Kyoto Palace Restaurant
We are located in The Pruneyard Shopping Center in Campbell on the second floor since 1976. We are a teppanyaki restaurant where the chef "chops, dices and tosses your food right before your very eyes". We have the most skilled and entertaining chefs in the area. They will interact with you and your guests for that special occasion. It is a great place for birthdays, anniversaries, proms, graduations and best of all a great place to treat yourself to a fun night out. Enjoy great steaks, seafood and lobster. Also, enjoy the freshest and most exotic sushi prepared by masterful Sushi Chefs.

"I went here for prom and had 20 people with me. Half of them were not fond of Asian style food but from the second they sat down to the moment we left, they all said absolutely everything was amazing. Best night of out live and I think this place made quite a few change their mind about Japanese food. Best experience ever."

"The chef that you get at each table is quiet different. You either get a good one or a poor one. My last experience the chef only did two tricks and messed up completely on one after attempting it three times. It was a disappointing experience since you are paying for not only a meal but a show as well."

"I have been to Kyoto Palace a number of times and remember it being better than it was this past weekend. The food was just good this time, scallops got a little burned, the vegetables not quite done. They need to get more comfortable chairs, but I guess they don't want you to get too comfortable so they can turn over the table quickly. Overall, it was just ok this time."

"Teppan cooking right in front of you is fun and tastes great and the fried rice is a must!
The entire staff is very friendly. The prices are a bit high, but well worth it, especially considering the quality of the food and the showmanship of the chefs. Your date or guests will be impressed. Consider reservations, although we often just drop in for a yummy dinner.
The Dragon Roll is awesome and at Happy Hour (which ends at 7PM M-F) it's half price...
We have been going to this restaurant for decades and love it!
It's our special occasion or spur of the moment place! We always leave with a smile on our faces.
Kyoto Palace is at the top of our fun to eat places!"

"Kyoto Palace always manages to deliver a quality dining experience!
To start with, the waitstaff does a fine job offering suggestions for its diners. They are attentive, courteous, and prompt - there is no need to ask for anything twice! Armed with good knowledge of the menu, our server was able to answer all questions we had and make a couple of substitutions for a couple of items.
The hilight of the evening is the chef, and we were treated to a show! He walked us through the meal as he was preparing it. Knowing that he wasn't just there to cook for us, he did an excellent job of entertaining us. There was a good deal of creativity and interaction with the seated guests.
I have always enjoyed eating at Kyoto Palace restaurant!"

"I do not like how they tell you that your meal comes with soup and salad and shrimp appetizer for the price you pay you should get what they say is on the menu that do not offer you both salad and soup unless you ask. Also in all my times of going I have never once gotten a shrimp appetizer. Other than that great food !!"

"We had a very entertaining chef who was able to make the toss of egg into every mouth but mine (see, I'm NOT the big mouth). Our 23 year-old wanted to go here for dinner and they proved to be every bit as good as their big name but more expensive competition. We had a variety of foods from fried rice,calimari, chicken, steak, shrimp, and lobster, and it was all very nicely done. Not a diet place and not light on the salt, but a very good meal served in fun way."

"They can keep a reservation on time, I've been there 3x in the past 6mo, mainly for birthdays, celebrations et al, Each time they ran at least 30 min late, always sorry, always excuses. You must be there to hold your "reservation" then wit from 30m - 60m for your table - the worst. There are other excellent choices in Japanese Steak houses, Benny Hana, et al, that know how to keep a reservation. If you have a party and you must go to Pruneyard, try bucci de beppo, they seat you on time, the food id great and the atmosphere is lively."

"Took kids there for a family bday, very fun, very friendly. Had to wait a while for our chef who when he got there had some good tricks. (tossing of a bite, making the egg fried rice into a beating heart... the kids favorite.) The food was tasty but very salty rich, so only ate half. (next time will follow example of our friends with us... she ordered a sushi roll, he got the special dinner.) Hosts and wait staff very nice!"

"It had been a while since I'd eaten here. We were seated promptly and our drink order was taken before the table was full, so we didn't have to wait hungry and thirsty. Once the chef showed up he did the usual tricks which were entertaining and made the dinner a lot of fun. The food was good, but given the type of cut of the filet mignot, I would only recommend if you like the flavor of medium rare cooked meat. I do so I loved it, but my girlfriend didn't and she was the one who ordered it medium. Even after the chef cooked it longer she still didn't like it, so we switched and she ate my NY strip and scrimp which was delicious. Overall it's a fun time with good food. If you like teppanyaki meals, this place is consistent."

"Good food and atmosphere, but be make sure you get your credit card back after paying your bill! I didn't, and they were unable to find it...I had to cancel my card. Seems a little "shady", especially since I heard it has happened to other people."

"As usual, dinner was good overall (chicken was a bit overdone otherwise it would have been excellent). Shell and fin fish were cooked perfectly for all diners. We had the chicken/shrimp, chicken/shrimp/scallops and "salmon in a bag" dinners. Chef was accomodating using our gluten free soy sauce in his cooking and our server provided GF options for soup and salad. Very GF friendly as long as you let them know ahead of time. In addition, chef accomodated our daughter's request to cook the salmon with teriyaki sauce. We went early and we had the entire table to ourselves which got the food out quicker than our past, full table experiences."

"I made a reservation for 4 at 6pm. We get there 15 min. early so we get checked in and we knew that place a little busy on weekends. We didn't seated until 6:40. The hostess forgot to call us and seated dome other group that got there later than us. We notified the manager and only ending up getting a lame excuse. Good food but not worth the price, bad service and heard the birthday song more three times that night."

"We were seated on time although it was really crowded (Thanks OpenTable). We went to the bar and the bartenders were courteous but not really friendly. There was a two-piece band that was good and raised the spirits of the room. The food was good but we've had better at Benihana's and House of Genji. Parking can be a challenge as well. The ginger sauce was thicker than most and quite good. The mustard sauce is nothing to write home about. The amount of food was less than the other places and we were not a full as usual."

"Our cheif, Hector was wonderful. Last time I was here the fried rice was too salty; however, the fried rice Hector made was perfect. I wasn't impressed with the front staff, it wasn't a pleasant experience waiting."

"I ordered the Kyoto Special and the lobster, scallops and filet was amazing! The food is always great and the service was phemonal! I always love coming to Kyoto Palace for special occasions or just a romantic night out. Keep up the great work! We love the restaurant and will definitely be back!!"

"We've been going to Kyoto Palace for awhile now, but our last experience was disappointing. They changed their soup and salad dressing, and I thought the food was no where near as good as usual. I'm hoping it was just a trial run and they will go back to their regular stuff soon."

"Great for good groups (tables sit 8 each) and if your party is smaller, you will sit with other parties. We had a party of 7 for a birthday of a 19 yr old. It was fun for grandparents, parents, birthday boy, and friends of birthday boy. The hostess was pleasant, the drinks were good, and the chef was really good. A bit expensive, but you are paying for the meal and the entertainment.
We went at 6:00 pm on a Sunday. I would avoid Friday and Saturday evenings, or expect at that time for it to be more crowded and to have to wait a bit after your reservation to be seated."
