For over twenty years, Lovin' Oven Celebrations, Long Island's premiere caterer, has built their reputation on superb cuisine, elegant locations and refined staff. Their newest venture, the elegant 21 Main Steakhouse, encompasses all these things. Set in a historic mansion in the heart of Sayville, Gerard Scollan and his partner Billy Reilly, have captured the glamour and service of an era gone by - with a modern twist. Gerard Scollan and Billy Reilly, have been in the Catering/Special events business for over twenty years and are the owners of Lovin' Oven Celebrations. Lovin' Oven is the food service provider at eight elegant locations, including the renowned Land's End in Sayville and Flowerfield in St. James.

"Took wife to celebrate her birthday as this is her fav. restaurant. Been there several times in the past and once again, 21 Main knocks it out of the park! Steak was tender, cooked perfectly and seasoned well. Service, as always, was spot on! As picky as I am as a foodie, I can never find anything wrong with this place. One gentleman that was dining was quite loud but you can't fault the restaurant for that. Otherwise, it was a perfect evening!!!"

"the shrimp should be served nicer, like a martini glass or something better than lying on a saucer. you should have a steak for two on the menu. I had to ask if the steak could be sliced for two. I was told the steaks were for one person and the waiter would ask them to slice it for two. every good steak house has steaks sliced for two or more .i did not like the bread the squares were tasteless you need a good bread."

"Exactly that! Always a perfect steak. Even if it's not 100% to our liking the staff will take it back without a single grudge and bring it back perfect. Could use a tap or two of premium lagers (this would be the only improvement I would see necessary)."

"Took my wife out for her birthday and went to 21 Main because of a suggestion from a co-worker. Turns out my wife LOVED the restaurant, loved the ambiance and loved the food. I was elated. She even called my daughters (26 and 32 years old) about the Wednesday wine special. I know were their going on Wednesdays now. Yes, we will be back on every occasion we can concoct. Oh, the food was out of this world and very reasonably priced. Hope to see ya there."

"Not our first time at 21 main and will not be our last looking foward to our next vist the food outstanding and service verry attentive. we have dinning at 21 main for years and this time I finally splurged and ordered the 38 oz bone in rib eye witch was the best piece of meat I have ever had cook to perfection and not to mention the whole dinning room looking at the almost 2!foot bone on my plate makeing me feel like a king being served at a royal dinner!! It will be the only cut of meat I will order hear on out!!"

"I dont know how they do it, but even on a really busy night (including a party upstairs) the service was excellent. They have changed the menu, and sevaral of the new offerings were quite tasty (the shrimp and filet mignon and new pear salad are two examples). The manager, Luke, pitched right in to help his staff and made a point to visit every table. Really nice. Would definately return."

"We sat at the bar and were taken care of immediately. Stephanie the bartender was awesome. With a full bar , she did a great job. It was wine down Wednesday - which was explained that its half priced bottles of wine all night. My gf and I ordered a bottle and we had it in no time. We ordered the clam casinos and calamari for apps and for dinner my gf had the filet and shrimp entree and I had the 12 oz angus skirt steak. Everything was outstanding and cooked to perfection. We had no room for dessert lol We will definitely be back again."

"This was my first time at 21 main and will be sure to be back with friends. From the the service to the food it shines over most other steak houses on Long Island . I had the porterhouse witch was cooked to perfection and my wife had the scallops witch she had said the best she has ever had. Then there's the Mac and cheese like no other the very knowlogable staff had recommended witch was undeniable the best Mac and cheese we have ever tasted. By far one of the best dinning experience we have had in a steak house in some time."

"My girlfriend and I had a remarkable time at 21 Main Tuesday night. The place is gorgeous, so warm and inviting! The service was on point and the food was out of this word. I had filet and she had the tuna steak. Both were delicious .Their wine list was full of variety and they informed us that they have a wine special on Wednesdays I will definitely be back to try that. Definitely a great experience!"

