on the side next time as the spices were a bit strong for someone who prefers things on the mild side."

"Our daughter attended a wedding reception here and was very impressed with the food and atmosphere so we thought we would give Jackalope a try, our first experience was enjoyable. The service and food were very good; to start we shared the Caprisie appetizer, then I also had the Jicama Avocado salad, both were good. For the main course I had the prime rib (a little dry) and my wife had the tamale, which she enjoyed very much. We sat inside but after we completed our dinner we took a walk around the outside, very nice! Next time we dine here we will ask for an outside table next to the waterfalls."

"A busy spot with a spectacular back area that too often is used only for the bar crowd. This is the draw of course the waterfalls and expansive ares of grass and statues. We bought a group of 9 in March all out from out for the experience of the outdoors feel. We had a reservation and were seated near the lunge which had the trio performing so it was loud. The table was so big we had to walk from person to person for conversation. The chairs were high boys which was not enduring to parents in their 80's. Everyone's food was warm, not hot and the 1/2 rack of ribs was on the small size. I felt bad for my cousin footing the bill as he got the end ribs for his meal which were very small. This was a family reunion and we did not complain."

"Me and my Wife have dined at Jackalope on many occasions and have been very pleased. We went there to celebrate my Wife's birthday and our upcoming anniversary. Last visit, my Wife ordered the rib eye steak and it was very good, so we both opted to order it this time. First, our waitress seemed preoccupied, we asked for medium rare, pink inside but no blood. She said that we wanted "medium", I reiterated our request. We both ordered Cesar Salad which was fine, but we had to ask for rolls. When the dinners arrived via food server, we cut into the steaks and indeed found them a little past "medium",and tough no pink. From the point our dinner arrived, our waitress never checked back to ask how it was, or we would have told her."

"great location beautiful venue. But this experience was not the best. Took my whole family for a birthday and had a reservation for six and got put way in a back room that was hot ane closed off when there was lots of other tables in the main area and lots more light and air. Server took forever feel like we were forgotten. when we asked if we can open the patio door to the side patio for some air we were just told sure instead of someone asking would you like to move or is there a problem."

"Our golf group of five brought one of our members there for his 93rd B'day. We requested a quiet table and got a good one. When I told the Maitre de of the occasion she said they would provide a treat gratis. A big brownie with two scoops of ice cream and whipped cream arrived as the finale. Our guy was very appreciative. The waitress knew about it all along and did a fantastic job with a bunch of cranky old men!"

"The Jackalope Ranch is one of our favorites in the Desert area but there were some issues with staff. The young lady at the front was somewhat indifferent and more interested in visiting with friends that servicing customers. Our waiter did a nice job but at this place one expects top notch and we and the surrounding tables did not get it. I had to ask for more water and others sitting near us complained about not getting asked if they wanted more wine. The person handling the bussing of dishes dropped stuff off here tray and broke dishes and food was spread out which we had to look at thru our whole meal. Customers were seated at the table and had to watch person clean up while they were eating."

"I had the Ribeye which was perfectly cooked, but asked for the Peppercorn sauce instead of the butter sauce. Upon getting my meal, my steak had a big tab of butter on top. I asked if I got the Peppercorn sauce and the server said yes, but there was no pepper taste. The server hardly came by our table and it took 15 minutes to get a refill of water. Overall, the food was just OK. I will only go back for lunch."

"We had a horrible experience with the wait staff at Jackalope Ranch -- didn't get much right from drink order, to kid's order (and overheard table next to ours with the same problem) and the language barrier was obviously a problem. The food was only average and didn't justify the expensive price tag. The facility is so large communication between the kitchen, bar, staff is likely to be problematic. The hostess had an elitist air about her which basically set the tone for the rest of the night. "Baby back Ribs and even braised short ribs were dry. Our dining companions had the award winning tamales - they were bland, had very little meat (whether pork or chicken). Overall disappointing. Mixed green salad, wedge salad and corn chowder were good. Too pricey for such poor quality. One of our dining companions requested an extra napkin due to a spill, had to go grab it from an adjacent table."

"Easter Sunday our party of 5 decided we did not want to eat a large expensive brunch so we selected the Jackalope Ranch where we had dined before and been very happy. Despite the actual restaurant website posting their regular menu, upon arrival we were surprised to learn that it was a brunch only affair with a staff unaccustomed to that type of service and supply. Many empty serving pans, missing butter for the crab for an hour (despite asking 4 people) bussing our own table made for a less than satisfactory experience. Even the bill came with a single sum of $199. I had to ask if it included tip and tax. Our server noted that even she did not know it was a brunch until she arrived at work so this was the forethought by managers."

"We have been to this restaurant many times; however, this was our first experience on a holiday. The only thing offered for Brunch was a buffet. We got there at two and the buffet ended at 3 PM. We found slim pickings on the salad bar and dessert bar. It seemed like they had a hard time keeping things filled up, or they were running low on food items. The rest of the food was adequate at best for the situation. I don't think we got our monies worth ($39.99 per person) and would not go back for a holiday brunch again. We will still go there to eat as we know they have good food and the service is good. Buffet brunch does not appear to be their strong point!"

"Would never go back for brunch. Expensive and not a good value. Seafood trays were empty and took way too long to fill. My party of four never did get any sea food. Waits also for prime rib and any good meats. In all, spent $40 + tax and tip for an omelet, bacon, and slice of lamb, with a mediocre green salad. Other food was either unappetizing or, such as sea food and prime rib, non existent. Very disappointing Easter Brunch"

"I bought a preferred guest card when I ate at Hog's Breath Inn. I made a reservation at Jackalope, and when I arrived I indicated I was a preferred guest. We waited more than ten minutes for our table, and then the hostess told me she had texted me to find me. I have a Canadian cell phone which I only use in emergencies. The hostess did not tell me she would text me. We were sitting right in front of her and there was no line-up. We were then seated at a table closest to the washroom and opposite all the noise of the kitchen. We could hardly hear each other. I finally asked to be moved where we could actually hear the pianist and singer. We both had ribs which were bland. Our waitress was excellent. The building is beautiful."

"Have been to Jackalope for lunch and happy hour and have had good experiences. This was the first time for dinner. Had reservation for 7:00. Had to wait in bar for 15 minutes before being lead by a surly hostess to the kitchen area which was noisy. Ask to be seated in an adjoining room. There were a few empty tables but they had not been cleared. Said we were willing to wait for one. Never received a smile from the hostess even though we were polite and smiling. Once seated. Waitress was friendly but service was very slow. They seemed to be very understaffed. It took about 45 minutes to get our food after waiting 15 minutes to give our order. Fortunately we were not in a hurry. Food was good. Waitress apologized for the delay."

"We planned a nice Friday evening dinner with friends. The reservation was for 6:15 p.m. We were finished and out the door by 7:00 p.m. 45 minutes! We felt like we were in a fast food restaurant. We ordered an appetizer to eat while having a cocktail. We barely touched it before our meal was set in front of us. We were going to order wine but there was no time to even loo at the list that was given to us with the menus. We were also never asked if we would like wine. Very pricy for a 45 minute dinner."
