"My wife and I have been here several times and always had a fantastic experience. The food has always been unique and delicious. The prices may seem high at initial glance but the quality of food is high and the portions are generous. Another thing worth noting is the service. The staff have significant knowledge of the menu, specials, and recommendations. They are attentive to your needs, fun, and polite and we've given this feedback to the manager on shift that night as well. This visit was for a family group dinner with 7, and they were able to seat us by window with large view and space per request. The host/hostesses are also polite and predict wait times accurately when needed."

"Food and Service were perfection, staff very friendly and informed. From the moment you walk in, there is an understated chic-ness without being pretentious. Even though we came early, they kindly informed us the table was just being cleared and we could sit immediately if we wanted.. We started with the Maytag Blue potato chips and some Truffle Fries delish! Entrees were generous in proportions and our group of 8 was served very timely along with cocktails (try the Dark and Stormy) and the beer selection very good. Our waiter made it all look effortless. We were celebrating a birthday in our group and they took the time to put a candle in the Chocolate cake ( another must try!) I will look forward to going back again!"

"The service was great. Wait staff very friendly and informative. We started out with a couple of appetizers. We had the bleu chips and the fondue with jerk chicken, grapes, green apples and artisan bread. FANTASTIC on both counts!! Three of us had the rotisserie chicken, which was so moist and delicious. The firewood flavor is outstanding. Three had steaks, all very pleased with their meals. One had shrimp skewers and was delighted with the different flavors on the plate. The last person had the seared scallops and was overwhelmed with how good it was.
My side caesar salad was great. They grilled the romaine. Awesome flavor. I will definitely come back and try something different every time."

"We had reservations, but felt rushed throughout. Food was good, ample portions. So so value. Dinner for 2, no alcohol, we spent $100 with tip. For that I didn't expect to be wedged next to a noisy family with kids crawling under the table. Busy, noisy. Our table looked directly out at the grungy underside of the belt line overpass. Hmm, NOT ambience. Men's room poorly stocked, cluttered with garment bags from wedding (?) party."

"I seem to have bad luck with reservations lately. I made the Mother's day reservation over a week in advance, yet get stuck at the table they clearly had crammed in to fit more people for the special occasion. Right between the doorway and the buffet, so we had people squeezing by us constantly. The food and service were both very good, but the table situation really took away from the overall experience. Would recommend for times other than a holiday."

"Even for early dinner the restaurant was crowded but we had a reservation so were seated right away. Interesting drink menu, really liked their version of Old Fashioned. Had the chips as an appetizer and they were very good. Rather large portion filled us up so we opted to split a salad and Thai pizza for the entree. The Thai pizza was different, but good and not too spicy. Split the chocolate cake and it was good. Will go again for the BBQ."

"The menu had a little of everything but was not overwhelming. Food came out at the right pace and temperature was perfect. I was worried when we pulled up and saw it was part of a "mall type" place...but it was very good. A little noisy and cramped, but it was prom night."

"Dinner was great. We had drink, dinner then went to a meeting. Came back to Bonfyre after our meeting to debrief - thought we'd have a drink. We sat at a high top table in the bar area discussing our meeting and not one server or bartender asked if we wanted or needed anything. I thought that to be very strange. After we were done talking we just left. Thanks for letting us use the table I guess."

The drink specials were well made and refined- the Irish Margarita and the Hennessy new fashioned were superb. Atmosphere was modern, and it was very busy in the early evening, though this did not impact our service. The beer and wine list was good. We will most certainly be back."

"My husband and I dined at Bonfyre on a Friday night and it had a great energetic vibe. My husband had the herb rotisserie chicken with mashed potatoes and vegetables. He said the chicken and vegetables were fantastic, however the mashed potatoes were underseasoned and "nothing special". I had the balsamic salmon with saffron ricotta. The salmon was cooked to perfection, however was again underseasoned. Overall, the food was pretty good but had some room for improvement. Our service was also pretty good. It took a bit for us to get our first round of drinks, but otherwise she was attentive. Overall, a good experience and the atmosphere is fantastic."

"This is one of my favorite restaurants in the Madison area. The food is always good and management tries to keep patrons interested by changing up the menu every now and then. This time I had the ahi tuna burger, which is outstanding, and the green beans as a side. Yummy! My husband had the new scallop dish, which he thoroughly enjoyed. He also had the squash soup as a starter. That's been on the menu since day one and is one of the best squash soups I've ever had. It consistently has just the right amount of spice for a kick and some tart granny smith apple chunks. Delish! Service here is always good and this time was no different. Our server was a male who was very friendly and attentive. No doubt, we will be back again soon."

"I LOVE Bonfyre!! I've had nothing but great experiances there! The managers are wonderful and kind, and the Servers are attentive and friendly. The food there is always delicious, enspecially the steaks, which are almost always cooked to perfection. Its a beautiful resturant and well kept.

"My wife and I have eaten here many times. If you happen to be seated near the bar it can be a bit noisey, the overall atmosphere is still great. The food is excellent, probably the best woodfired grilled in Madison. The woodfire adds a great taste to the meat. Overall, a great place to eat, it is our favorite!"

"Greatness is achieved by paying attention to detail. My family made a reservation for Easter Day just because we wanted to eat there. We didn't know we were signing up for a special brunch and that we wouldn't be able to order off of the menu. This"detail" was left out. I am happy to pay the $27 cost but at that price, it should have been perfect. Our prime rib was rare at best and the rest of the food available was very bland and missing any spice. The smoked salmon was very dry and the mahi mahi was rubbery. The overall appearance of the decor and the atmosphere are amazing although the smell of smoke throughout the restaurant was overwhelming at times."

"Our dinner at Bonfyre was just great and hit the spot. It happened to be a quiet time but we have been previously when it is bustling and noisy. Service was fine, not many in Madison have great service. Only drawback was the lingering smell of smoke from the cooking fire in our clothes after dinner."
