"My experience was great at the Melting Pot in Portland. Our server gave great suggestions and kept checking to see if all was good with all 4 at the table. The atmosphere was fun and I think the manager stopped by to say hi and see if we were enjoying ourselves-we said yes.

I would eat there again."

"Visited the Melting Pot after several recommendations from friends and I do not regret the decision. Great service, great atmosphere. Great place to go with friends and family to share a special occasion or just to talk and have fun over dinner. I would definitely go back."

"This was our first time at the Melting Pot. The entire dining experience was extremely unique. Every aspect of our dining experience was excellent. This wonderful experience was appropriate for a special occasion. To enjoy the full benefits you must be prepared to spend at least 2 hours and realize that the dinner would not be cheap. it is unfortunate that it is so expensive the average person can't afford to eat their very often, but this makes a special occasion more special when planned ahead."

"They went above and beyond to make my dinner with my fiancee special. We didn't do the four course meal, but the cheese, salad, and desert were all amazing and they were very helpful in accommodating her gluten free needs. will go back."

"It was our 4 year wedding anniversary, and as usual the melting pot DID NOT dissappoint. Great service, great food, and just a great night! The balloons, card, picture and decorated plate just made it that much more memorable! Thank you!"

"This is the second Melting Pot I've been to and both have been excellent. Cooking the food yourself is really fun and it tastes great even if you have no cooking skills. The best is the dessert. We had the dark chocolate fondu which wasn't too bitter and still had some sweetness to it. I could've eaten the chocolate all by itself! It's not cheap, but it's worth it, especially for a special occasion."

"My wife and I use to come here for our anniversaries. This will be our last time. Not sure if the company underwent management changes, but it has gone downhill. We felt extremely rushed, we were not offered water and were told that customers need to verbally request it (annoying when you're out for a night of good service), the portions have decreased (which looks silly with the current pots they're using), and the overall clientele is growing close to a Red Robin crowd. Never thought I'd describe it as a family restaurant, but I do now. No longer the place for a romantic night out."

"I took my mom to the Melting Pot for her birthday. The last time she went was when they were in Beaverton so this was long overdue! What a wonderful experience. Our waiter was great and the food was fabulous! Would definately go back again soon."

"Going to the melting pot and "doing fondue" is a memorable occasion...just not exactly a good one especially at the outrageous prices! Dinner for 4 without drinks came to over $200.00! Not a bad outing, just tremendously disappointed at the small portion sizes and high prices! Would NOT recommend!"

"I took my boyfriend for his birthday dinner here and it was awesome, we loved the private table.
The wine list was great and the food, outstanding :-) The waiter was remarkably sweet and let us take our time in choosing our selected meal. He didn't badger us into getting some we didn't really want more need. The smells were very good and made us want to get more, although we didn't, lol. I loved this place and would recommend it to anyone for any occasion."

"Decided to try the Melting Pot...had the 4 course. Would recommend all but the "meat" portion...kinda scarey cooking our own meat and timing, etc. Had our 12 year old son along who is a foodie. Great experience...Cheese starter fondue, salad, and chocolate fondue were all SUPER. Love Martini is delicious! Will come back for dessert again."

"Highly raved about. Finally went. The ambiance is nice. Good music and elegant. Wine menu excellent. However, I would have appreciated not having to boil my own food. If I wanted boiled meat...heck who am I kidding, I would never want it. I guess we were to be blinded by the pittance of dipping sauces provided. So over priced, food not good enough to be in this price range. The 'experience' is too slow. If the food was better, then it would be acceptable. This Fondue was a big Fondon't."

"We had four very hungry people, shared fondue and cooking our own entrees. It was not quite enough food for us. The men in the group thought the portions of entree meats were a bit skimpy for the price, although very tasty with the selections of sauces. We did order more vegetables, would have liked one more offering of them. We already had dessert plans for later after an evening out so were not interested in the four course meal offered. We will need to order more food next time. A fun and interesting way to dine out."

