"I came here for brunch on Mother's Day. I had my kids with me, ages 11 and 1. We were sat in a back corner downstairs with tons of other kids! I thought that was really cool to have the majority of the kids in the same section because kids will cry, scream, maybe even throw food and those actions bother other diners. Being grouped together with so many others was an excellent idea. The service was excellent, it was crowded, but my bottomless mimosa was never bottomless and I tried most of the flavors. Watermelon was the best, it was fresh and not bottled syrup flavor. Food came out fast, as did our check, but my only complaint was too many dishes had eggs in them! Some would've been great without eggs. Hash & skirt steak were best!"

"Terrific twist on southwestern food. Compounding flavors just burst in your mouth. My party of 3 enjoyed great service and outstanding margaritas. I had the skirt steak and was done medium rare exactly to my liking. The beef brisket toquitos were also an excellent choice. We will be back!"

"Me and my husband went to Border Grill for our one year wedding anniversary and it was great. We'd actually married at the Mandalay Bay the year before and held our reception at the Border Grill. The food at our wedding was amazing, everyone loved it, and the food this time was just as great. We're planning to come back to Border Grill every year for our anniversary for as long as its open and probably many more times in between that."

"Love the concept of unlimited small plates for brunch. We ate our hearts out. More food was brought before we even asked so there was no need to feel intimidated by ordering too much. The unlimited minmosa deal was also amazing. We got new drinks before our last was finished. Every single dish was delicious - our favories were steak and eggs, breakfast fries and sweet potato pancakes. We were eat there ever day if possible. Good thing it is not since we would weigh a hundred pounds. Must stop while in town."

"I saw that the owners were featured on the food network and I wanted to try some of there famous cooking. The restaurant is very nice but I wasn't too happy with the food. I liked the fresh tortilla chips. The salsa was bland and flavorless. There was no spice or point to it. I ordered the kobe beef appetizer and another disappointment. It was a good idea but it was way too tiny to enjoy. The entree I ordered was the yucatan carnitas also a sad dish. The carnitas were dry and the only item I enjoyed were the fried plantains. I regret ever going there. Never again will I fall for the food network hype."

"I was so looking forward to a great Mexican meal in Las Vegas and choose to go to Border Grill. What a disappointment. Started with the tortilla soup which basically was a tomato soup, and a poor one at that) with some tortilla strips on it. It did not have the great Mexican chile flavours in it. I also had the skirt steak and I was thinking it would be like an Arrachera. Not even close. The beef had no flavour and was extremely tough. Even the corn tortillas had a strange taste to them and were very elastic. Under the name of the restaurant it says "Real Mexican Food". Real Mexican food is some of the best in the world, but at Border Grill the flavours were just not there."

"For those of you looking to have a taste of Southwest with a flair of Nuevo continental blend, this restaurant offers a good blend of flavors to your taste! If you are just looking for a typical Mexican restaurant, this is not the place for you. The food is smart and creative and the best is the Brunch menu where you can choose a wide variety of their flavors with 1 set price. Try their Pork Belly Waffle!
I have been there for dinner as well and with their lively scene next to the Mandalay Pool, good drinks and good food, I will be back for more good experience!"

"My husband & I dined here last Friday. I'm vegetarian and my hubby isn't. I got the Veggie Enchiladas (they're really stacked tortillas) and a side of black beans and my hubby had the carnitas (the "old" way) and a side of ranchero beans. We both very much enjoyed our meals. Hubby loved that his tortillas were house-made on the premises! We also had guacamole and a flan for dessert, Needless to say we both needed a stomach pump by the time we were done. Just kidding, but we were stuffed to say the least. We ate outside, on a balcony overlooking the wave pool at Mandalay Bay. Very nice ambiance. The servers were attentive and pleasant. We would go there again, when we come to Vegas."

