Daugherty's American Kitchen & Drink
Brad Daugherty grew up in Black Mountain, North Carolina, just minutes from Asheville. After an All-American career playing basketball at The University of North Carolina, he was the first overall draft pick in the 1986 NBA draft by the Cleveland Cavaliers. He went on to a successful 8 year NBA career followed by becoming a Nascar Sprint Cup Series car owner of the #47 car. He commentates Nascar and NBA basketball on ESPN and admittedly loves to eat!
Brad's affinity for his home of Western North Carolina and the Asheville community made South Asheville a logical place for his own restaurant. He sought to create flavorful and well thought out food in a relaxed upscale atmosphere.
When it comes to food, enjoy regional and local cuisine borne from Brad's upbringing in Western North Carolina, fused with his experiences dining around the nation as a professional basketball player, Nascar team owner and sports commentator.
"After difficulty finding a suitable reservation time at my other favorite Asheville restaurants, I chose Daugherty's hoping it would do well for my friends & I for our girls weekend. Upon arriving, we were definitely in a "sports bar" atmosphere, but the food did not disappoint and was no where near normal sports bar fare. The food improved the atmosphere actually. I also enjoyed the drink selection. All my friends enjoyed their meals and thanked me for a great find. Great for a casual night out!"

"our first visit was at lunch. Enjoyed the meal and the price was reasonable. Our second visit was for dinner with another couple. the food was alright but there are other places in the area which offer more food at a more reasonable price"
"Nice welcome. Seated promptly at reservation time. Server was helpful with wine and menu selections. Attentive all evening without being overbearing. We eat lightly and were able to order dishes to satisfy without having to ask for a doggy bag. I particularly enjoyed the house salad which was very fresh with a delicious dressing. The restaurant was full with several tables having many children it being the day after Thanksgiving. Ambience was great and noise level agreeable Best restaurant night out we have had in a long time. The price was right"
