"This restaurant is located in a shopping center next to a subway / pizza parlor, but this place is a gem. It's easy to drive past this nice restaurant and not know that it's there. The food was wonderful. We were celebrating a special occasion and our server was very accommodating to our group. The chefs even had a few special surprises for our group which was great."

"Went there for my 40th birthday. Would go again (will tonight!). The food, although given in smaller portions, is enough to fill you up. As a person who is afraid to try new things, I was pleased with the choices and taste of the food. Bison sliders were cooked to perfection, shrimp & truffle mac & cheese was so good I ate it for two day straight. I love the sofa seating. Only thing missing was my bedroom, because after that meal I was ready for bed!"

"I was in town and were just looking for something really great and affordable which seems hard to do in this area. We had the cheese plate, which was AMAZING. There was a raspberry sauce accompaniment that was a perfect pairing for the manchego. I had the salmon, which I ordered medium but was more well done, then I'd like. Still really great with the whole grain mustard and dill potatoes. My friend had the pork chop with butternut squash raviolis. The raviolis were perfectly cooked and seasoned. There was a little too much sauce on the porkchop but it paired really well together. I was very happy with our dinner."

"Nicely decorated and comfortable restaurant. Good wine list. Moderately priced selections. Menu isn't trying to overwhelm you with selections and ingredients. All of the items ordered were nicely plated and tasty. The kitchen knows what it's doing. Must have Mint for Mojitos..."

"I ordered the scallops, was extremely disappointed. Scallops can on top of what tasted like crumbled cinnamon pie crust. My dining companion order the special which was halibut on black lentils and that was very good. I also ordered a second glass of wine that was delivered after I had finished eating. It was so noisy you could not hear your dining companion speak. I had heard so many good things about the Grateful Palate and I left very disappointed. I will not return."

"We have been wanting to try the Grateful Palate for a while and each time we thought about it, we were not able to get a reservation because we waited too long. Finally we got to go and it was a wonderful meal. We only ordered appetizers and desserts because we went with a group and wanted to share. Everyone really enjoyed everything we ordered -the taste, the presentation and the service. We all agreed to return for another meal."

"My wife and I went to this restaurant for the first time to celebrate our nineteenth wedding anniversary and it did not disappoint. From the moment we walked in everyone from the young lady who sat us to our server to the chef to management made sure that our evening was special. My wife had a special of sesame coated grouper with a shrimp chile sauce and I had the osso bucco and both dishes were great. Our app of the conch sliders were also wonderful. Will definitely return and will recommend to whoever will listen."

"This is a small and expensive restaurant in a strip - not where I would expect to find a restaurant of this caliber. The menu is unusual and quite interesting. the food was excellent and we were ner the open kitchen. The ches appeared to know their stuff. Not the kind of place you would frequent on a reguar basis (too expensive) but definitely great for special occasions."

"Lived in Ft. Lauderdale many years and never ate here, so finally went. What a gem. Had reservations, but hostess asked if we had a preference of where we wanted to sit, thought that was true customer service. She sat us at a romantic table near the "open-concept" kitchen.Drooled at every dish we watched being prepared. Our appetizers, salads & entrees were ALL AMAZING.Great wait staff.Loved the warm atmosphere. Will go back,SOON!"

"Waited 25 minutes for table even with reservation at 8:30 at night. Conch slider appetizer was dry and couldn't taste the conch. Diver Sea Scallops on plantain and chorizo hash was amazing flavor and well balanced but for $30, each scallop should've been a descent size (two were small) and probably should've had one more on the plate (there were 4.) Lemon pound cake was good but very heavy not light like I'd expect pound cake to be. Guava ice cream with it was very good."

"The food was outstanding, however the service was very poor. I am not sure where the problem was stemming from, but it seemed that the kitchen could not keep up with the orders. The wait staff was very opologetic and made our extreme wait time at least pleasant. They did comp our appetizers for the long wait (without us even asking). The bison sliders were delicious as well as the crab ceviche over green plantain tostones. The filet mignon was melt in your mouth. These was not our first time there and despite the slow service it won't be our last."

"First visit and took a guest hoping for the best, and was not disappointed. Cinnamon Duck breast was well flavored but should have ordered it medium rather than medium rare. Raves about the salmon and airline chicken from guests. (Learned "airline" means with one wing still attached.) Server Katie was very well acquainted with the menu and a delight to deal with. She even knew what split pea "nage" was. When there is someone to explain it, the menu really takes on new depths. Happily recommend and am looking forward to repeating. The food is somewhat pricey but you definitely feel that it was worth it. PS They also mix a great Manhatten."