"This was our 4th time going to the Border Grill Brunch. This is definitely the best weekend brunch on the strip. We most recently took some family visiting from out of town and they loved it. There are so many restaurants in Las Vegas, but we will continue to go to the Border Grill on the weekends for their tapas brunch. 22 items on the menu+ unlimited mimosas = one awesome meal."

"I've only ever eaten at Border Grill Las Vegas for their weekend brunch. At the time of this review they have just released new brunch menu items, many of which are EXCELLENT! We loved the Green Egg and Ham (which is one egg served over diced ham, green peas, and black beans). The brisket omelette is also very good. The Lobster Pancake was interesting, but it was difficult to taste the lobster (it's one egg with lobster meat on it, served over a pancake with maple syrup).
New items aside, the best thing on the brunch menu is still the Machaca Chilequiles. With no exaggeration, it is easily one of the most amazingly delicious dishes I've ever had in my life. It makes me so happy. The Steak and Egg is also top notch."

"The Border Grill is a lively restaurant very close to the Mandalay Bay convention center. Due to the location it's ideal for business lunch meetings. You can sit inside and outside, where outside can be 'really' outside or in a kind of roofed terrace. The latter is extremely noisy when filled with people, a no go for business conversations because it's simply hard to hear each other.
The food is average...my impression is that a lot of the sides on your plate or prepped way upfront.
Overall a nice location with an average food quality...good for informal meetings but just don't sit in the patio for a business conversation when crowded because it sounds like a hen house."

"1st brunch back in march 2012 wasn't very stellar with the dishes provided at the $29.99 price tag. Now it being April 2013, $34.99 improvised menu with a bit more newer dishes and tuning of other dishes turned me to enjoy this brunch a lot more.
There are still a few items still need to be tweaked. (Lobster pancakes w/ fried leeks[absent lobster bits,fried leeks overpower everything], The pbj w/ jalapeno and fried egg [biscuit doughy, not so creamy p.butter, bland grapejelly jam] ,Sweet potato pancakes[drenched in maple syrup to the point all you can taste is maple, little hints of it remotely tasting as a sweet potato] To share a few.
Tapas/Small plate servings allow you to enjoy atleast 4-5 dishes or more (depends on your size..)."

"we have been to this resturant many times in the past but this was a great disappointment.the waiter forgot our order and when it finally arrived min dinner was luke warm and the taquitos wer soggy for having sat so long while they prepared my wifes meal.The waiter was not attentive anor particularly hrlpful of freindly.Sadly we will nevereat ther again and would not reccommend this resturant again."

"We had a wonderful time at Border Grill. Their buffet concept is progressive in that you pay once and order as much as you want off the menu of their small plates. The quality of the food was great! We enjoyed trying new stuff like the PBJ with Bacon and Jalapeno as well as traditional brunch favorites.
What made our experience at the Border Grill exemplary was the outstanding service we got by our wait staff Crystal and Alex Lopez. Crystal was fun with a great sense of humor. She steered in the right direction in terms of what to order each round. Her sense of timing was spot on. We never had a moment where there was no food on our table and our glasses empty."

"This was our first visit for brunch and we were not disappointed. The bottomless fruit flavored mimosas were very good, but the food was better. We received fresh fruit and guava mimosas which were delicious. I ordered the short rib has (outstanding) and Peruvian shrimp and grits (good) on the first round. On the 2nd it was the bacon PBJ (good) and shared an Yucatan eggs Benedict (very good). I finished this meal off with a thimble full of rice pudding (very good, but I wanted more)."

"Wife had the Kobe Tacos, and I had the Pork - "Tecate Carnitas"
I had talked her into getting the tacos as we had both not kobe beef before.
Both dishes were good, and the beef was well cooked (a bit sweet for my taste as I would prefer a little more spice)
We both actually ending up liking the Carnitas better because it was cooked perfectly and tasted very good.

It is vegas, so of course margaritas were expensive a limited on the Tequilla - but thats to be expected.
Over all, I recommend it over the other MB restaurants and priced much better than the some of the other places.

