Cafe Thirty-A
Café Thirty-A is a casual fine-dining restaurant featuring grilled and fire roasted seafood, meats and poultry, wood-oven pizza, vegetarian fare and hedonistic, "architectural" desserts. The menu changes daily according to availability of ingredients. Fine wines and cocktails--including a creative menu of the best martinis in the area--complement the meal.
The ambiance is open, casual, "islandy," yet sophisticated, with vaulted ceilings, upside-down market umbrellas, hand painted chairs, intimate lighting and half-wall dividers creating the atmosphere. Patrons often state, "It just makes you feel good to walk in here!" It's a fun, happening place to dine - with impeccable, yet unpretentious, service.
Recent and ongoing awards are: Wine Spectator Award of Excellence, Florida Trend Golden Spoon Award, North American Restaurant Association Five-Star Award of Excellence, NW Florida Daily News “Restaurant of the Year.”

"We went for the early bird special which is definitely earlier than we usually eat but certainly worth the 2 for 1 entrees. Our waiter was excellent, I wish I knew his name to recommend! Dad and I ordered the grouper and it was fabulous, mom liked her tilefish and my husband devoured the snapper. All of our drinks and salads (wedge and arugula) were great too. All in all an excellent meal and experience. Not used to having to pay for valet (and no self parking was left) but I suppose that's the price you pay for 2 for 1 entrees."

"We travel to seaside/watercolor every year and this place is now among our favorites. They have great fresh seafood, excellent wine list for wine snobs and beginners, great drink list and desserts! They have a buy one get one free from 5-6 as well for entrees. It is a must during our beach trip."

"Amazing food with exceptional service! The mussels were a great starter to share especially when accompanied with the warm bread and oil for dipping. The Snapper was perfect and the pizza was larger and tastier than expected. Not an every weekend kind of place for the cost conscious unless you can take advantage of the early bird specials...that will be this guy! Absolutely worth it if you can't though, thanks for a fabulous option on 30A!"

"Our food was very good and the atmosphere was pleasant. We went for our anniversary dinner. Our server was comparable to a zombie. He did not smile nor was he engaging. We had to ask him for twice for items he had forgotten from our table. This is an expensive restaurant and we expected much more. I spoke with the manager who did nothing more than grimace and then smile. We will never go back."

"Service is rated low, not because of our waiter who was great, but because of the outrageously rude, catty, immature, unprofessional group of 12 year old children that hosted the front desk. Tart #1 refused to give us a better table than one directly in the doorway of the dining room even though the reservation was made more than 30 days prior, she went back to the front desk, giggled and pointed at us with the other tarts. If you go, I would suggest you speak directly with the manager before arriving about not sitting in the busy entrance way to the dining room. It's amazing, everything else about this restaurant is nearly perfect, but then they rely on 4 girls who aren't even qualified to work at McDonald's to host."

"i've been to 30a many times over the years, and it's always been one of my favorite restaurants both for the food and the service. after this last visit, i can say that it will be a while, the server never even introduced himself, and when told that the ladies were cold at the table when we arrived scoffed as if they didn't have a right to be chilly. also, i spent many years in the service industry, but when you reach across my plate to clear out other's dishes, all the while making visibly no effort to reduce the noise of you stacking plates, that will change my experience in a heartbeat.
all and all, a very disappointing experience at a very nice restaurant. I'll definitely find another place in seaside to spend my money."

"Went to Cafe Thirty-A for the first time tonight and am already trying to plan our next visit. Everything we had was absolutely delicious. The oven-roasted grouper was AMAZING! Beet salad - wonderful! Banana beignets - heavenly! All for a very reasonable price - I honestly would have expected a dinner of this caliber to cost at least 1 1/2 times what it did. I cannot wait to go back!!!"

"We vacation in this area every year and never miss going to Cafe 30A. It is one of the premier spots in the area. "we love cafe 30-a, it's in our neighborhood and we love going there. this time we tried a couple of cocktails off their martini menu - i had the strawberry basil, it was delicious and not sweet at all - the fresh basil added a nice element - my husband had the cucumber martini and said it was different but really great - cafe 30a has several dining areas - an enclosed porch, which is very nice - this is where we were on may 4th - our waiter was excellent, she as attentive but unobtrusive, something we just love and our meal was outstanding! my husband said the lobster and mac & cheese with crawfish was sublime and he is very very picky - my cobia was to perfection and as the cobia season is rather short, i was happy to get it we love it!"

"We we in Seaside for our third annual visit and couldn't believe we hadn't tried Cafe30A before. The food was wonderful and service was outstanding. The only downside was deciding between the entrees. We planned to just have a light dinner of small plates - but had to order the pan seared diver scallops and polenta for my husband, and I had the delicious wood roasted grouper. Everything was perfectly prepared with a fascinating blend of complementary flavors. Can't wait for next year."

"Food and service was good. Our table for two was too close to a table for 4 beside us. There were many empty tables. We heard most of their conversation. The server did not allow for any substitues which was surprising (restaurant policy). My fillet was not cooked to order requiring it to be sent back for additional cooking."

"Keeps getting better. I've been coming to Cafe 30A for many years. The food and service is amazingly consistent. My recent Experience was even better. The Hawaiian butterfish and seared tuna were phenomenal . Cheesecake , banana beignets were outrageous. Lastly, great choice of wines at a very reasonable prices."

"I loved this place! The crab cake appetizer was loaded with lump crab and my husband loved his charcuterie plate. Scallops w/Israelie couscous also delicious as was husbands's roasted Snapper. We will be back to try other menu items as fortunately we live only 20 minutes away. Great Martini menu is a plus also!!!"

"We stayed a week in nearby Seaside and ate locally during the week. We decided to go a bit upscale one night and booked at Cafe 30-A. Good choice! It is an attractive, comfortable restaurant with a good vibe. More upscale than the beachy restaurants we had been frequenting but not stuffy by any means. We had a nice, relaxing evening and the touch of service was just about right. The wine list is long and a bit eclectic with many labels of which I was unfamiliar. A good thing and not overpriced. We selected a Brunello - the only one on the list. A beautiful wine. All in all, the evening was just what we had hoped. And only 2 miles from our cottage."

"We ALWAYS enjoy Cafe Thirty-A when visiting that area of the Gulf Coast! We had three vegetarians with us and their veggie "platters" were almost too big! The crab cakes are among the very best we have ever had anywhere! We were celebrating a birthday and a beautifully decorated plate of beignets complete with candle and chocolate was delivered. We'll definitely be back just as soon as possible!"

"Outstanding restaurant. We come to 30a every year from Iowa and spend 7-10 days and at least one of those nights my wife pleads to go here. Our waiter was excellent, and the food was awesome. I think the only oddity to it is they have what I would call mandatory parking. I know it sounds maybe cheap, but you spend roughly $15/couple and now pay $10 valet, and the parking lot is close and convenient. That is the only negative in my eyes."

"We had a wonderful family dinner at cafe 30a. Since we were on vacation we had the kids along (14 and 7). Food was simply fantastic! Spinach salad with fried oyster. Crab cake, diver scallops, snapper and pizzas for kids. Sublime. The service was friendly and helpful with selecting wine and our meal. Can't wait for our next trip to the panhandle so we can dine there again!"