"Went to eat on a Saturday evening, reservations at 9:15; when we arrived a table wasn't immediately available but hostess was able to offer us an immediate seat in a high top. Restaurant was quite full when we arrived and due to this, the kitchen became very backed up. We ordered an appetizer and two entrees (bison sliders, duck and the filet special). The sliders took 40 minutes to come out and when they arrived, the inside was raw. Our server, Renee, was very nice and took care of everything for us; regardless of the wait, he was very hospitable and handled everything very professionally. Drinks were delicious. Entrees were quite good as well, the filet was mildly overcooked, but still edible. Ambiance is very nice."

"We thoroughly enjoyed our Monday evening at The Grateful Palate, which we had seen reviewed on an area tv show. Nothing disappointed us! The wine and cocktail list were quite nice and the somewhat small menu was nicely enhanced by both a meat and a fish daily special. Our waiter (also the sommelier) was not only pleasant but well-trained and knowledgeable We will definitely return."

"Only in Florida do you find a superlative restaurant in a strip mall. But don't be discouraged by the location. The food is excellent, the service warm, and the prices generally moderate. (Though moderate these days isn't what it used to be. Also, note that the GP's Happy Hour is present on Saturday as well as weekdays, and on Wednesday ladies imbibe wine free, though their male companions, alas, do not."

"We we're blown away by the meals! First the chef sent complimentary apps before our actual apps which is always nice. Something not on the menu. The four entrees ordered were the scallops, the burger, the hanger steak and the salmon. The order I just listed them was our order of "winners". My scallops were the best I ever had with the chorizo and plantains. This place is a must but get there early.... It fills up fast! Thank you Grateful Palate for a top-notch meal. Excellent!"

"Located in a strip mall, this restaurant's pretentious menu fails to deliver on may levels. While the dishes are attractively presented, they taste awful. With the exception of a nice Ceasar salad with fresh white anchovies, the remainder of the meal was tasteless. My scallops were doused in a cloying sweet sauce that made them unedible and the little potato chunks that accompanied them seemed to reek of chorizo fat. My husband's steak came already cut up (why??) and tasted nothing like hangar steak. It had not an ounce of fat and must have been a second or third rate cut. The waiter's overly long descriptions in a faux French accent were irritating and the banquettes required waiters to move us up to the table!"

"Not sure if it was just an "off" night or if there have been changes in kitchen personell, but we were very disappointed in our dining experience. Although I have not been here in many months, I have always enjoyed and rated as a superior establishment. This time the food was mediocre at best... all five of us rated our dinners as "average" and there were complaints of overcooked figs, bland osso bucco, undercooked scallops, etc. The one plus for the evening was dessert, which we all agreed were excellent. I do hope this was just an off night and not a sign of decline."

"Whenever we want to guarantee a fabulous dining experience, we go here. It's one of the most consistent restaurants in S. FLorida. Love the conch sliders and their signature dessert, The Indulgence. Always must-haves for the table. We've had the salmon and filet. Both delicious. Make a reservation on the weekends."

"My wife and I were very impressed with the food, wine and service at the Grateful Palate. The wine we ordered turned out not to be available but our enthusiastic waiter (Michael, who is also a sommelier, offered us an even better wine not on the wine list for a very reasonable price. While the menu was varied and interesting, we asked Michael for suggestions and he cheerfully responded. He is clearly a foodie. The Grateful Palate offered a complimentary amuse bouche, which was a nice touch. My wife loved the charred wedge salad and my bison sliders were very juicy and tasty. We both ordered the veal chop special which was perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. Michael also offered us complimentary shoestring fries- delicious."

"We were just staying in town one night before embarking on a cruise so I picked that restaurant based on the Open Table reviews and the fact that it was close to our hotel. I reserved way ahead of time because it was Valentine's day. All the ladies were offered a rose for the occasion(Nice!). The food selection, presentation and taste were outstanding and reasonably priced. The wine list could use a few lower priced wines. My husband found the music a bit too loud but I really enjoyed the selection of songs. The kitchen is open and since there are many menu items that are "seared", I found the dining area a little smokey. Overall a great experience, we would definitely recommend and go back."

"My wife and I had a great Valentines Day dinner at Grateful Palate. Only negative is they were very limited in red wines by the glass which is unusual. Waiter said that they were running low on red wine by the glass which is not a reasonable excuse for a place like this, especially on a holiday."

"We decided to try it out because of great reviews. Our experince was somewhat strange. The waitress brought a different wine than the one we ordered. The sliders had bacon bits despite our special request for no bacon. The wedge salad never made it to the table. The fish was O.k but the sides were half frozen. The most bizarre thing was the Tandori veal with a mix of cummin, turmeric and peanut butter. It was inedible and the peanut sauce was not disclosed on the menu. We returned the plate uneaten because of its weird taste and to our surprise we were charged full fee for it. Upon complaining to the restaurant manager his response was "everyone is entitled to their opinion"."
