". Tucked inside the Miyako Hybrid Hotel in Torrance, Gonpachi has come a longway. Love their lunch menu, healthy choices like grilled salmon teriyaki, chicken teriyaki, fresh sashimi's, excellent salad bar, and yummy desserts like the crime brûlée and tempura ice cream roll.

"We love this restaurant! The ambiance is lovely, the food is heavenly, and the service is always terrific! We were celebrating a good friend's birthday -- her first time there--- and she was as enchanted as we always are when we dine @ Gonpachi. Kelly was our super talented wait person. "If you want a really nice lunch in the Torrance area I highly recommend this Gonpachi. Very modernly decorated and the food is delicious. I always end up getting the same thing though - the noodles with Tendon (tempura bowl). Nearly all the lunches come with a very nice all-you-can-eat salad and miso soup. The atmosphere is very relaxing."

"Food was good but pricey for dinner. Service was HORRIBLE! Waited a long time to put in order and even longer to get food. Over 45 minutes before we got our food after ordering. Waiter never acknowledged or even explained why service was so slow. I was looking forward to dining here after hearing favorable reviews from friends who have gone there for lunch. In fact I even bought a gift certificate for a friend for Xmas based on my friends recommendations. I am not sure after my experience tonite if I will go back again. The food can be great but poor service will be what I remember more!"

"Great restaurant hidden in the hotel lobby. The furniture could use a bit of upgrading--the upholstering was coming apart (I mean shredded) on the full length of the bench but was comfortable--needed a pillow to sit on though and I am an average height person... so that was weird! I noticed all other ladies sitting on the same bench were sitting on a pillow! The food was great and unusual bur the people who came 30 minutes after us and ordered the same thing we did got their food 15 minutes before we did... that was odd.. so service could improve!"
