The Cosentino’s firmly believe in creating an exceptional fine dining experience through utilization of the finest ingredients available. The term ‘modern American’ is meant to reflect freedom from ethnic constraints. The restaurant menu features ingredients and techniques from many different cultures. Chef Tony uses the finest cheeses available such as Maytag blue cheese, Tillamook cheddar and Reggiano. No hydrogenated oils or margarine are used on the premise, only extra virgin olive oil and real butter. Local seasonal and organic produce is utilized whenever available. The menu is frequently updated to showcase the best produce and seafood the season has to offer. This also serves to keep things fresh while allowing the chef room for creative freedom. The wine list is continuously added to, in order to complement the menu to the fullest. Josephine’s also features a full bar with excellent cocktails, martinis and an extensive beer list.
"We love eating at Josephine's. The old house is charming if a little tired but the food is very good as is the service. They mark Gluten Free items on the menu and this helps for those with Celiac."

"my wife enjoys steak well done. Her's was cooked as she likes it and was tender and flavorful... one of the best steaks she's had. She sub'd in risotto. I had the sea bass special crusted in nuts over rice covered with a very fresh slaw &spicy salsa/sauce. Lucky the sauce was on the side, the fish, slaw and rice was excellent. Didn't notice the spicy stuff on the specials board or I wouldn't have ordered it. Glad I did. Shared an amazing spinach salad with a garlicky sweet dressing and cranberries. For dessert we shared a chocolate bread pudding bananas foster. It was ok... the addition of the chocolate was a bit much. We felt it would have been fabulous without the chocolate... and it wasn't fired tableside for the show."

"On my travels to Flagstaff, I found my dining experience at Josephine's to be quite enjoyable. This restaurant is located in a historic Flagstaff home that has been creatively restored into a fine dining establishment in close proximity to downtown. I found the food, service, and wine list to my liking. Noise was not a problem. This was my first visit to Josephine's, but I plan to return again the next time I travel to Flagstaff."

"We went for Sunday brunch after a 2 hour drive from Scottsdale and enjoyed everything we ate off the hard-to-choose-from menu. The zeppoles are a must splurge. We plan to go back and try lunch next visit!"

"Fine place for a good meal. Pleasant atmosphere, attentive service and our server even told us the price of the special of the day. The tables, however, are a bit too close for comfort. Overall, a restaurant I would certainly go to again if I happened to be in Flagstaff."

"This restaurant is in an older house and has a lot of charm with small rooms to enjoy a more private experience. The food was phenomenal for brunch with a large variety of fresh ingredients. We especially liked the many salads and vegetables and delicious bread pudding."

"The best thing here was the calamari which was breaded using cornmeal which gives it a new and interesting taste. I liked it so much that I'm going to recreate it at home. Nice neighborhood restaurant with a little history."

"Our reservation was for the very tail end of Easter Brunch. When we arrived they were already breaking down the buffet and tables. Notwithstanding the late hour it was obvious Josephine's is a good place to eat. We'll give them another chance."

"food wasnt anything spectacular, the brie was the best thing we had, the josephines steamer coffee was excellent, had a very inexperienced waitress that pretty much ruined the whole night, it was our first time there celebrating my husbands bday, but mike the manager was great, and so professional, and so were the owners, they tried to correct the situation, i would have rather had one of them serve us, but we might go back and give lunch a try and sit outside."

"Although the food was somewhat pricy it was modern, gourmet, and very delicious. We were not impressed with the service for how nice of a place it was. We had a reservation a week in advance, and when we came in we stood for about ten minutes before anybody even said anything to us. Then when our table was ready we were seated but waited another five minutes before our server showed up. The hostess was eating food at the bar between tasks, and our server didn't seem to care about making our night enjoyable. It could have had something to do with us being younger (22), but we ordered an appetizer and two entrees each with the suggested wine pairing, so you'd think they'd make an effort to earn their tips."

"We really enjoyed this place. Great atmosphere in an old house, attentive, friendly service and very good food. The owner was on scene and was clearly interested in seeing that you were enjoying yourselves. I had not been to Flagstaff in many years and was glad to see that good food is to be had, along with a really pleasant dining experience."

"Staff did not reserve the special window table that I requested in my Open Table reservation. (perhaps it was already booked.) They did not return my phone call requesting that table, either. Food was good (soup was too salty) and great ambiance and service."

"Loved it! One of the best dining experiences my husband and I have had. Food, wine pairings, ambiance, service: all outstanding! I would definitely go to Josephine's again if I am ever in Flagstaff. I recommended the restaurant to my aunt and uncle who winter in AZ and are foodies. I hope they try it."

"We had a wonderful evening at Josephine's! We were trying to beat the Valentines Day crowd by going the night before and it was perfect. The dinning room was full but even in the small space it seemed cozy and the noise was not a problem. If you go, you have to get the Baked Brie Baklava, featured as a starter and/or dessert. Our meals were perfectly cooked and well portioned. The wine list is very large but features some great selections. We love eating here for special occasions or just a spur-of-the-moment date night."

"A true gem, unexpected in Flagstaff. The food was fresh and delicious, and the wait staff were knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. The open fireplace was warm and inviting, and the room never got stuffy or overheated. I will remember that dinner for a long while."

"Josephine's is a bit out of the way for the Flagstaff downtown tourist scene. It is obvious that their reputation comes from word of mouth. The food was good with generous, but not too large portions. We had the seared salmon and the beef "pot pie"-both well prepared & very flavorful. We ordered the house pie for dessert and this is when things fell a bit. The portion was very small-compared to their dinner portions. No sharing on this one. The only criticism I really have is that their front door opens right next to the kitchen. If there is a crowd waiting you have a lot of people potentially "Breathing" on the food as it is being set out for the servers to bring to the table."