"Border Grill has ruined me, because it has set the quesadilla bar so high. When my colleagues and I went here for dinner, I honestly wasn't that hungry. But you wouldn't know that from watching me wolf down the carne asada quesadilla (I passed on the carmelized onions) they put in front of me. Quite possibly the best quesadilla I've ever had. At $19, it was also the most expensive quesadilla I ever had, but I would be more than happy to hand over the cash again if I'm back in Mandalay Bay."

"For the price and also being in America I would imagine more than one piece of fish in each taco would have been appropriate.
It tasted wonderful but for the price I expected more. I was also not very happy that I specifically asked the server to not rush my meal. Needless to say I had hardly taken a bite from my chips and guacamole, which was good, and the food runner brought my main meal. She offered to take it back to the kitchen and put in under the heat lamp which she told me would keep it fresh for at least half an hour. Her and my idea of fresh is very different. Enjoyed myself all the same but think I will stick to the local Mexican restaurants at a quarter of the price and four times as much food."

"While a long-time admirer of the super-chefs, their restaurant in Las Vegas did not live up to our expectations. Seated promptly with our early reservation, our waitress was polite but seemed to want to hurry us along. We were only part-way through our appetizers when the entrees appeared. Ceviche duo was tasty; queso fundido we weren't sure about. Parts of each entree were good, however my tecate carnitas were a totally different dish than described on the menu. I would not have ordered them as they came to me. Also somewhat disappointing was the different margaritas we all tried; in that they were all very light on the tequila. All in all we were less than amazed and probably will not choose to return on any return trips to Vegas."

"This is another celebrity chief helmed Las Vegas property (question: where there any of these places before Top Chief?). Very nice option for the souther end of the Strip, comfortable and casual place for good Mexican food. We went during brunch, the menu looked impressive but we ordered off the regular menu. Good selection of tacos, guacamole of the more pureed type (not too many chunks). Busy as would be expected for a casino restaurant; would strongly recommend making a reservation even if by a couple hours lead time; does help in getting past a line of walk-ups."

"The chicken mole was the best chicken dish I've ever had, period. Seriously, if you're going for dinner, don't waste your time with anything else; it's that good. Yes, others at our table ordered different things that were interesting and tasty, but none of it held a candle to the chicken mole. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars for the Overall rating is because we went back for lunch the next day and the chicken mole wasn't on the lunch menu."

"Best TexMex food so far in Las Vegas and we have tried dozens. Also artfully arrange on the plate and reasonable prices for high end. We dined between lunch and dinner hours so restaurant was nearly empty but it took over an hour for our food to arrive.
We were seated on the upper deck terrace with a fair view but would have preferred the lower patio which we were told would not open until much latter. I assume the staff were too lazy to run between the upper level and lower deck despite the negative impact on guests who would have enjoyed the much nicer ambience of the lower level patio."

"Las Vegas has lots going for it, food-wise, but a really great brunch is hard to find. The Border Grill does a great brunch on weekends that is worth the trip to Mandalay Bay. Choose from a list of small plates to try over a dozen different dishes (all you care to taste). So, next time you're in Vegas, skip room service and head to the Border Grill."

"TO PRICEY! I am a Las Vegas local and decided to treat a friend out for a birthday brunch. I googled the best places in Las Vegas for brunch and found the Border Grill as one of the top places for $25.00 per person. I should have done my homework as the price has gone up to $35 and even a cup of coffee to go with it was an additional $8.00 per person. A little to pricey for two ladies that are not big eaters. Personally, I would not return, or recommend this restaurant, unless the bill was $25 per person and included a drink. The food was excellent, except for the biscuits, they were like rocks. The gravy on top is excellent, and so are the churro tots!"

"Our server was amazing! We dined with a picky eater and her suggestions and the kitchens willingness to adjust the menu made this the best dining experience of the year.