"I made a reservation on Saturday for Mother's Day at the local Melting Pot. We have eaten there before for our anniversary and Valentines. We brought our two boys with us this time. I received an email for Mother's Day special, unfortunately, that wasn't available on Saturday as advertised. We ordered off the standard menu. The first course was not as good as others we tried. One son (16) didn't care for it, but other (9) gobbled it up! It was different dining for them, but they loved it. Dessert was delicious. We love coming to The Melting Pot. It is a BIG splurge on the budget, but when done once or twice a year, it's worth it! We'll be coming back. Thanks again to Jerry our server."

"We wanted to try something different and had heard of the Melting Pot from friends. The hostess was welcoming and helpful. Paul, helped us choose an amazing wine. Our server, Thomas was attentive, gracious and gently educated us in our choices and the art of fondue. We appreciated meeting the manager Kelly. We felt relaxed and even enjoyed the music, which seem tailored to a romantic evening. The food was amazing! The duck and beef terriake were perfectly marinated. Dark chocolate dulce fondue is now our favorite dessert! The special touches of an anniversary card and the strawberry/chocolate plate made our experience so memorable! Thank you all for a unique dining adventure! We will return and bring friends!!"

"We paid for a picture for our night out and it was very unflattering. I wish we had gotten to see it before they printed it out.

"My boyfriend and I went to the Melting pot to celebrate his birthday. The ambiance was really romantic. There was soft lighting and our server was top of the line. I recommend trying it at least once, and now that we have we both agreed not again :( not that everything wasn't good the service was spectacular its just that after we did the 4 course experience and paid 50 each we were hungry within half an hour of leaving the amount of food for the price wasn't worth it to us. So we won't be going again but it makes a great bucket list restaraunt! It's also a restaraunt that will go out of their way to cater to a special evening if that's what you're looking for, but I'm sure a lot of restaraunt would."

"It was a pleasant dining experience. However, found the menu to be a bit confusing and even the waitress said that was the hardest part of the dining experience. For the price that is charged, it was felt that the portions were small and in some ways you are reminded of that as you try to figure the menu out. My feeling is that the Melting Pot caters more to special occasions where people may be willing to spend a little more to get a bit of special attention towards the occasion (be it birthday, anniversary etc). They did have a nice touch with these recognitions but not sufficient that I would go again as it was over priced for what you received in my opinion."

"I thought this would be a great place to celebrate my son's girlfriends 21st birthday...it has fabulous ambiance, however the service for the money that you pay was horrific. We are water drinkers, and we had to ask twice to have our water refilled, also we were left waiting several for our next courses....also we had to ask to get more dippers to finish off our cheese on the first course....I think that whom ever seated the tables for the restaurant, slammed our waitress all at once..not fair to us...however the tables around us were getting better service, not too sure why..."

"This was a first-time visit to a Melting Pot. We were celebrating our anniversary, and it certainly did not disappoint. The day before our reservation, I received a call confirming the reservation and details about our celebration including the spelling of my wife's name. We arrived a little early, but they were able to accommodate with very little wait. The manager (April) stopped at our table to congratulate us and delivered a card personalized to my wife and I. Sean was our server and was very helpful. His recommendations were spot on, and his service was perfect. Nice balance of timing and privacy. The four course option was perfect - reasonably price with more food than we could eat. Thank you for an unforgettable celebration."

"This is the second time I have been to the melting pot for our anniversary. They have since changed the menu in a good and bad way. It used to be a set price per couple for a four course meal but stil very custimizable. Now each person of the party chooses an option for their meat entree but you have the same broth to cook it in. It's very customizable now, but ends up being more expensive. The meal is not cheap, but is about right for what you get. It was very loud when we were there, but still had a very enjoyable evening. Will probably continue to go for our anniversary. Though the extra $18 for balloons and chocolate is too expensive."