"We've been going to 21Main for years. First time doing a review. From the moment you walk in your greeted by a friendly host ( same girl since we've been going. After your seated , the Service is exceptional. Our server was Tom. He's excellent. Throughout the meal we are checked on by the manager. The food is delicious & always cooked exactly as we ask. "Every year I take my fiancé to dinner at 21 Main. The food is always outstanding. Unfortunately my server wasn't so great. We had a party of 8 and we had to constantly ask for drinks and we did t have out wine before our dinner because he forgot to give us our wine list. Prior to dessert I told the waiter that I had ordered a birthday cake. He acknowledge and said he knew about it but then he brought out dessert menus. I had to remind him about the cake which ruined the birthday cake surprise. He then also forgot to ask if we wanted to coffee so we had to wait for the coffee after we had the cake. Also, I asked him to give me the left over cake and he forgot to. He told me is accidentally got thrown away. Overall it was lousy service."

"The dining room on March 25 was not crowded yet our service was very slow. The waiter may have come back once between courses to check on us. For a quiet night we found the service to be very slow. Also the chairs are small and our friend leaned back and fell backwards. He was not injured.We four had three different steak dishes and felt the steak was not the high quality of a steak house.This was the first time here for the four of us and we were disappointed."

"Disappointed they gave us a table near the bar. The crowd was a loud. But as the crowd died down and we got into the food we didn’t mind so much the table. Service by our THREE waiters was awesome. They were attentive but not overbearing. The star here is the food and presentation for sure. We started with fried calamari with two dipping sauces - the fish was light and crispy - the quality of the fish was very good - not chewy like you sometimes have even at the best Italian restaurants. My fiancé had the filet mignon and I had their crab stuff shrimp we shared a side of mac & cheese and a special risotto they had that evening. I was very impressed with the flavors, portions and quality of the ingredients - We will be back for sure."

"I realized that this was the Saturday after Valentines Day, however I felt rushed by the waiter named Nick and the food runner kept on getting all of the tables in his areas food mixed up and then when he did find the correct table he still put in front of the wrong person. When I questioned the order, he said he would send the waiter over and he never came(I still think I had the wrong steak).Did not stay for dessert."

"What an awful way to spend Valentine's Day. Our server did nothing to help alleviate the hour it took from when our appetizers were cleared before we finished them to when out food came. Anytime we needed anything, I had to flag down the waiter. We were seated upstairs at a 'lovely private table' as the hostess put it where the chairs were flimsy and they had tacky cushions. By the time we got our food we were starving. before I was able to flag down our server to tell him I didn't like my meal but wasn't ordering anything else since I didn't want to wait another hour my fiance finished & enjoyed his meal. We were charged for a side we didn't get so had to flag down the waiter for that and at that time told him I was not happy."

"I took my wife here for a Valentines date night. We do not get to go out much as a couple since we have 3 kids and typically do not have good experiences when trying to do so. My wife usually has something go wrong with her meal. This turned out to be a great night! Not a thing went wrong, my wife was very happy and she really enjoyed her meal. We had a great time and were able to reconnect."

"From the moment we walked in, the experience was outstanding. The hostess was helpful and charming, the waiter was personable and even the food runners were polite. The food was incredible. I highly recommend the 21 Main Steakhouse Salad and the 8 oz filet mignon. The porterhouse is also done beautifully and perfect for guests with a hearty appetite. The desserts are heavenly! For chocolate lovers, try the individual silk and satin. The warm apple crisp was delicious, as was the nitro ice cream. Overall, a great dining experience!"

"My Husband and I went there for a pre Valentine Day dinner. The service was good but the inside was cold and bland. Having been there years before I thought it would have been nicer inside. I got the Lobster special which was the most expensive(?) item and although it was good, I have had better lobster from local seafood restaurants. The sides were wonderful though. My husband ordered the skirt steak and it was "good". I expected more. I think dining room leaves a lot to be desired regarding it's ambiance , the bar side looked much better!"
